BLANKLEY -- R. Blair Blankley was born on April 11, 1949 and passed away on May 21, 2005. Blair was born in Albuquerque and was raised in Anthony, NM by his parents, Roy and Betty, who predeceased him. Blair graduated from Anthony Gadsden High School in 1967. He graduated from UNM with a degree in chemistry in 1971. After graduation Blair pursued his love of golf and was the summer assistant golf pro at Oakridge Country Club in Minnesota for eight years and, during the winter, worked as a farm accountant in Anthony. After completing an additional degree in accounting at UNM, he began his career in the medical supply business and was president of Med-Systems, Inc. Blair was a beloved husband and trusted friend to everyone he met. He was a cherished friend to Becky Moore and shared all of life's joys and sadness with her during their fifteen years together. Although not the biological father and grandpa, Blair was a true father and grandpa to Becky's daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen. Blair is survived by his brother, Roy Lee Blankley; Roy's wife, Dodie; and his three nephews, Scott, Patrick, and Chris; and is also survived by his loving partner, Becky and her daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen, who will miss him forever. A celebration of Blair's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2005 at The Downs of Albuquerque - - - Let it Ride!

COAD -- Mr. James Ernest Coad died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at a local nursing home. He was born April 15, 1910 in Seymour, CT but raised in Mansfield, MA. He was married to his beloved wife, Ruth, for almost 62 years. He is also survived by his two sons, Jim and wife, Pat of Albuquerque and Alan and wife, Rayeann of Oklahoma City and three grandchildren; Wendy Coad of Albuquerque, Adam Coad of Orange, CA, Colin Schulze and wife, Christina, stationed in the Air Force in Okinawa. In September 1932, Jim joined the U.S. Navy and served on the gunboat "Oahu" on the Yangtze River for two years. After that it was a variety of ships, both in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He retired in San Francisco in November 1953. Mr. Coad was a member of Masonic Lodges in Mansfield and Boston, MA and in Portland, ME. He also belonged to Masonic groups in Albuquerque and Gallup, NM. Jim was a member of the VFW for over 50 years. He was All American VFW State Commander in 1975. He also was a member of American Legion Post 49, Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 200 and the Elks in Gallup. Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2005, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Friends may visit one half hour prior to service. Cremation will follow services. CORDOVA -- Ruben C. Cordova went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2005 at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1925 in Rodey, NM. He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Cordova; sons, Jerry B. Cordova and wife Lela, Arthur B. Cordova and wife Judy L., Arnold B. Cordova and wife Betty, Danny B. Cordova and wife Geri and Steve L. Cordova and wife Jamie; daughter, Barbara Howard and husband Mark; step-daughter, Ernestine Salazar and husband Gerald; brother, Wilfred C. Cordova and wife Phyllis; sister, Maria "Lala" Elisaida Gutierrez and husband Victor; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Ruben will be deeply missed by all. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. FITZGERALD -- Dottie Fitzgerald, 56, of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her daughter, Tracy Heronimus; son-in-law, Scott; granddaughter, Hannah, all of Albuquerque; her son, George Najdek, his wife Heidi, and their sons, Drew and Devin, of Atlanta, GA. All that knew her, knew her as a friend. She was loved, and will be greatly missed.

FOEGLE -- Robert M. Foegle, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, NM gently passed away in his sleep after a lengthy illness. Mr. Foegle was born on May 5, 1926 to Robert and Winifred Foegle who predecease him. He is survived by two cousins: Carol Girard of Springfield, MO, and Robert Luppi of California; three close friends, Bette A. GABALDON -- Leonor Luna Gabaldon, age 79, passed away at her home in Los Lunas, NM, with family by her side, on May 23, 2005. She was a lifelong member of San Clemente Parish and a lifelong resident of Los Lunas. She was lovingly known as "Maye" to family and friends, a name her first born grandson gave her. Maye was a personal assistant for Dr. William Wittwer for many years. She worked for Castillo Grocery's in Los Lunas and she was a cook at Los Lunas Public Schools for many years. Maye was a loving and caring grandmother, and there was nothing that she wouldn't do for any of her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved her. Maye is preceded in death by her loving husband, Eliseo in 1988; her parents, Jose and Margarita Luna; brothers, Joe, Noberto, and Frank Luna; sisters, Reina Armijo, and Susie Valenzula. She is survived by her daughters, Carol and husband, John Trujillo, Dulcie and her husband, Abenicio Padilla, and Stella and her husband, Pat Olguin all from the local area of Los Lunas and Belen; ten grandchildren, Pat Leo Olguin, DonnaJo Wolfe, Kathy Pacinelli, Joseph Padilla, Margaret Gallegos, Abby Peralta, Roberto Quintana, Naomi Quintana, Clarice Trujillo, and Christopher Trujillo; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; three special nieces, Sally Garley, Lillie McNabb and Dollie Shawn. GALLEGOS -- Antonio "Tony" Jose Gallegos, 60, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Tony was born September 10, 1944, the son of Edwardo and Catalina Martinez Gallegos, in New Mexico. Tony had worked at the University of New Mexico before retiring. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Edwardo and one sister, Carmen. He is survived by his mother, Catalina; son, Tony Sanchez; two daughters, Roseanna McKinstry and husband Mike, and Sue Ann Badeau; brothers and sisters, Frances and husband Lee, Clara, Gilbert and wife Helen, Lazaro, Rosalia, Leonard and wife Cynthia, Manuel, Genevieve and husband Joe, Lena and husband David, David, Richard and wife Diane, Catalina and husband Alfred, John, and Trinidad; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends and family. GIBBS -- Martin Allen Gibbs, age 67, beloved son, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Monday, May 23, 2005. He was a resident of Albuquerque, formerly of Bayfield, CO. GORDON -- Eunice Ann, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, went to reside with the Lord, God Almighty, Saturday, May 21, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Byfield; sons, Fred L. Cone, III and his wife, Dale of Round Rock, TX; Kurt Clifford Cone of Terrell, TX; Christopher D. Gordon and his wife, Debra of Englewood, FL; Thomas D. Gordon and his wife, Sharon of Bainbridge, GA; and granddaughter, Brandy Michele Cone of Euless, TX. Born in Akron, IA, the daughter of the late Clifford and Sue Lanphere was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, TX. She studied art at Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, LA, Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX, and Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, TX. Eunice Ann was a distinguished artist who enjoyed painting in nearly all media. Her art works are enjoyed by all. Eunice Ann was a wonderful wife and loving, devoted mother and grandmother. HODGES -- Christine Hodges, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2005. Christine was a gentle, loving, and always caring mother, grandmother, and friend to all. LOPEZ -- Edith Lopez, 84, a resident of Alameda for 48 years, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. MATTEUCCI -- Basilio J. Matteucci, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose Matteucci; nephews, Paul Sealey and Gary Sealey, all of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gray and husband, Clyde of Denver, CO and Bernice Madrid of Trinidad, CO. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Basilio and his sister, Ancilla, immigrated to the US from Italy in 1937. Shortly after, he joined the United States Army where he served in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 13 for approximately 32 years. Basilio belonged to Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. MAY -- Marjorie "Marge" Elizabeth Young May. Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2005. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be with us always in our hearts. Marge was born June 11, 1914 in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles H. and Emma Young, and husband B. "Bud" Thomas May, Attorney. She is survived by her two daughters; Carol Duggins and husband, Mark of Albuquerque, and Pam Kenneth and husband, Alan of Rio Rancho, NM, and six grandchildren, Justin, Michelle, and Mark Duggins, and Ryan, Greg, and Kristin Kenneth. Marge graduated from Indiana University, She was a fashion model for multiple magazines, and a commercial artist for Chicago Tribune and New York Times. In 1953, Marge moved to Albuquerque with her husband Bud. She was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, AAUW, and Delta Delta Delta Sorority. MORGAN -- Paul F. Morgan, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 42 years, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2005. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dorthy; one daughter, Paula Laycock and husband, John; one step-daughter, Marilyn Hickman and husband, Les; one brother, Herbert; two sisters, Mary Lou McNulty and Martha Beck. MORROW -- William (Bill) Thomas Morrow III, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Albuquerque of complications from COPD and Emphysema. He was born August 30, 1925 in Albuquerque, a son of William Thomas and Maude Dorothy Still Morrow. Mr. Morrow was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1943 where he was active in Performing Arts and Athletics. He remained close to his classmates and helped form a group called "AMIGOS PARA SIEMPRE", who organized their class reunions for their 25th, 50th, and 60th anniversaries. He graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1949 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served his country in the US Air Force as a pilot from 1943 to 1945. He was well known in the community having been the owner and operator of All-Field Insulation Company for 25 years. He retired in 1987. Hobbies included, Golf, Hunting, and Fishing. He enjoyed his time at his summer home in Pendaries. His favorite past-time was playing cards with his friends at the Albuquerque Country Club. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Frances Storey Morrow, Albuquerque; daughter; Katherine E. Morrow, Rio Rancho; one granddaughter; Desiree A. Morrow; Sister; Margaret E. Anderson, Albuquerque; Brother; Richard E. Morrow, Thereau, New Mexico. Several nieces and nephews, and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister; Mildred Ness. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Mortuary. OBNEY-JEFFERS -- Eleanor M. Obney-Jeffers, 87, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Eleanor was born December 27, 1917 the daughter of Alva Clyde and Anna Weiss Warner in Toledo, OH. Eleanor came to New Mexico from Maumee, OH. She had been a sales supervisor with J. C. Penny Company and was head of the Bed and Bath Dept. for over ten years before she retired. She had received her 50 year pin from the Eastern Star. Eleanor was a volunteer at the Meadowlark Senior Center, and she loved to sew and square dance. Eleanor will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by three children, Joyce and Danny Ayers of Rio Rancho, Sherry and John Baxter of Rio Rancho, and Karen and Michael Di Bernardo of Florida; seven grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Private family services have been held. Eleanor has been entombed in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. ORTEGA -- MARY E. Mrs. Mary E. Ortega, 57, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 23, 2005. PEACOCK -- Howard S. Peacock passed away peacefully Friday May 20, 2005 following a short and unexpected illness in Gilbert, AZ. Howard was born March 2, 1927 in Hatch, NM. He attended NMSU where he was a star basketball player. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy through the end of WWII. He retired from Dixon Paper Co in 1989. Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy; his parents, Virgil and Anna Peacock; his brothers, Donald, Leroy, and Allison. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Darla), Vicki (Matt) Coffey; sisters, Juanita (Phil) Eyer and Eloise Taylor; grandchildren, Stephanie and Kevin Peacock; and his faithful dog, Butch. Howard was an avid golfer, outdoor enthusiast, and a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the American Stroke Association (through the American Heart Assoc.)

SCHMIDT -- Caroline Schmidt, age 108 and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, May 21, 2005. Miss Schmidt was born in Albuquerque on February 24, 1897 the daughter of Charles and Caroline Heisch Schmidt. Caroline is survived by three nephews: Richard Griffin of Riverside, CT, Robert Griffin of Vero Beach, FL, and James Griffin of Verona, NJ. She was with the Albuquerque Public Schools for almost 50 years as a teacher and in administration. She taught at Valle Vista, was Principal at Alameda, East San Jose and Barelas Schools, and served as Bernalillo County School Superintendent from 1941 to 1944. In 1947 she became the aide to Georgia Lusk, New Mexico's first Congresswoman. TAFOYA -- Laddy M. Tafoya, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 23, 2005. He is survived by daughter, Yolanda Ploor and husband, David; sister, Aurelia Ortiz, all of Albuquerque, grandsons Matthew Ploor of Chandler, AZ and Stephen Ploor and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; granddaughter Tracy Ploor and fiance, Armando Hernandez of Albuquerque; great, great granddaughters, Jessica, Jarryn and Jordan; many nieces and nephews, and good friends, Angie Elliott and Bennie Dantes. Laddy will join his wife, Tommy, in Heaven and his brothers and sisters, Mary Gaines, Marian Perry, Melcor Tafoya, Adolfo Tafoya, Lupe Montoya and Cleto Tafoya, Jr. Mr. Tafoya lived in Albuquerque, worked as an automobile mechanic at Sears Coronado Center and enjoyed his job. THURSTON -- Daniel Thurston passed away on May 22, 2005. He was born in Colorado in 1924 and was a manager at J.C. Penney for 42 years. He was a veteran, served in the United States Navy, and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, in 2001. WHITE -- George Walter, Jr., 75, passed away quietly at his home in Santa Fe on Monday, May 23, 2005. He was born to George Walter (Blanco) White and Clotilda Brown on November 18, 1929 in Carlsbad, NM. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Naida Rivera White; sons, George Walter White, III, John E. White, James B. White, Gregory B. White; daughters Anna Marie Sethman and Mary Lee White Miller. He is also survived by his brother, John K. White; and his sisters, Ann L. Stockdill and Melinda W. Itoh. George will also be missed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces, great-nephews and -nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Sean Matthew White; and his brother, Joel B. White; and stepson, Leon Stacy Hunt. George enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday. He retired from the Navy after 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer and is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served in the Seabees. He was a tremendous all around track athlete, competing while he was in the service, and he won numerous awards. After his naval career, George worked for the State of New Mexico Highway Dept until his retirement at age 65. He wrote the procedural manual for rights-of way, and loved to travel the remotest byways of New Mexico. George was a member of American Legion Post 0014 in Albuquerque, VFW Post 2951 in Santa Fe, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Chapter 2811 in Santa Fe, FRA USS, New Mexico Branch 200 and a retired Member of the International Right-of-way, New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter 53. George was an avid hunter and fisherman, a fierce chess player and made the best fudge. He was a loving and generous man and he and his wife Naida opened their hearts and home to too many to count. WILSON -- James H. Wilson, 81, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005. He is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 55 years; his daughter, Elizabeth Seider and husband Carl of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Brandon and Rhiannon; his brother-in-law, Richard Renwick (Kitty) of Rio Rancho, NM; niece and nephew, Robin Smith of Rio Rancho and Rick Renwick of Denver, CO; nieces from Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl (Tony) Shackelton, Nancy Guevara (Bob), and Theresa (Greg) Rogers. Jim was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1941 and graduated from the University of New Mexico. He served in the Air Force during WWII. Jim taught school with the Albuquerque Public Schools for 30 years. He was a loving, thoughtful person who enjoyed his family and spending time at his cabin in Colorado. Jim was loved by his family and those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. In place of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity.
