CORDOVA -- Ruben C. Cordova went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2005 at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1925 in Rodey, New Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Services are in the care of: GARCIA MORTUARY 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222

Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Cordova and wife Lela, Arthur B. Cordova and wife Judy L., Arnold B. Cordova and wife Betty, Danny B. Cordova and wife Geri and Steve L. Cordova and wife Jamie; daughter, Barbara Howard and husband Mark; step-daughter, Ernestine Salazar and husband Gerald; brother, Wilfred C. Cordova and wife Phyllis; sister, Maria "Lala" Elisaida Gutierrez and husband Victor; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ruben will be deeply missed by all. ROMERO -- John Ruben Romero, 78, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, was called home by our Heavenly Father May 18, 2005 at his home in Albuquerque. He was born in Dixon, NM on November 19, 1926. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline; his children, Nelson Romero and wife Mona, Diana Chavez and husband Edward, and Carmen Murdoch. John will be truly missed by his eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons Ruben, Alex, and David; and daughter Mary Martha. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends, Church of God, and Zia Hospice for their support and prayers during this difficult time. "WE LOVE YOU JOHNNIE. PINO -- Bernabe, 81, passed away May 13, 2005. He was born in Buena Vista, NM, served in the U.S. Army in WWII, a long time resident of Albuquerque, he worked at Onate Feed Co. He is preceded in death by children: Barbara, Brenda, Roberta, Gloria Jean, Bernabe Jr., and Theresa; parents: Antonio and Grabielita Pino, brothers: Juan Pino, Phil Pino, Felix Pino, Benancio Pino, and Arturo Pino. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Angie Pino; daughters: Patricia Alvarado and husband Salvador Sr., Roberta Lopez, and husband Steve, Rose DuBoise, and husband Mark; grandchildren: Salvador Jr., Monica, Michael, Rosanne, Jessica, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren: Rodney Jr., Cassandra, Andrea, Kiko, Salvador III, Angelina, and Alexis; brothers: Tony Pino and wife Josie of Buena Vista, NM, Robert Pino and wife Rachael of Las Vegas, NM; sisters: Sophia Salas of Denton, TX, Isabel Pino, and companion Al of Mora, NM, Velma Duran of Buena Vista, NM, Lila Sanchez and husband Milnor of Buena Vista, NM, Rita Cordova and fiance Ernest Sena of Las Vegas, NM; 497 nieces and nephews. TARIN -- Mary Romero Tarin, age 71, passed away May 13, 2005 at University Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Mary was born May 27, 1933 in Pintada, NM to the home of Herman and Vitalia Gonzalez Romero. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Mary worked as a Nursing Assistant at University of New Mexico Hospital. She was a member of the Senior Citizens and enjoyed crocheting. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Louis E. Ulibarri; second husband, Lonnie Tarin; son, David A. Ulibarri; brother, Willie Romero and her sister, Emma Marquez. Survivors include her son, Louis Robert Ulibarri and wife Debbie of Eureka,CA; granddaughters, Stacey Canez and husband Loe of Eureka, CA, Raven Ulibarri and Eugene Masten of Hoopa, CA; great- grandchildren, Analesia Masten and Eugene Masten, Jr. Also surviving are her sisters, Erinea Cordova of Clovis, Maria Felicita Romero of Santa Rosa, Sylvia Romero of Albuquerque, Rita White of Albuquerque and her brother, Nerio Romero of Amarillo, TX. Rosary services will be held on Monday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose Church in Santa Rosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 17, at 10:00 a.m. also from St. Rose Church with Father Nick Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. TORREZ -- Lugardita M. Torrez went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2005 at the age of 83. She was born on July 15, 1921 in Torreon, New Mexico. She is survived by her sisters, Felecitas Lucero and Lena Vigil; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her six children, Marie Neville and Lloyd, Rita Saladin and Dan, M.R. (Richard) Sanchez and Theresa, Robert Sanchez and Mary Jane, Sally Cordova, and Teddy Sanchez; one brother, Willie Garley and Reina; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Sosteno; a son, Leo; two sisters; and five brothers. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Jose de Los Duranes Catholic Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Jose de Los Duranes Catholic Mission with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Jerry.
