SCHROEDER-ARYEH -- Ann Schroeder-Aryeh, 40, passed away on Saturday, May 9, after a valiant struggle with Cystic Fibrosis. Ann lived most of her life around Albuquerque, attending Sunset Mesa Schools, Sandia High, and the Armand Hammer United World College. She graduated from Manhattanville College in 1990. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Jason; seven- year- old daughter, Katie; parents, Marion and John and brothers Mike and Tom. A Celebration of Ann's life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the park at Mariposa in Rio Rancho, NM. The family invites all friends to attend a casual service beginning around 11:30 am, shortly after the annual GREAT STRIDES CF walk, in which Ann's daughter's, "Katie's Crusaders", team will be participating. LUCERO -- Carmen DeAguero Lucero, of Canon passed away on May 13, 2009. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 3259, Chapter 1401 Federal Retirees. She served for 20 years as secretary treasurer to Acequia del Norte del Canon. She is preceded in death by husband of 27 years, Joe H. Lucero, parents, Jose Cipriano and Isabel Cruz DeAguero, sister, Erlinda Louise Barajas, brother in law, Max Barajas, grandparents, Juan Bautista and Salome Gomez DeAguero, Jose Nestor and Juanita Cruz. She is survived by sister, Salome DeAguero, sister in law, Mercedes Hick, cousin, Juanita Santistevan, nephews, Philip Barajas, John B. Lucero, Paul Lucero, Art and Gustavo Lucero, nieces, Patricia Burch, Ernestina Barajas, Juliana Lucero, Christina Chavarria (Tom), great-niece, Anita Burch and many other relatives and friends. PLATERO -- Carol S. Platero, 75, a resident of Tohajiilee, New Mexico, passed away on May 11, 2009. Mrs. Platero is survived by her beloved husband of fifty years, Mr. Burton Platero; her children, Tommy A. Secatero and girlfriend, Geneva Piaso, Darrell D. Platero, Veronica E. Platero-Tom and husband, Lorenzo, Minga U. Platero-Dreyer and husband, Mark; her sister, Berna Piaso; her nine grandchildren, Tammy, Tommy, Karry, Brandon, Arleen, Melissa, Emily, Stephanie and Nathaniel; seven great-grandchildren; and many brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and friends. DELANEY -- Margaret Antoinette Delaney, age 93 went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Camillo and Pauline Garcia in Gallup, NM on May 10, 1916, and raised in Chinle, AZ. Margaret graduated with a business degree from Phoenix, AZ., lived in Chinle AZ. most of her life and helped manage Garcia's Canyon de Chelly Trading Post, a family business started by her father Camillo Garcia. After the untimely death of her father and brother Abel, Margaret became the sole proprietor of the family business until her retirement. She moved to Albuquerque after retirement with many friends and fond memories of her life on the Navajo Reservation. Despite a disability from polio Margaret lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed traveling to foreign countries, painting, and needlepoint. Margaret is survived by her sisters, Alice Bischoff, and Cleo Giersch; nephews, Tom, Alan, and Paul Gallegos, David, Ben and John Giersch, John Garcia, David, and Patrick McGuire, Eddy, Ann Selm, Tommy, Jerry, and David Bischoff; nieces, Mary Lou Widner, Teresa Giersch, Anita Dossey, Theresa Murry, Lorretta Bacaio, Georgianna Thomas, and Henrietta Gilmore. Margaret dearly loved the spouses and children of her many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved cousins from Santa Fe and Gallup. BRENNAN -- Patricia M. Brennan, 86, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at a Boise hospital of natural causes. Memorial Services will be held at Old Fort Myer Chapel, Arlington, Virginia in August. Burial with full military honors will follow at Arlington National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest along side her husband, George Brennan. Local arrangements are under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Home, Boise. Patricia Marguerite Sheehan was born January 31, 1923 to Frank and Loretta Sheahan at Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in that area, graduating North High in 1941. Shortly after, she enlisted in the Navy, completed basic training in Norman, Oklahoma and served in Chicago at Navy Pier as a Yeoman Second Class. It was during this time that she met a handsome Army Air Corps glider pilot, George Brennan. They were married on June 16, 1945 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2002. Mom was above all a devoted wife and mother who took great joy and pride in participating, along with her husband, in their children's activities. While we were growing up, she was the mother who always organized our class room parties, chaperoned, coordinated carpools, served as scout leaders and stepped up wherever needed. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who never failed to give us her time and all of her love. Our parents showed us the world and gave us great adventures growing up and our home was always filled with love and laughter. She is our heroine Mrs. Brennan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jim Konrath of Boise; son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Vicki Brennan of Annandale, Virginia, and grandchildren Michael Brennan of Virginia and Allison Brennan of Washington, D.C. She is also survived by a special step grandson and his wife, Brian and Barclay Konrath and her great-grandsons, Thomas and Charlie Konrath, all of Boise; her nieces, Susan Hartman in Maryland and Barbara Spoor in Nevada, and their children. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Rich Walch; her nephew, Rick Walch; and all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, it was Mrs. Brennan's wish that donations be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or a local charity.

DAVIS -- Fay F. Davis, 82, of Rio Rancho, NM, died on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Hanover Hospital, Hanover, PA. Born June 10, 1926, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Cora Mae (Fetters) Findlay. Fay was preceded in death by her husband Grier. Fay graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Albuquerque in 1979 earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree. She retired from the University of New Mexico in 1984 where she worked as a Program Specialist for the University's Native American Education Program. Fay was a fabulous human being. She approached life with unparalleled humor, integrity and generosity. Fay was active in many civic organizations including, the Rio Rancho City Council, Friends of the Library, Library and Senior Advisory Boards, and volunteered for the campaigns of Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Tom Udall, President Barack Obama and her son, the Honorable Judge John Davis. As a philanthropist she supported Smile Train, Habitat for Humanity, Lambda Legal, Heifer International, American Cancer Society and the American Civil Liberties Union. Celebrating her life are her children Karen and Rick Engle of Hanover, PA, Donna Rupp, of Rio Rancho, NM, Marilyn and Ken Switzer of Holton, KS, Mike Davis, of Westminster, CO, and John and Vicki Davis of Placitas, NM. She was a role model and hero to her 14 grandchildren and "GG" to her six great-grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren will gather to honor her incredible life. TAYLOR -- Velda C. Taylor died suddenly in Clovis, NM on May 7, 2009 at the age of 90. Velda was born in New Amsterdam, Indiana on February 6, 1919. She lived many places where she made countless friends throughout her life including, Washington DC, Biloxi, Mississippi, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Las Vegas, NV, Marysville, CA and Albuquerque, NM. During World War II, Velda worked as a ship welder. She also worked as a beautician in her early life and spent her later life as an accomplished collector. Velda was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend who always put others first. She had a lovingly warped sense of humor that anyone who knew her will remember. Velda was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Taylor; and is survived by her beloved son, Michael T. Hamilton (her bouncing baby boy), wife Denise; granddaughter, Katrina Wagner; great-grandson Jason T. Wagner, Adam Wagner, grandson Thomas Taylor and family Tom and Sandy Taylor. She is also survived by her incredible neighbors and friends whose love and support enabled her to remain in her beloved home. SAUER -- Susan G. Sauer passed away with family at her side on Wednesday May 6, 2009 at the age of 79 from cancer. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 10, 1929 to Hiram and Helen Grover, and grew up in Southern California. Sue attended Colorado College graduating in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Zoology. She married G. Russell Sauer in 1950 and together they had 3 sons during their sixteen years of marriage. They moved from Colorado to Albuquerque in 1958 where Sue continued to reside for 51 years. She successfully owned and operated a swimming pool business for about 15 years, and spent her retired life dedicated to volunteering at the Rio Grande Zoo and counseling people in need. Susan is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Steve and Glenda Sauer of Carlsbad, NM, Jim and Eileen Sauer of Austin, TX, and Tom and Janine Sauer of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, Shalaka Montoya and husband Ken, Jeff Sauer, Hannah Sauer, Colleen Pate and husband Brad, Kevin Sauer, and Kaitlin Sauer; and, two great-grandchildren Andromyda Montoya and Hudson Pate. A celebration of life event will be held on Saturday May 16, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Rio Grande Zoo Outdoor Nature Theater, 903 Tenth Street SW, Albuquerque, NM.
