ROMERO -- Gilbertlee J. Romero was 21 years old, born on April 25, 1982, died suddenly on March 7, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Gilbertlee is survived by his daughter, Angelique, and his godson, Martin A. Romero; his parents, Gilbert B. and Monica R. Romero; sister, Melissa M. Romero; Grandmothers, Clovia Segura and Maria S. Romero; aunts and uncles, Rita C. Torrez, Richard and Sylvia Fox, Vincent and Annabelle Valdez, John and Anna Romero all from Albuquerque, Isaac and Marcy Romero, Santa Fe, Patricio and Rosie Romero, Las Vegas and Eloy and Helen Romero, Espanola; several great-uncles and aunts; and cousins from New Mexico and Colorado. Gilbertlee was excited about going back to school after a long absence. He was currently attending Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute; he was studying to be a Respiratory Therapist. He was also a graduate of Albuquerque High School, class of 2001. He worked nights as an employee of Southern Wine and Spirits Distributors. The Pallbearers are Aaron Olivas, Allen Peppin, Daniel Carrillo, Noe Ramirez, Jonathan Garcia, Phillip Baca. Honorary Pallbearers are Martin Romero, Christopher Olivas, Andrew Aragon, Miles Fox, Jesus Trujillo, and Christian Villa. Gilbertlee was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Romero; grandfather, Roman Romero; aunt, Lorraine Lucero; and great-grandparents, Lisandro and Rita Rivera. Roy Rivera will lead the Rosary on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 6:30 pm at San Jose Catholic Church at 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Dennis Garcia on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church; burial following at Mt. Calvary on 1900 Edith NE. GARNER -- Lucile (Lucy) Marie Garner, born March 6, 1916, in Albuquerque died March 6, 2004. She was a faithful and devout Catholic and a founding member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents Florenzina and Frednando Tagliaferro, sisters Stella Semrau, Louise Tagliaferro, Frances Pearce and Irene Chiado, husband Alton Garner and daughter K. Dianne Katz. She is survived by her brother Tony Tagliaferro and wife Billie of Albuquerque and sister Jennie McNeil of Farmington, N.M. and many nieces and nephews. Lucy graduated from Albuquerque High School and Western School of Business. She was employed as a civil servant for more than 40 years. Lucy and her beloved husband Al traveled extensively during his tour of duty with the Navy and later during their retirement. They were avid fishermen and she would often go with Al on his hunting trips. They loved their dogs especially Tojo who was her faithful companion after Al's death. Lucy loved to garden and won many first place ribbons for her roses. Lucy was a loyal friend and will be missed by all her friends and family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Casa Angelica. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday March 9, 2004, 7:00 pm at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday March 10, 2004 at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Annunciation, 2532 Vermont NE. with Fr. Ron Bruckner officiating. DOMMER -- Richard Martin Dommer, died February 28, 2004. He was much loved by his surviving children, Tony and Tina Dommer; parents, Rev. Robert Dommer and Hazel Lessen and husband, Arthur; sisters, Mary Dommer, Susan Hanna and husband Jim, and Julie Wright; nine nieces and nephews and many friends. Rick was born March 26, 1951 in Tacoma, WA. He attended Immanuel Lutheran College and the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, WI and the University of New Mexico. Rick served his country in the Vietnam War. He was involved in charitable work for many years, assisting those more needy than himself. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 8, 2004, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Robin Vogsland officiating. SLATTERY -- Robert G. Slattery, 53, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 1, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Marianne Dickinson; son, Brendon Slattery; parents, Richard and Marjorie Slattery; brother, Ed Slattery and wife, Mary; nieces, Emily and Hannah; nephew, Ben; and three cousins and their families. Bob was born in Washington, DC and raised in a log cabin near Rockville, MD until he and his family relocated to Davenport, IA when he was 13. He received his BA in archeology from the University of Iowa and came to NM to do field work, first with UNM and later the School of American Research. He started in the construction business in Santa Fe in 1973 and became proficient in many building styles. He tried his hand at writing and publishing in the early 80's, which is how he met Marianne, his wife and partner. They moved to Albuquerque in 1985, where Bob started Robert Slattery Construction, Inc., which has won numerous awards for custom homes and remodeling. Bob was an active member of the Home Builders of Central New Mexico, serving on the Board of Directors, as chairman of the Remodelors Council, and as a founding member and chairman of the Custom Builders Council. He was also active in efforts to institute green building and green development standards locally. He was known as an intelligent, creative and ethical professional---which, with his boyish grin and positive energy, made him a much respected and loved member of our community. Services will be held Monday, 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. A memorial and reception will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the Hibben Center on Redondo Drive and Martin Luther King Dr. on the west side of UNM campus. MONTOYA -- Natividad Montoya, 72, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2004. He was born on December 28, 1931 in Cabezon, New Mexico. Mr. Montoya was a Korean Conflict Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 13 and was a parishioner of San Felipe Catholic Church since 1957. He is survived by his wife, Theresa B. Montoya of 47 years; sons, Rudy L. Montoya and Liz Montoya and Steve R. Montoya; sisters, Epifania Montoya, sally Garcia and husband Pete, Theresa Jaramillo and Seferina Lopez and husband Felipe; one grandchild, Michelle Vigil and Frank and one great grandchild, Janessa Mariah Vigil. Natividad will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church. TRUJILLO -- Baby Angel Justin Trujillo, 6 months, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico has filled his place in the Garden of Angels to be with the Lord. After a courageous battle with an undetermined illness at the Denver Children's Hospital in Denver, CO, he took his last breath in the loving arms of his uncle, Cirilo. During his short life, he brought much joy to all of his family. He is preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Imogene Yazzie; his paternal grandparents, Julian and Emma Garcia, Erlindo and Anita Trujillo, and Erlindo and Mary Ann Trujillo. Justin is survived by his loving parents, Martin and Christina Trujillo of the family home in Los Lunas; his brother, Jimmie R. Trujillo; his maternal grandparents, David and Carol Chavez of Los Lunas; his paternal grandparents, Martin and Florela Trujillo of Los Lunas; his maternal great-grandfather, Jimmie R. Yazzie of Gallup; his uncle, Cirilo Chavez; and his five aunts, Barbara Perkins, Cindy and Candace Trujillo, and Cecilia and Cessileigh Chavez. ROMERO -- Maria A. Romero passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2004 at the age of 16.
