Obituary for Sorri

John Norman (Jack) Sorri, 68, a resident of Albuquerque for the past five years, died peacefully Monday, October 5, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally of the family home; his son, Tom Soor and wife, Kathia of San Jose, CA; his sister, Carolyn Ruddekopp of Juneau, AK; his brother, Fred Sorri of Yuba City, CA; his aunt and uncle, Ellen and Frank Chinella of Seattle, WA; nephews, Ron Sorri of Albuquerque, Kevin Sorri of Yuba City, CA, and Bob Davis of Aqua Dulce, CA; nieces, Linda Wagoner of San Diego, CA, Cherie Boucke of Yuba City, CA and Cindy Reddekopp of Gold Bar, WA; and many other dear friends and relatives. Mr. Sorri was preceded in death by his son, Patrick; and brother, Richard. Jack was a devoted husband, father, brother and wonderful friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jack was born and reared in Juneau, AK and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Bradley University, where he earned his degree from the school of Horology. He was an accomplished watchmaker and owned his own jewelry store. He was also a designer draftsman, where his keen sense of perfection was utilized to insure all plans met design specifications. His keen ability for precision was evident in his many hobbies, including stained glass, model building, gardening and woodworking. Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 8, 1998, 3:00 p.m., at West Mesa Christian Church, 8821 Golf Course Rd. NW, with Rev. Mark Denton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made in memory of Mr. Sorri to the West Mesa Christian Church Building Fund. Cremation arrangements were prepared by the Sunrise Society, 891-8200.
