BARTHOLOMEW -- James I. Bartholomew "Jim" passed away on May 25, 2005. Jim was born in Raton, NM on October 11, 1938, and raised in Albuquerque, NM. He is preceded in death by his sister, Kay Loftin. He is survived by his wife, Flora Bartholomew, his brother, John Bartholomew, his brother-in-law, Steve Loftin of GA; two nieces, Lisa Inagawa of Peach Tree, GA and Sandy Loftin of Denver, CO; close friends, Scott and Mary Connors and their family, Carolyn Reinicke and her family, all of whom loved Jim and thought of him as family; as well as many, many other friends who will miss him greatly. Jim graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1961 and graduated with his law degree from Oklahoma City University in 1967. He has been a member of the New Mexico State Bar since August, 1967 and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Los Altos Church of the Nazarene, 215 Erbbe NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123.

BLANKLEY -- R. Blair Blankley was born on April 11, 1949 and passed away on May 21, 2005. Blair was born in Albuquerque and was raised in Anthony, NM by his parents, Roy and Betty, who predeceased him. Blair graduated from Anthony Gadsden High School in 1967. He graduated from UNM with a degree in chemistry in 1971. After graduation Blair pursued his love of golf and was the summer assistant golf pro at Oakridge Country Club in Minnesota for eight years and, during the winter, worked as a farm accountant in Anthony. After completing an additional degree in accounting at UNM, he began his career in the medical supply business and was president of Med-Systems, Inc. Blair was a beloved and trusted friend to everyone he met. He was a cherished friend to Becky Moore and shared all of life's joys and sadness with her during their fifteen years together. Although not the biological father and grandpa, Blair was a true father and grandpa to Becky's daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen. Blair is survived by his brother, Roy Lee Blankley; Roy's wife, Dodie; and his three nephews, Scott, Patrick, and Chris; and is also survived by his loving partner, Becky and her daughter, Tori and granddaughter, Aspen, who will miss him forever. A celebration of Blair's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2005 at The Downs of Albuquerque - - - Let it Ride! There will be a wake at the home of Art Hayman at 1719 Avenida Alturas NE at 7:00 pm that same evening.

BOWMAN -- Marie Scharn Bowman, age 96, of Albuquerque, NM, died May 23, 2005. She was born in Rotterdam, Holland on March 24, 1909. She is survived by her daughter, Annette Sorensen and husband, Ken of Edgewood, NM; granddaughter, Christina Sorensen and fiance, Robert Albright of Albuquerque, NM and granddaughter, Clarissa Sorensen and her partner, Karen Unruh, also of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Alice and husband, Jim Jackson of LaJolla, CA; twin half-brothers, Dick Scharn and wife, Becky and Jack Scharn and wife Aileen, all of California. She was a gifted registered nurse and loved people, especially children, throughout her life. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 10:00 a.m., at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah. CORDOVA -- Ruben C. Cordova went home to be with the Lord on May 24, 2005 at the age of 80. He was born on February 12, 1925 in Rodey, New Mexico. GONZALES -- Maria "Sooky" Gonzales, age 46, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend, and teacher, passed away on Monday evening, May 23, 2005 at her home, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Sooky, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, was born and raised in Juarez, Mexico. She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Richard; her daughter, Luz Alondra and her husband Shane Fisher; sister, Rebecca Olivia Moya; mother in law, Rose Gonzales; brother in law, Larry and wife Kathy Gonzales; sister in law, Margaret and husband Charlie Gutierrez; brother in law, John Gonzales; six godchildren: Vlather, Olaf, Guadalupe, Angel, Alejandra, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sooky's passing will leave a large void in many hearts. Sooky graduated from the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez in 1986 and taught school in Juarez until 1991 when she was married and immigrated to the United States. Sooky began work with APS at Reginald Chavez Elementary School in 1996 as an Educational Assistant, while continuing her education to become a certified bilingual educator. Sooky loved children and felt her mission in life was to be an educator. Sooky had many hobbies including painting, jewelry making, and arts and crafts of all types. She loved to decorate her home and had an extensive Coca Cola memorabilia collection. Sooky loved to be "on the go" with her husband Richard and Luz Alondra before she was married. HALE -- Jenifer DeAnne Hale December 19, 1980 - May 25, 2005 Beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. Jenifer was taken from us suddenly by her epilepsy. She brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. Her voice, her laughter, her beautiful smile, and the silly songs she was always making up are now just memories, memories that will never be lost. God created such a special person, a caretaker of animals, a fighter of lost causes. Heaven is a brighter place now. God, please take care of her until we can be with her again. KLEBANOFF -- M. Robert (Bob) Klebanoff, MD, passed away peacefully and quickly on May 24, 2005. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Jo Klebanoff in 1990 and his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Kasarda Klebanoff in 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Nina A. Klebanoff, Ph.D., of Taos Country and Santa Fe, NM; son, David M. Klebanoff, M.D. in Mesa, AZ, John L. Klebanoff in New York City, NY; and granddaughters, Amanda C. Klebanoff and Lindsay D. Klebanoff of Mesa, AZ. He was born in New York City in 1918, was graduated as an M.D. in 1943 from the University of Oklahoma-Norman after obtaining a B.S. in Biology. He entered the U.S. Army in 1944 and was assigned to the 82nd Field Hospital on the Surgical Service in Okinawa, the Philippines, and Korea. After residencies at the Kingsbridge VA Hospital and Neurological Institute at Columbia University in New York, NY, he moved to Albuquerque in 1952 becoming the second Neurosurgeon in the state of New Mexico. He was board certified as a neurosurgeon in 1964. His belief in healthcare for all was unsurpassed. The surviving members of his family fondly remember him for his dedication. LECKEY -- Major Beth Leckey, 43, a resident of Albuquerque, died on May 22, 2005. She is survived by her husband, George Leckey; daughter, Jennifer Leckey; son, Nicholas Leckey; parents, Harold and Nell Preuss of Castalia, IA; brothers and sisters, Jeannie, Donna, Lynn, Lee, Lori, Dennis, Peggy, Kathy, Sheila, Joe; step-son, Joshua and granddaughter, Ashley Leckey. Beth joined the Air Force as a nurse in 1986 and it was her wish to travel around the world. Prior to the Air Force, she was a traveling nurse in New York and Oklahoma. Beth was a very proficient and caring nurse and decided to further her career by attending anesthesia school in San Antonio, TX in 1991. She has been a nurse anesthetist since that time. In her career, anesthesia was her true love and she was highly respected and regarded by her peers. Beth was an excellent mother and cook and loved to read. She loved her military career and served during the last Gulf war overseas and was deployed several other times. Beth was to retire from the Air Force in February and was looking forward to moving to Iowa in December to be close to her family. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in Castalia, IA with full military honors. NICHOLSON -- Pablita (Polly) Nicholson died peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2005, surrounded by family. Pablita was preceded in death by her parents, Adelaida and Marcelino Pacheco; brother, Frank Pacheco; and sister, Mary Valdez. Pablita is survived by her sons, David Wayne and John Paul Nicholson; daughter-in-law, Sally; grandchildren, Ethan and Rose Scott and their mother, Susan; grandchildren, Tarah and Thomas Nicholson; great-grandson, Julian Lares; and several loving nieces and nephews. Pablita grew up in Mora, NM, and later lived in Los Alamos and Alamogordo before settling in Albuquerque. Pablita worked hard all her life, beginning with her family farm in Mora. Following graduation, she worked at Los Alamos National Labs. She was a homemaker while raising her sons, then later retired from the Social Security Administration. She loved being a grandma, and delighted in passing on traditions to her children and grandchildren such as herbal remedies and games from her youth. Her passion for gardening paid off with bountiful harvests and beautiful blooms! As she requested, cremation has taken place. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix NE. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Queen of Heaven. Private burial will take place at a later date. We would like to thank the friends and family who have responded with loving thoughts and prayers, and for all the help we've received through this difficult time.

PEACOCK -- Howard S. Peacock passed away peacefully Friday May 20, 2005 following a short and unexpected illness in Gilbert, AZ. Howard was born March 2, 1927 in Hatch, NM. He attended NMSU where he was a star basketball player. He went on to enlist in the U.S. Navy through the end of WWII. He retired from Dixon Paper Co in 1989. Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy; his parents, Virgil and Anna Peacock; his brothers, Donald, Leroy, and Allison. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Darla), Vicki (Matt) Coffey; sisters, Juanita (Phil) Eyer and Eloise Taylor; grandchildren, Stephanie and Kevin Peacock; and his faithful dog, Butch. Howard was an avid golfer, outdoor enthusiast, and a loving husband, father, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. TAFOYA -- Laddy M. Tafoya, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 23, 2005. He is survived by daughter, Yolanda Ploor and husband, David; sister, Aurelia Ortiz, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Matthew Ploor of Chandler, AZ and Stephen Ploor and wife, Linda of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Tracy Ploor and fiance, Armando Hernandez of Albuquerque; great-great-granddaughters, Jessica, Jarryn and Jordan; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Angie Elliott and Bennie Dantes. Laddy will join his wife, Tommy, in Heaven and his brothers and sisters, Mary Gaines, Marian Perry, Melcor Tafoya, Adolfo Tafoya, Lupe Montoya, and Cleto Tafoya, Jr. Mr. Tafoya lived in Albuquerque, worked as an automobile mechanic at Sears Coronado Center and enjoyed his job. WOLLESON -- Dr. Billy M. Wolleson, age 84 of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday evening, May 22, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was born April 14, 1921 in Perry, OK, the son of William B. and Della (Morgan) Wolleson. He married Anita Beamon on January 17, 1948 in Missouri. Dr. Wolleson was a practicing physician in Albuquerque since 1951, following his service in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Anita F.
