Gilbertlee J. Romero was 21 years old, born on April 25, 1982, died suddenly on March 7, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Gilbertlee is survived by his daughter, Angelique, and his godson, Martin A. Romero; his parents, Gilbert B. and Monica R. Romero; sister, Melissa M. Romero; Grandmothers, Clovia Segura and Maria S. Romero; aunts and uncles, Rita C. Torrez, Richard and Sylvia Fox, Vincent and Annabelle Valdez, John and Anna Romero all from Albuquerque, Isaac and Marcy Romero, Santa Fe, Patricio and Rosie Romero, Las Vegas and Eloy and Helen Romero, Espanola; several great-uncles and aunts; and cousins from New Mexico and Colorado. Gilbertlee was excited about going back to school after a long absence. He was currently attending Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute; he was studying to be a Respiratory Therapist. He was also a graduate of Albuquerque High School, class of 2001. He worked nights as an employee of Southern Wine and Spirits Distributors. The Pallbearers are Aaron Olivas, Allen Peppin, Daniel Carrillo, Noe Ramirez, Jonathan Garcia, Phillip Baca. Honorary Pallbearers are Martin Romero, Christopher Olivas, Andrew Aragon, Miles Fox, Jesus Trujillo, and Christian Villa. Gilbertlee was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Romero; grandfather, Roman Romero; aunt, Lorraine Lucero; and great-grandparents, Lisandro and Rita Rivera. Roy Rivera will lead the Rosary on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 6:30 pm at San Jose Catholic Church at 2401 Broadway Blvd. SE. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Dennis Garcia on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church; burial following at Mt. Calvary on 1900 Edith NE.
