Sego -- Robert F. Sego, age 88, died Monday, December 2, 2002 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife Ruth; daughter JoAnna; grandchildren, DeAnna, John and Sharon as well as his brother, Ernest A. Sego and wife, Lyna; sister-in-law, Frances Sego; and many nephews and nieces. The family wishes to express their thanks to those who cared for him during his illness. Shover -- Captain Frank E. Shover, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice M. Shover of Albuquerque; son, Frank Edward Shover, Jr. and wife, Mirese of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Carolin Jane Pyzik and husband, Roger of Onsted, MI; son, William Reynolds Shover and wife, Betty of Denver, CO; daughter, Claudia Rae Daily and husband, Gary of Topeka, KS; son, Kerry Bradley Shover of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Shover served in the U.S. Army during both WWII and the Korean Conflict and was highly decorated. He was a member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine and Masonic Lodge #72. Mr. Shover was an active member of Sandia Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and music. Mr. Shover was also interested in photography. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution NE, with Dr. Bob Butler officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.¯ Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Baptist Church, Library Fund, 9429 Constitution NE, 87112. Sloman -- Alison Sloman, 40, of Albuquerque, died unexpectedly Tuesday, November 19, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Louise and her mother, Bente Busch Spann, both of Albuquerque; her father, Edwin Sloman; twin sister, Bettina Lynn and brother, Eric Sloman, all of Washington, D.C. area. Alison was a Real Estate agent with Coldwell Banker Legacy. She was also an avid equestrian; Alison rode eventing horses in France where she resided for 10 years before moving to Albuquerque A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at St. Peters the Apostle in Queenstown, Maryland. She was laid to rest at St. Peter's in Queenstown. A Memorial Service will be held in Albuquerque on Friday, December 6,2002 at 3301 Juan Tabo NE, in the main meeting room. The family has requested donation be made in lieu of flowers to The Assistance League's"Operation School Bell" at 529 Chama NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.

Valverde -- Abel T. Valverde, Jr., 36, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away November 30, 2002. He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Valverde; parents, Abel, Sr. and Connie Valverde of Moriarty; brother, R. Michael Valverde and wife, Catherine of Moriarty; grandmothers, Anita Gonzales of Artesia and Marina Valverde of Tucumcari; friend, Shana Giesler of Albuquerque; girlfriend, Luwanna McCant; and numerous cousins. Abel was a member of Local Electrical Union 611, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and a very loving son, father and brother. A rosary will be Thursday, December 5, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Moriarty. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 6, 2002, 11:00 a.m., also at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel with Rev. Anthony L. Martinez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Wolff -- Maurice Wolff was born in Brooklyn, NY, November 7, 1921, graduated from Brooklyn Tech, served in World War II in the U.S. Army in England, France, Belgium and Germany and worked as an architect in New York City in part of the design of the World Trade Center and other major city buildings. A member of the American Institute of Architects, he studied painting at the Art Students League in NYC and sculpture after moving to Albuquerque, NM, in 1993. He was active in the Duke City Bridge Club for the past nine years. He died on Monday, December 2, in the Hospice unit of Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Bretta Weiss Wolff; daughters, Anita Orenzow and Joanne Wolff; grandsons, Jeffrey and Michael Orenzow, stepdaughters, Lee Weiss Maniolas, Sara Weiss, Emily Smith; and stepgranddaughter, Nikki Maniolas. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 5, at the First Unitarian Church, Carlisle and Comanche Avenues, in Albuquerque at 4:45 p.m.

Wright -- Essie Pearl Wright, 82, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2002.¯ She is survived by her husband, Dr. William F. Wright, Sr. of Albuquerque; her son, Dr. William F. Wright, Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Hobbs, NM; her daughter, Teresa Clack and husband, Robert of Florissant, MO; and two grandchildren, John and Jenna Clack.¯ She was born on March 5, 1920 to Matthew and Martha Frost and was raised in St. Bernice, Indiana.¯Essie was the oldest of four children. She graduated from St. Bernice High School in 1938 and Terre Haute Business College in 1939.¯In the fall, Essie went to Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois, where she met Bill, her husband-to-be.¯ She earned two bachelor degrees, a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Business, while serving initially as the college presidents secretary and later as Business Manager¯ and Treasurer for the college.¯ She also taught classes at Olivet.¯ Essie earned a master's degree in Business Administration from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She taught business classes at Monon High School in Indiana from 1949 to 1952. In August of 1952, Essie and Bill moved to Albuquerque to start careers with the Albuquerque Public School system.¯ Essie taught at Albuquerque High's Evening School and in the Business Department of the University of New Mexico.¯By 1960, Essie was committed to her role as a full-time mother and wife. After Bill Jr. and Teresa left for college, Essie devoted herself to the full-time service of others.¯She especially loved to care for the elderly who were confined to their homes. In 1972, Essie began volunteering at the Senior Meal Site at Harwood United Methodist Church.¯The site later moved to the Church of Christ located on North Fourth Street. This program was taken over by the North Valley Senior Citizens Center in 1980, where Essie continued to volunteer. In the fall of 2000, she was honored for a total of 28 years of service to the North Valley Community. For over 50 years, Essie has been a member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene.¯She was also active in the WCTU.¯Essie was an avid reader and writer.¯The Bible and devotionals daily guided her life.¯Having always put God first in her life, Essie's family takes great comfort in the knowledge that she is at home with the Lord she loved and served. Services will be held Saturday, December 7th, 11:00 a.m., at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Rev. William B. Nielson officiating.¯ Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.¯ Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Zubia -- Edna Zubia, 64, passed away in Dallas, Texas, November 27, 2002. She lived in Albuquerque and worked at Zubia Construction Company. Edna will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her. Her husband Bob had many fond remembrances of her loving kindness and patience, and described her as the ¯salt of the earth. She was preceded in death by her step-father in law Miguel Ayala and is survived by her husband, Robert ¯Bob¯ Zubia; children, Richard Zubia and wife, Roberta, Laverne Zubia, JoAnna Avila and husband, Ernest, Kenneth Zubia, Matthew Zubia and wife, Anna, Mark Zubia and wife, Ruth, Sylvia Francia and husband, Prudencio, Sally Herrera, Ellen Montoya and husband, Pat, Robert Zubia Jr., Naomi Chavez and husband, Leonard; sister, Coco and husband, Polo; brother, Salvador Chavez; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Living Water Church, 7002 Acoma Rd. SE. A prayer service and viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Brooks -- A Graveside Service will be held to honor the life of Marjorie Ellen Brooks who died on November 30, 2002, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Overlin and Macie Francis Green Overlin Jenkins. Reared in Trinidad, Colorado, she and her husband, Clyde, who died in 1999, were longtime Albuquerque area residents. Marge's calling in life was that of a homemaker. Her love of children, domestic skills, patience, optimism, humor, gentility, and quiet strength served her well in this role. She is survived by her sons, Richard, Don, Dave, and Jim, who grew up basking in the sunshine of her love. Other survivors include daughters-in-law, Marilyn, Joan, Linda, and Karen; grandchildren Tammy Brisco, Sean Brooks, Mark Brooks, Michael Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Matthew Brooks, and Brian Brooks; great-grandchildren, Ashley Loveless and Jaushua Brisco; and Marge's devoted niece and nephew Carol and David Jenkins. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2002, 1:00 p.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heart Association of NM, P.O. Duffee -- William M. (Bill) Duffee passed away November 25, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva; and infant son, Earl. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Pearl; beloved father of three children, William (Cheri) Duffee, Catherine (Bob) Millar, and Barry (Linda) Duffee; three step-children, Barry (Janet) Silbaugh, Steve (Becky) Silbaugh, and Barbara Pinzak; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, James (Betty) Duffee. Bill was born October 16, 1923 in Toledo, Ohio and served courageously in the South Pacific during WWII on the USS Nicholas DD449. He moved his family to Albuquerque in 1957, and in 1958 founded ALTEC, where he was acting president until his retirement in 1989. He and his wife, Pearl have lived in Sun City, AZ for the past 11 years where he was active in many private organizations. They were blessed with many years of happiness, which included numerous trips to Germany and other countries. They came to know and love many people there. He was a wonderful husband and father, and a generous, fun loving man that will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Services will be held in Albuquerque on December 5, 2002 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice.

Fraser -- Eli Octaviano Fraser, 68, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past sevem years, and formerly of Los Alamos, NM, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2002. Eli was born July 18, 1934 the son of William and Avelina Garcia Fraser in Valdez, New Mexico. He had worked for the Los Alamos Labs as a technician before retiring. Eli was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Civitans, and the American Legion of Los Alamos. He is survived by three children, Julie Allen and husband, Scott of Jemez Springs, NM, Bernadette Trujillo of Albuquerque, and Amy Russo and husband, Mat of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Oclides De Fusco and husband, John and family, and Lucille Radaelli and husband, Chuck and family; and six grandchildren, Felicia, T.J., Craig, Drew, Nick, and Samantha. Visitaiton will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Pallbearers will be Scott Allen, T. J. Allen, Mat Russo, Drew Russo, Craig Moore, and John DeFusco. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Russo, Chuck Radaelli, and other family and friends.
