BORCHARDT -- Dorothy Caroline Borchardt, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 2, 2005 after a brief illness. She is survived by her only child, Carolyn Hasey and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Stacy Cheshire and husband, Rob of Oceanside CA, and Stephanie Ferner and husband, Jeff of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, William and Max Cheshire; and former son-in-law, Gary Pederson. Dorothy was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 8, 1909. She lived there until she married William Borchardt in 1937 they, then, moved to Minneapolis, MN and later to Chicago, IL. From 1946 until 1983, Grand Forks, ND was her home. In 1983 her family persuaded her to move to Albuquerque. Most recently she resided at the Montebello on Academy. She was an excellent seamstress and musician, being able to play the trumpet, piano, and accordion. She enjoyed singing in the choir and various other musical groups. She liked to hike, play golf, read, and go fishing. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be missed. Her husband, William, preceded her in death in 1975, as did her three brothers and granddaughter, Shawna Rae. She will now join them in their heavenly home. Viewing will be Thursday May 5, 2005 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sunrise Funeral Options at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Bruce Wilder will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Grand Forks, ND where her heart has always been. DELFINO -- Manuel R. Delfino, 7, a resident of Albuquerque passed away as the result of a car accident on April 29, 2005. Manuel is the beloved son to Ronald J. and Gina Delfino. Manuel is also survived by two brothers, Dominic Sena and Gabriel Delfino; his grandparents, Paul and Dolores Pruitt and May Delfino; great-grandmother, Aurora Perea; aunts and uncles, Adam Pruitt (his Godfather), Raymond Mendoza, Wendy Worley and husband, Larry, and Beverly Roybal (his Godmother); many cousins and friends. Manuel was a student at Hubert Humphrey Elementary School. A visitation for Manuel will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. by Larry Worley. A final visitation will be Thursday morning in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon with a Funeral Service to be held at twelve noon by Larry Worley. DOUGLAS -- Dorothy Douglas, 87, died Friday, April 29, 2005. Dorothy was born in Marville, KS and resided in Albuquerque for eight years. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Biegel, and her husband, David; sons, Ronald Douglass and wife, Joann, as well as Charles Douglas and wife, Carol; sister, Thelma Moore; as well as her grandchildren, Ronald Douglass Jr., Joanna Duarte, John Douglass, Ronald Douglas, Vivian Douglas, Jennifer Ranger, Christopher Biegel, David Douglas, Charles Douglas, and Peggy Douglas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield; grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Douglass; and John David; sisters, Margie and Maxine; and great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Fiona. Her life was devoted to her family, her Christian Science practice, which was performed for over fifty years, and many friends from all areas of the globe. GIOMI -- Ioli Gradi Giomi passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2005. Born in Lucca, Italy, March 3, 1920, Ioli studied piano and became an accomplished musician before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1948. Here she met and married Marcello Giomi. She loved her Italian heritage so much that she co-founded the "Club Culturale Italiano" and became the editor of "Il Giornalino Di Gian Burasca." This resulted in her being knighted by the Italian government for her efforts in promoting the Italian culture. A skilled accompanist and teacher, she left her mark on the musical community. Her talents and creativity extended to writing, sewing and needlecrafts. Her love of chocolate and peanut butter were only surpassed by her love for her two grandsons, Alex Hughes and Evan Giomi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcello; her sisters, Thelma, Chepy, Bombi, Siri, Elsie, and Sela; and her brothers, Lamberto, Salvatore (Ciaccio), Rico, and Arthur. She is survived by her children, Andrew Giomi and wife, Joan Blackburn, and their son, Evan; Rita Giomi of Seattle, WA; Sylvia Giomi and husband, Scott Hughes and their son, Alex; Julie and Joel Crespy; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. A Mass will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. HUFF -- James R. Huff, 73, died at his home in Albuquerque Sunday, May 1, 2005, after a long illness. MCBRIDE -- J. Steve McBride, loving son, husband, father and a friend to many died unexpectedly at his home in El Paso on April 27, 2005. Steve has lived in El Paso for the past 21 years with his wife Brenda and his children Alyssa, Lon and Ian McBride. Steve was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois on October 13th, 1950. He was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended Sandia High School. After high school he attended and graduated from The United States Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, New York followed by six years in the Navy. Steve had a long career as an engineer working with Slumberger, Ford Aerospace and Raytheon. Most recently he has worked as a substitute teacher for the El Paso Independent School District. Steve was a life long learner who loved to read and surf the internet. He also loved telling stories, especially about his Irish American heritage and the successes of his children. He had a great sense of humor and a joke for every situation. Steve was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and active in the Chapin High School PTSA. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Madeline McBride and his niece Sara Stevenson. He is survived by his wife of twenty five years, Brenda McBride; his three children, Alyssa McBride (Maui, Hawaii), Lon McBride (Fort Monmouth, New Jersey) and Ian McBride (El Paso, Texas); his father, Emmett McBride and wife, Ida; four sisters, Carol Carpenter and husband Dennis, Janet Orth, Sharon McBride and partner, SherryLynn, and Christina McBride all of the Albuquerque area; two brothers-in-law, Brian Stevenson and wife, Mary Ann (Copper Center, Alaska) and Tod Stevenson and wife, Cathy (Santa Fe, NM); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by French's Mortuary of Albuquerque, NM. MCCLURE -- Gordon W. McClure, born March 22, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant IA, died on April 23, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM, his home since 1955. He is survived by three children, John McClure of Santa Fe, NM, Judy Hulsey of Fort Worth TX, and Tom McClure of Arvada, CO; a brother, Eugene McClure of Deerfield, IL; six grandchildren; an aunt; and six cousins. He was privileged to have been helped by many wonderful friends, co-workers and mentors. He worked as a physicist at Bartol Research Foundation in Philadelphia from 1950 to 1955, and at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque from 1955 until 1982. He was coauthor of a book on physics and author of thirty publications in various physics journals. He gave numerous lectures and published many editorials on arms control, problems facing our children, economics, and health care reform. He deemed most rewarding his work on international arms control and world peace. A Memorial gathering will be held on May 8, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Church Social Hall located at Carlisle and Comanche NE. MILLER -- Carl Miller Sr., of Santa Fe, passed away on April 30, 2005. OTERO -- Fred Otero, 54, beloved son, brother and husband passed away with his loving family at his side on May 1, 2005 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Elizabeth (Villescas) Otero and his children, Albert D. Otero and Phyllis A. REIMERS -- Frances Virginia Reimers, 85, died on Monday, April 25, 2005. Frances had lived her entire life in California until 1986 when she moved to Albuquerque. She is survived by her children: son, John Reimers of Hayward, CA; and daughter, Mary Chappelle and husband, Edsal of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce G. Reimers; parents, Bertha and Roy Johnson; and brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Charlotte Johnson. Our mother's love will never be taken away; it will always be with us as she travels on a new journey. Prior to marriage, Frances worked as an escrow and bank officer, and then became a homemaker after marriage. Her life focused on her family and her church. She loved her home and her garden, raising plants each year from seeds and tending them and enjoyed the birds who visited her garden. SANCHEZ -- Leonela G. Mrs. Leonela G. Sanchez, 89, born August 13, 1915 and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 1, 2005 peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Sanchez is survived by her six children, Marie Neville and Lloyd, Rita Saladin and Dan, M.R. (Richard) Sanchez and Theresa, Robert Sanchez and Mary Jane, Sally Cordova, and Teddy Sanchez; one brother, Willie Garley and Reina; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her husband, Sosteno; a son, Leo; two sisters; and five brothers. Mrs. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mrs. Sanchez will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at San Jose de Los Duranes Catholic Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd. SANCHEZ -- Levi J. Sr. Mr. Levi J. Sanchez Sr., 61, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 1, 2005 following a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Levi is the beloved husband to Mrs. Cathy Sanchez, married for 35 years. Levi is also survived by his two sons, Levi Jr. and Brian; his mother, Eppie Quintana; five brothers, Frank Sanchez and wife, Cruzita, Ernest Sanchez and wife, Josephine, Fred Sanchez and wife, Leonor, Randy (Albert) Sanchez and wife, Blanca, Eddie Sanchez and wife, Cathy; sister in law, Dorothy Sanchez; mother in law, Andrea Gilliam; step-mother, Sara Sanchez; very dear friends, Jerry and Josie Gonzales of Wildomar, CA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins, and friends. SENA -- Guadalupe L. Sena, age 93, of Los Alamos, was called home to our Lord, on Friday, April 29, 2005. She was born to Santiago Lujan and Elena Hands. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cipriano G. Sena and son, Cipriano F. Sena. Guadalupe is survived by her daughter, Helen, spouse, Thomas Richardson; daughter-in-law, Eileen Sena Alvarez; grandchildren, Lynette Richardson, Gregory Richardson and spouse Dana, Lenore and Cipriano Sena, Elena and spouse, James Gokey, Renee and spouse Tim Sponsel; great-grandchildren, Angela, Nicole, Kayla, Ryan, Courtney, Lauren, Evan, and Ryan; sisters, Margaret Ortiz and Jane Archuleta; many beloved nephews, nieces, family members and friends. Guadalupe was a schoolteacher for 42 years in the Pecos and Los Alamos School Districts. She graduated from NM Highlands University and furthered her education at Columbia University, Pennsylvania State, and Greeley. She was a member and officer of Delta Kappa Gamma. She volunteered at the Los Alamos Medical Center gift shop for 25 years and was honored by the NM State Legislature for her dedication and contribution to education and again when she was selected as one of Los Alamos' Living Treasures in September 2001. Guadalupe also served her church in Los Alamos as a Eucharistic Minister. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, May 3, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. SUAZO -- Caroline T. Suazo, age 73 of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Victor Suazo; her son, Lawrence Suazo and wife, Sandra, and children, Jessie and Jenna of Bayfield, CO; son, Keith Suazo and wife, Jeanette, and children, Victoria and Ryan of Albuquerque; siblings, Mary Alice Martinez, Ema Sanchez, and Larry Trujillo, all of Albuquerque. Caroline was born in Vallecitos, NM. She graduated from McCurdy Mission High School, in Santa Cruz, NM. After her college graduation she returned to teach at McCurdy Mission. Later, Caroline and Victor taught school in Hooper Bay and Alakanuk, AK. She retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1987. Caroline survived a series of illnesses since her retirement. She received a liver transplant in 1991, cardiac by-pass surgery in 2002 and was undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The family extends their heart-felt thanks to Dr. Richard Ming, Dr. Leonard Sanders, Dr. Hoang Nguyen, Dr. Ruby Bendersky and the healthcare staff in the Dialysis unit at Lovelace Sandia Medical Center. Our thanks is also extended to the Second Presbyterian Church members and staff who have supported Caroline over the years. TUMULAK -- Mary Tumulak, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2005. Mary a past resident of San Diego, Calf.; retired from the YMCA as a housekeeper. She lived in Albuquerque after the death of her sister in law Carmen Garcia. Mary was devoted to her church in San Diego, and her loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Tumulak. Mary is survived by her brother, Jesus Garcia of Albuquerque; nephew, Gustavo Garcia of Albuquerque; and great nephew, Victor Garcia and wife, Molly of Albuquerque; and many friends in San Diego, Calif., and Dallas, Texas.
