ARMIJO -- Mr. John M. Armijo, 90, born February 22, 1915, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully on May 5, 2005 following a short illness with his loving family and his care givers at Ladera Nursing Home by his side and has now gone to be with his Lord. Mr. Armijo is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Mrs. Helen Armijo. Mr. Armijo is also survived by his children, Gilbert Gonzales and wife, Cindy, Pauline Heffern and husband, Dennis; his devoted grandchildren, Ricardo Padilla and wife, April, Sara Heffern and Jonny Heffern; two great -grandchildren, Diego and Monet; one brother, Lalo Armijo and wife, Jennie; nieces, nephews, Dolores, Rachel, Josie, Mary, Rita, Vincent and Michael. Mr. Armijo was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a man with a warm heart and gentle soul and will be greatly missed. A visitation for Mr. Armijo will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 noon following the Rosary by Father Daniel Balizan. Interment of Mr. Armijo's cremains will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. BORCHARDT -- Dorothy Caroline Borchardt, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2005 after a brief illness. She is survived by her only child, Carolyn Hasey and husband Richard of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Stacy Cheshire and husband Rob of Oceanside CA, and Stephanie Ferner and husband Jeff of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, William and Max Cheshire; and former son-in-law, Gary Pederson. Dorothy was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 8, 1909. She lived there until was married William Borchardt in 1937; they then moved to Minneapolis, MN and later to Chicago, IL. From 1946 until 1983, Grand Forks, ND was her home. In 1983 her family persuaded her to move to Albuquerque. Most recently she resided at the Montebello on Academy. She was an excellent seamstress and musician, being able to play the trumpet, piano, and accordion. She enjoyed singing in the choir and various other musical groups. She liked to hike, play golf, read, and go fishing. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed. Her husband, William preceded her in death in 1975 as did her three brothers and granddaughter, Shawna Rae. She will now join them in their heavenly home. Services will be held Friday May 6, 2005 at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming Blvd., at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Bruce Wilder will be officiating. GARCIA -- Joseph H. Garcia went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2005 at the age of 58. He was born on October 20, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM. He is loved and will be missed by his daughters, Tricia Medina, Leticia Medina; his son, Albert Medina; and granddaughter, Jacqui who will miss her TaTa. He is a wonderful father and a very loving man. He made us his own in every way possible and was there when we needed him. He was the only father we knew and had. Dad we will miss you, we will never forget you, and we will always love you.

GARCIA -- Patrick E. Garcia, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. Pat was born on December 11, 1933 in Dawson, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Marcos and Amelia Garcia. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kathy Hart; son, Michael and his wife, Lucinda; and grandson, Adan. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Frances Reza and husband, Henry; Juanita Bercier and husband, Eli; his niece/goddaughter, Rose Marie Reza; and nephews, Patrick Reza and wife, Patty; Vernon Reza; Craig Bercier; Dwayne Bercier and wife, Vivian; uncle, Ed Lopez and wife, Emily; aunt, Rose Ragni. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a talented artist and had illustrated a children's book "Los Ojos del Tejedor". His family wishes to express their thanks to the nursing staff at VAMC for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and private disposition will take place at a later date. A Memorial Mass will be held at Mt. Calvary Chapel 1900 Edith NE on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 10:30 a.m.

GILBERTSON -- Norma Jean Gilbertson, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 38 years died Thursday, April 28, 2005. She was born in McRea, AR on April 26, 1926 to A. Herbert and Maude (Osborne) Price. She was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Crow and husband, Bob of Moriarty; two sons, Paul Thompson and wife Ginger Johnson of Hartsville, TN and Randy Thompson of Santa Fe; a step-son, Jim Gilbertson and wife Phyllis of Albuquerque; siblings, Bennie Ruth Reese and A. Herbert Price, Jr.; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Thompson who died in 1967; second husband, Irving Gilbertson who died in 1999; siblings, Mabel Pollet, Helen Harrison, Nina Simon Wood, Oleta Williams, and Wilma (Bill) McAfee. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerry Lightwine officiating. GONZALEZ -- Lucille Gonzalez, age 67, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away, Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Mrs. Gonzalez worked for Max Factor for many years in California. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was a very loving, caring, wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. Mrs. Gonzalez was born May 25, 1937 in Nambe, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Elui Sr. and Fedaline Ortiz. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Alfonso and Larry Trujillo; one sister, Lupe and one brother, Elui Jr. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her loving husband, Arthur Gonzalez of the family home; one daughter, Suzanne Roberts; one son, Chris and wife, Margaret Trujillo; two grandsons, Frank Roberts and Eddie Trujillo all of California; one other grandson; five granddaughters; one great- granddaughter; three sisters, Emily Lujan, Juanita Martinez, Mercy Zamora and husband, Nestor all of New Mexico; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at San Jose de Duranes Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. NW. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2005. HALL -- Wesley Richard Hall, Sr., devoted husband, loving father, son, and brother, and beloved friend, passed away after a short battle with cancer. He died peacefully in the early morning on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at his home. A man of many talents and qualities, Wes was an accomplished musician, golfer, and avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His hallmark was his sense of humor, characterized by his wit, charm, grace, and sincerity. Born July 16, 1939 in Casper, WY, Wes had been a resident of Albuquerque, NM, the city he loved, since 1970. Wes is survived by his devoted wife, Maria A.(Angel); daughter, Kim H. Montoya and husband, Donn; sons, Wesley R. Hall, Jr. and W. Bryan Hall; granddaughter, Jessica C. Montoya-Jones and husband, Brian; mother, Gladys I. Mariani; sister, Shirley Hughes and husband, Bob; mother-in-law, Andrea Giron. Other survivors include numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews in New Mexico, New York, Wyoming, California, and Nevada. He is preceded in death by his son, L. HERRMANN -- David L. Mr. David L. Herrmann, 75, of Albuquerque a resident since 1990, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at his home; Mr. Herrmann was born August 24, 1929 in Gladbrook, IA, the son of Walter J. and Martha M. (Ehrig) Herrmann. He married Doris M. Bass on May 25, 1952 in Waterloo, IA. Mr. Herrmann was a educator and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, IA in 1950 with a B.A. in Business Education and also did graduate work from there. He taught in Iowa for 8 years and for 32 years in Farmington, MN and a VoTech. School in Rosemont, MN for 15 years. He was a member of Cross of Hope Lutheran Church in Albuquerque and generously shared his gift of his voice and musical talents for many years. David also belonged to The National Wood Carvers Association. He was a board member of Lutheran Home of Cannon Valley and served as their president for 7 years. He enjoyed Music, Golf, Wood Carving, Gardening and Traveling. Volunteering his time with the Minnesota Zoological Garden for 8 years and the Natural History Museum in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Doris M.; his daughter, Mary Herrmann of Shiprock, NM and his son, Joel and wife, Bridget Herrmann of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Florence Begay, Martha Hughes and Samuel, Matthew and Nicholas Herrmann. One brother, Warren W. and wife, Ramona Herrmann of Sibley, IA. One sister-in-law, Donna Herrmann of Castle Rock, MN; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, James in July of 1997. Memorial Services for Mr. Herrmann will be held Friday, May 6, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd., NW. KING -- Faye N. King, 99, a resident of Edgewood, NM died Sunday, May 1, 2005. She is survived by her son, Joe King and wife, Barbara, of Edgewood; one granddaughter, Linda King; and numerous nephews and friends. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Dora Elizabeth Northam; husband, Reuben King; sons, William Jackson King and James Raymond King; and eight brothers and sisters. She was born in Oklahoma and moved to New Mexico in 1921. She met Reuben King not long after arriving and they were married in the early 20s. Faye kept busy raising her two sons until Joe was born in 1943 and then she really got busy. In 1942 Reuben built the house that Faye lived in up until her death. Faye served as the Postmistress at Edgewood for 23 years until retiring at the age of 70. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. LOVELADY -- Fern Baker Lovelady, age 81, of Calhan, CO, passed away in her home April 29, 2005. She was born September 10, 1923 in Redford, MO to Hattie and Calvin Baker. She grew up in the Gallup, NM area and was a longtime AT&T employee in New Mexico and Arizona. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Brazell (Phil) and Dorma Freeman (Max); grandsons, Brian (Chris) and Justin (Holly) Brazell, and Tony (Becky) and Mike (Tina) Munter. She is also survived by a sister, Claire Northamer; and brothers, Paul, Lloyd, and Floyd Baker; several nieces and nephews; and great-grandchildren, Cody, Todd, Linsey, and Grant Brazell, and Derek and Kyle Munter. MELANCON -- Helen Evelyn, 86, born on October 28, 1918 in St. David, AZ. She passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Dallas, TX, surrounded by her loving family, after complications from an aneurysm. She married Nichols L. Melancon, Jr. on April 13, 1935. They spent 60 wonderful years together before his passing in May, 1995. She worked at Sandia National Labs as an accountant from 1951 until her retirement in 1979. After retirement she loved cooking, entertaining, sewing, gardening, and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Nichols Melancon III of Prairieville, LA, Patrick K. and wife, Suzanne of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She loved and lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to have known her. Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

MONTOYA -- Daniel Montoya, age 72, a lifelong resident of New Mexico passed away on Thursday May 5, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 49 1/ 2 years Margaret Montoya; three children, Michael Montoya, Patty Bergin, and Lori Montoya all of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Mary Rose Magers and husband, Tom; five grandchildren, Chris, Angela and Gabriel Montoya, Ryan Bergin, and Alan Michael Saint; two great -grandchildren, Julie Dixon, and Gabriel Daniel Montoya. Daniel was in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956; he worked for the Civil service for 36 years and for KOAT from 1956 to 1997. A Rosary will be recited on Friday May 6, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at the Risen Savior Catholic Church. REIMERS -- Frances Virginia Reimers, 85, died on Monday, April 25, 2005. Frances had lived her entire life in California until 1986 when she moved to Albuquerque. She is survived by her children: son, John Reimers of Hayward, CA; and daughter, Mary Chappelle and husband, Edsal of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce G. Reimers; parents, Bertha and Roy Johnson; and brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Charlotte Johnson. Our mother's love will never be taken away; it will always be with us as she travels on a new journey. Prior to marriage, Frances worked as an escrow and bank officer, and then became a homemaker after marriage. Her life focused on her family and her church. She loved her home and her garden, raising plants each year from seeds and tending them and enjoyed the birds who visited her garden. SMITH -- Charles R. Smith, 45, died Sunday, May 1, 2005. Charles was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and raised in Joplin, Missouri. He was the Loan Manager for TSE Bonito Finance in Gallup, NM. Charles' had a great love of sports more specifically football and was a great cook. He also enjoyed updating himself on current events and enjoyed trivia. His greatest love was being a husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Angela; son, Quinn; daughter, Lindsay; his mother, Lynn Wells; sisters, Dannalee Hornback, Heatherly Russell, Shawnda and Mishelle; his parents-in-law, Horacio and Cecilia Trujillo; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. TRUJILLO -- Ciprianita Trujillo "Cippey", age 71, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005. Born in Torreon, NM., she was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. Cippey enjoyed the activities of the Holy Family Senior Outreach program and was a grandmother to many.
