ARMIJO -- JESSIE C. Mr. Jessie C. Armijo, 52, born June 23, 1952 in Sabinal, NM and now a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 23, 2005. Jessie is survived by his children, Joe Armijo and wife, Lisa, Marcus Armijo and Liana Garza, Michelle Armijo and Jacob Chavez; four sisters, Dorothy Maestas, Irene Emsley, Lucy Lucero, Rusila Pino and husband, Ramon, Vangie Brandsford and husband, Ken; three brothers, Juan Jose Armijo and wife, Judy, Al Armijo and wife, Patsy and Chris Armijo; mother of his children, Jessica Palladini; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jessie was a member of the Catholic Church and was employed as an Electrical Journeyman for Bernalillo County. A visitation for Jessie will be Friday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Rusila Pino and her daugher, Sharon. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. BLANKLEY -- R. Blair Blankley was born on April 11, 1949 and passed away on May 21, 2005. Blair was born in Albuquerque and was raised in Anthony, NM by his parents, Roy and Betty, who predeceased him. Blair graduated from Anthony Gadsden High School in 1967. He graduated from UNM with a degree in chemistry in 1971. After graduation Blair pursued his love of golf and was the summer assistant golf pro at Oakridge Country Club in Minnesota for eight years and, during the winter, worked as a farm accountant in Anthony. After completing an additional degree in accounting at UNM, he began his career in the medical supply business and was president of Med-Systems, Inc. Blair was a beloved and trusted friend to everyone he met. He was a cherished friend (not a husband as inadvertently stated in error by the Obituary Department of The Albuquerque Publishing Company in the Albuquerque Journal on May 25, 2005) to Becky Moore and shared all of life's joys and sadness with her during their fifteen years together. Although not the biological father and grandpa, Blair was a true father and grandpa to Becky's daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen. Blair is survived by his brother, Roy Lee Blankley; Roy's wife, Dodie; and his three nephews, Scott, Patrick, and Chris; and is also survived by his loving partner, Becky and her daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen, who will miss him forever. A celebration of Blair's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2005 at The Downs of Albuquerque - - - Let it Ride! There will be a wake at the home of Art Hayman at 1719 Avenida Alturas NE at 7:00 pm that same evening.

BOWMAN -- Marie Scharn Bowman, age 96, of Albuquerque, NM, died May 23, 2005. She was born in Rotterdam, Holland on March 24, 1909. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Sorensen and husband, Ken of Edgewood, NM; granddaughter, Christina Sorensen and fiance, Robert Albright of Albuquerque, NM and granddaughter, Clarissa Sorensen and her partner, Karen Unruh, also of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Alice and husband, Jim Jackson of LaJolla, CA; twin half-brothers, Dick Scharn and wife, Becky and Jack Scharn and wife Aileen, all of California. She was a gifted registered nurse and loved people, especially children, throughout her life. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. BRIONES -- John G. Briones, 88, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2005. John was born June 12, 1916 the son of Cipriano and Inez Hernandez Briones in New Mexico. He was proud to have served in the United States Army during WW II. John was preceded in death by his precious wife, Jennie. He is survived by six children, Alfred Briones, Gilbert Briones and wife Amelia, Mary Jaramillo and husband Albert, Martin Briones and wife Diane, Barbara Valdez and husband Vern, and Kathy Pagliaro and husband Tony; one brother, Tito Briones and wife Bobbie; sixteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren,; and one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving friends and family. The Visitation for John will be held today, Thursday, May 26, 2005 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. COAD -- JAMES ERNEST. Mr. James Ernest Coad died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at a local nursing home. He was born April 15, 1910 in Seymour, CT but raised in Mansfield, MA. He was married to his beloved wife, Ruth, for almost 62 years. He is also survived by his two sons, Jim and wife, Pat of Albuquerque and Alan and wife, Rayeann of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren; Wendy Coad of Albuquerque, Adam Coad of Orange, CA, Colin Schulze and wife, Christina, stationed in the Air Force in Okinawa. In September 1932, Jim joined the U.S. Navy and served on the gunboat "Oahu" on the Yangtze River for two years. After that it was a variety of ships, both in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He retired in San Francisco in November 1953. Mr. Coad was a member of Masonic Lodges in Mansfield and Boston, MA and in Portland, ME. He also belonged to Masonic groups in Albuquerque and Gallup, NM. Jim was a member of the VFW for over 50 years. He was All American VFW State Commander in 1975. He also was a member of American Legion Post 49, Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 200 and the Elks in Gallup. CORDOVA -- Ruben C. Cordova went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2005 at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1925 in Rodey, New Mexico. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. CORRIGAN -- Lt. Col (Ret.) Patrick Joseph Corrigan passed away on May 24, 2005. He was born on May 7, 1928 to Paul C. and Mary Ellen Corrigan in Highland Park, MI. He was raised in Columbus, OH with his mother and maternal grandparents. Patrick graduated from Aquinas High School in Columbus. He attended Ohio State University and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1951. He also received a graduate diploma from the Harvard Business School in 1964. Patrick retired from the United States Air Force after 22 years of service, ending his career at the Weapons Lab at Kirtland AFB, NM. Patrick was a devoted parishioner at Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Eleanor Kasun Corrigan; sons, Patrick Corrigan and wife Eiko of Cincinnati, OH and Captain Christopher Corrigan, United States Navy Reserve, and his wife Martha of Edison, GA; daughters, Kathleen Briscoe and husband Glenn of Carnation, WA and Dr. Paula Corrigan, a Colonel in the USAF; grandchildren, Lt. G. Eric Briscoe, Alyson Briscoe, Thomas Corrigan, and Mary Wallace Corrigan; brother, Thomas Corrigan; and father-in-law, Joseph Kasun. Patrick was a generous, loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed greatly by his loved ones. FOEGLE -- Robert M. Foegle, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, NM gently passed away in his sleep after a lengthy illness. Mr. Foegle was born on May 5, 1926 to Robert and Winifred Foegle who predecease him. GIEBRASKI -- Laurence Giebraski, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died on May 20, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, whom he married on August 23, 1947; three children, Terry Lewis and husband, Gary, Gerry Barschow and Merry Smith and husband, Randy; six grandchildren, Travis, Tanner and Hannah Lewis, Staci Gann, Haley and Logan Smith; two great grandchildren, Kelby and Bradi Gann; brothers, Robert and Ronald Giebraski; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peg and Joe Dietmeier. Laurance served in the USMC from August 16, 1943 until December 16, 1945, serving in Guam, Mariana Islands, Iwo Jima and Volcano Islands, he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Mr. Giebraski lived in the Downers Grove, Naperville, Illnois area until 1977. He traveled the Southwest until settling in Albuquerque in 1981. GONZALES -- Maria "Sooky" Gonzales, age 46, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher, passed away on Monday evening, May 23, 2005 at her home, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Sooky, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Richard; her daughter, Luz Alondra and her husband Shane Fisher; sister, Rebecca Olivia Moya; mother-in- law, Rose Gonzales; brother- in- law, Larry and wife Kathy Gonzales; sister- in- law, Margaret and husband Charlie Gutierrez; brother- in- law, John Gonzales; six godchildren: Vlather, Olaf, Guadalupe, Angel, Alejandra, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sooky's passing will leave a large void in many hearts. Sooky graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez in 1986 and taught school in Juarez until 1991 when she was married and immigrated to the United States. Sooky began work with APS at Reginald Chavez Elementary School in 1996 as an Educational Assistant, while continuing her education to become a certified bilingual educator. Sooky loved children and felt her mission in life was to be an educator. Sooky had many hobbies including painting, jewelry making, and arts and crafts of all types. She loved to decorate her home and had an extensive Coca Cola memorabilia collection. Sooky loved to be "on the go" with her husband Richard and Luz Alondra before she was married. GORDON -- Eunice Ann, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, went to reside with the Lord, God Almighty, Saturday, May 21, 2005. She is survived by her husband, Byfield; sons, Fred L. Cone, III and his wife, Dale of Round Rock, TX; Kurt Clifford Cone of Terrell, TX; Christopher D. Gordon and his wife, Debra of Englewood, FL; Thomas D. Gordon and his wife, Sharon of Bainbridge, GA; and granddaughter, Brandy Michele Cone of Euless, TX. Born in Akron, IA, the daughter of the late Clifford and Sue Lanphere was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, TX. She studied art at Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, LA, Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX, and Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, TX. Eunice Ann was a distinguished artist who enjoyed painting in nearly all media. Her art works are enjoyed by all. Eunice Ann was a wonderful wife and loving, devoted mother and grandmother. HODGES -- Christine, age 80, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, May 22, 2005. Christine was a gentle, loving, and always caring mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon Lee Hodges and Sister, Annie Lee McRee. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. JAMES -- Vernal Elridge James, 81, died on Monday, May 23, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Muriel James of Albuquerque; children, Joseph, Vertiley, Marguerita, Muriel Jr., Alfred, Allyson and Norma; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Hugh; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. James is a long time member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, a member of the Coronado Club and the NCO Club. He served in the US Navy during WWII and retired after 21 years. He retired after working 24 years at Sandia National Laboratories. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. KNOWLES -- June Most Knowles, 91, died May 24, 2005. She was born in Ohio on September 2, 1913 to Karl and Laura Most. June was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Bakersfield, CA. She was a school psychologist, graduating from Long Beach State College with a Masters Degree in Psychology. June is preceded in death by her son, Arthur Kingsley Knowles, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Karl A. Most of Bullhead City, CA; her daughter, Kris Mathieson and husband, Matt; grandchildren, JoAnne Binkley and Jonathan Knowles and wife, Kelly; and several great-grandchildren. LECKEY -- Major Beth Leckey, 43, a resident of Albuquerque, died on May 22, 2005. She is survived by her husband, George Leckey; daughter, Jennifer Leckey; son, Nicholas Leckey; parents, Harold and Nell Preuss of Castalia, IA; brothers and sisters, Jeannie, Donna, Lynn, Lee, Lori, Dennis, Peggy, Kathy, Sheila, Joe; step-son, Joshua and granddaughter, Ashley Leckey. Beth joined the Air Force as a nurse in 1986 and it was her wish to travel around the world. Prior to the Air Force, she was a traveling nurse in New York and Oklahoma. Beth was a very proficient and caring nurse and decided to further her career by attending anesthesia school in San Antonio, TX in 1991. She has been a nurse anesthetist since that time. In her career, anesthesia was her true love and she was highly respected and regarded by her peers. Beth was an excellent mother and cook and loved to read. She loved her military career and served during the last Gulf war overseas and was deployed several other times. Beth was to retire from the Air Force in February and was looking forward to moving to Iowa in December to be close to her family. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Castalia, IA with full military honors. LOWE -- Jerry Lowe, 50, living in the Corrales and Albuquerque area for 42 years, left us on May 19, 2005, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Aleta; his mother, Faye Lowe of West Virginia; sons, Woody Lowe and Michael Ortiz; a brother, David and his family; and a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marge and Bill McCoy, all of New Mexico. PADILLA -- Andy Padilla, age 66, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by our Heavenly Father, Tuesday, May 24, 2005. Andy was born in Rowe, NM to the late Baudillio and Piedad Padilla; and was a resident of Bernalillo. He was preceded in death by a brother Ciprano Padilla. Andy is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sally Padilla of the family home; his wonderful children, David Padilla and wife Evelyn, Adella Archibeque and husband John, Patricia Aragon; his precious grandchildren, Joshua and Jerome Padilla, Marcus and Michael Ward, Alyssa, and Janette Archibeque, Amanda Rinaldi and husband Angelo, Erin Benavidez and wife Cari; three great-grandchildren, Adriana Rinaldi, Jonathan and Justin Benavidez. PEACOCK -- Howard S. Peacock passed away peacefully Friday May 20, 2005 following a short and unexpected illness in Gilbert, AZ. Howard was born March 2, 1927 in Hatch, NM. He attended NMSU where he was a star basketball player. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy through the end of WWII. He retired from Dixon Paper Co in 1989. Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy; his parents, Virgil and Anna Peacock; his brothers, Donald, Leroy, and Allison. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Darla), Vicki (Matt) Coffey; sisters, Juanita (Phil) Eyer and Eloise Taylor; grandchildren, Stephanie and Kevin Peacock; and his faithful dog, Butch. Howard was an avid golfer, outdoor enthusiast, and a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to the American Stroke Association (through the American Heart Assoc.)

STAMM -- Lucille Stamm passed away on May 24, 2005 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. Lucille had lived in Hollister, CA for the past year to be near her son and family. Prior to her stay in California she resided in Albuquerque, NM for 62 years. She and her late husband, John Stamm had celebrated 53 years of marriage before he passed away in May of 1989. Lucille was born Aspasia Koutsianis on August 26, 1913 in Chicago, IL. She received her education both in the United States and Greece. Besides being a devoted mother, said her family; she was a skilled artist and a excellent cook . Lucille was a avid bowler and loved going to the casinos in her later years. She is survived by her three children, Rosalia, Demetri, and Constantine; her daughters in law, Nahara and Genevieve; her grandchildren, Mark and his spouse Shadi; Barnaby; Demetra and her spouse John; and Dylan. She also leaves her friends and caregivers at the Clearview Home in Hollister; family and friends in Chicago, and Albuquerque, NM. As per her wishes arrangements have been made for private cremation and inurnment through the Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 870 San Benito St., Hollister, CA 95023. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Lucille's life and a reception on Saturday, May 28, 2005 at l2 noon at the Ridgemark Golf & County Club Mens Club Room, 3800 Airline Highway, Hollister, CA. TAFOYA -- Laddy M. Tafoya, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 23, 2005. He is survived by daughter, Yolanda Ploor and husband, David; sister, Aurelia Ortiz, all of Albuquerque, grandsons Matthew Ploor of Chandler, AZ and Stephen Ploor and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; granddaughter Tracy Ploor and fiance, Armando Hernandez of Albuquerque; great- great- granddaughters, Jessica, Jarryn and Jordan; many nieces and nephews, and good friends, Angie Elliott and Bennie Dantes. Laddy will join his wife, Tommy, in Heaven and his brothers and sisters, Mary Gaines, Marian Perry, Melcor Tafoya, Adolfo Tafoya, Lupe Montoya and Cleto Tafoya, Jr. Mr. Tafoya lived in Albuquerque, worked as an automobile mechanic at Sears Coronado Center and enjoyed his job. His hobby was working on cars. Mr. Tafoya was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Thursday May 26, 2005, 7:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. WHITE -- George Walter, Jr., 75, passed away quietly at his home in Santa Fe on Monday, May 23, 2005. He was born to George Walter (Blanco) White and Clotilda Brown on November 18, 1929 in Carlsbad, NM. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Naida Rivera White, sons, George Walter White, III, John E. White, James B. White, Gregory B. White; daughters, Anna Marie Sethman and Mary Lee White Miller. He is also survived by his brother, John K. White; and his sisters, Ann L. Stockdill and Melinda W. Itoh. George will also be missed by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces; great-nephews and -nieces; and cousins. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Sean Matthew White; and his brother, Joel B. White; and stepson, Leon Stacy Hunt. George enlisted in the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday. He retired from the Navy after 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer and is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served in the Seabees. He was a tremendous all around track athlete, competing while he was in the service, and he won numerous awards. After his naval career, George worked for the State of New Mexico Highway Dept until his retirement at age 65. He wrote the procedural manual for rights-of way, and loved to travel the remotest byways of New Mexico. George was a member of American Legion Post 0014 in Albuquerque, VFW Post 2951 in Santa Fe, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Chapter 2811 in Santa Fe, FRA USS, New Mexico Branch 200 and a retired Member of the International Right-of-way, New Mexico Roadrunner Chapter 53. George was an avid hunter and fisherman, a fierce chess player and made the best fudge. He was a loving and generous man and he and his wife Naida opened their hearts and home to too many to count. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary to follow at La Paloma Funeral Home, 1424 4th St., Santa Fe, NM. Final visitation will be Friday, May 26, 2005 at 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. with the celebration of the Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church, 11 College Ave., Santa Fe, NM. Interment following the Mass will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque, NM. Pall bearers are George Walter White, III, John Edward White, James Brand White, Gregory B. WILSON -- James H. Wilson, 81, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005. He is survived by Phyllis, his wife of 55 years; his daughter, Elizabeth Seider and husband Carl of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Brandon and Rhiannon; his brother-in-law, Richard Renwick (Kitty) of Rio Rancho, NM; niece and nephew, Robin Smith of Rio Rancho and Rick Renwick of Denver, CO; nieces from Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl (Tony) Shackelton, Nancy Guevara (Bob), and Theresa (Greg) Rogers. Jim was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1941 and graduated from the University of New Mexico. He served in the Air Force during WWII. Jim taught school with the Albuquerque Public Schools for 30 years. He was a loving, thoughtful person who enjoyed his family and spending time at his cabin in Colorado. Jim was loved by his family and those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. In place of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity. WOLLESON -- Dr. Billy M. Wolleson, age 84 of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday evening, May 22, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was born April 14, 1921 in Perry, OK, the son of William B. and Della (Morgan) Wolleson. He married Anita Beamon on January 17, 1948 in Missouri. Dr. Wolleson was a practicing physician in Albuquerque since 1951, following his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Anita F. Wolleson; his daughters, Patti Ann and husband, Frank "Corky" Frederick, Pamela and husband, Michael Bates; sons, David L. Wolleson and fiance, Gloria Sanchez, William R. Wolleson; seven grandchildren, David Bradley Wolleson and fiance, Dianna Galvan, Brittany Wolleson, Natalie Halphen, Stephanie Halphen, Jason Wolleson, Brendan Wolleson, and Ginny Frederick; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Shayla.
