ARAGON-NUNEZ -- Kimberly Ann Aragon-Nunez, age 34, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM, born August 24, 1975, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Kimberly was tragically killed in a car accident along with her co-worker Janice Flores in Albuquerque, NM. She was born and raised in Pojoaque Valley and graduated from Pojoaque High School. Kim received a BS in Family & Consumer Sciences from Eastern New Mexico University. She was the WIC Director at First Choice Community Healthcare in Albuquerque. She is survived by her beloved Mother Joyce (Roybal) Aragon, Father Pete Aragon and was the loving wife of Noel Nunez for over nine years. Kim will forever be remembered by her beloved children Tristan (12), Kameryn (eight) and Jaiden (six); devoted brothers, Lucas, Joseph Anatra; and maternal grandmother Amalia "Molly" Roybal. She was loved by her mother-in-law Carol Acosta Flores; sister-in-law Naomi Cano (husband Rafeal); brothers-in-law Donnie (wife Dolores) and Danny Nunez and their grandmother Conchita Acosta. She was loved by many uncles, aunts, and cousins along with countless friends and family whom were blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Jose Salomon Roybal; paternal grandparents Gaspar and Lucianita Ortiz and Macario and Emilia Aragon. Kim loved laughing, singing, being with her family, having fun with friends and helping others. She loved her husband, kids and family very much. Kim touched the lives of many people with her contagious smile and always saw the good in everyone. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter and sister and lit up every room she walked into. BODOUR -- Capt. Haig Bodour, SC (Supply Corps), USNR (Ret), 70, passed away, Monday, February 1, 2010 in Houston, Texas, after a courageous battle against lymphoma. He was born October 30, 1939 in Fort Worth to Angele and Harry Bodour, survivors of the Armenian genocide. Haig received a BA and Masters from the UNM where he was in the ROTC program and a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He married his college sweetheart, Sharon Kathleen "Kathy" Riley. Haig owned and operated the Old Town Copy and Office Supply on Central Avenue and Bodour Enterprise Real-estate Broker. Haig was member of the Association of the United States Navy where he served as VP of the National Budget and Finance Committee. Haig was president of The Opera Guilds of New Mexico and active in the Albuquerque chapter. He was also an avid supported the Albuquerque Opera, Albuquerque Symphony and the Santa Fe Opera. Haig is survived by Kathy, his wife; son, Armen Francis Bodour of Fairfax, Virginia; daughter, Adria Angele Bodour-Romo and husband, Reggie Romo of San Antonio, Texas; mother-in-law, Frances Riley of Albuquerque; brother, Edward Harry Bodour of Austin; sister Alice Galoostian and husband, Josef of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. BRITO -- Elizabeth (Liz) Ruth Brito, 22, passed away suddenly on Saturday April 3, 2010. Elizabeth was born in Santa Fe, NM and raised in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Filia Madrid and cousin Joseph James Montoya. She is survived by her mother Connie Madrid-Romero; stepfather John Romero; her loving grandfather Charlie G. Madrid; brother Juan Brito; and nephews, Jacob Brito and Dominic Gonzales; other survivors include aunts and uncles: Rosella and Max Montoya, Priscilla Madrid, Hilda and James Madrid, Ernest Madrid and Susie Trujillo; cousins: Michelle and Mark Madrid, Vangie and Matthew Madrid, Sandy and Patrick Madrid, Teresa Madrid, Gloria and Eric Bornman, Jeanette and Dennis Ortiz and Ernie Madrid; great aunts and uncles: Mollie Garcia, Helen and Louie Vigil, and Ida Leyba. CARSON -- Donald "Don" G. Carson passed away on April 4, 2010. Don was born in Washington D.C. January 31, 1930 the son of Wilford and Persis Carson. He is survived by his wife Betty of Albuquerque; son Gary Carson, wife Karen and their son Tyler of Golden, CO; daughter Terry Edwards, husband William (Bill) of Burns, OR, and their children Joshua and Nicole of Boise, ID; daughter Linda Creer of Petaluma, CA, and her children Nathan of Petaluma and Rebecca of Norwalk, CA; brother Russell Carson of Grand Junction, CO; and brother Roger Carson and wife Dianne of Stone Mountain, GA. Don was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gary. Don was blessed with three great grandchildren (Tyler, Ryan and Kiley). Don joined the Air Force in 1950, and spent three years in Alaska as a photographer and Editor of the Base newspaper. While in Fairbanks he met and married Betty. They had been married 58 years at his death. Don said he was able to do almost everything he ever wanted to do in life. He photographed hunting expeditions in Africa, did solar research at Sacramento Peak Observatory, Sunspot, NM, observed solar annular eclipses for NASA in Kheur Souce, Senegal; Oudtshoorn, South Africa and ChaingMai, Thailand determining the precise shape of the moon prior to the first lunar orbiters. He enjoyed fishing wherever he lived. He helped to design and build the first production solar telescopes built in the United States. Don was a business owner and entrepreneur in Albuquerque beginning in 1979. He formed Sagebrush Technology Inc., inventing a novel rotary drive system (the Roto-Lok rotary drive) and managed that firm until it was sold in 1999. He retired in 2000. Don accepted Christ as his Savior and will be spending eternity in glory with Him. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Presbyterian Home Care and Hospice caregivers who gave expert advice and special care. COLKET -- Patricia Ann Colket, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Colket was born June 4, 1934 in Deadwood, SD and lived in Spearfish, SD till the age of six when she moved with her parents to Denver, CO. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Colonel Charles H. (Duke) Colket; three daughters, Lisa C. Schrimsher and her husband Rick of Houston, TX, Lauri C. Youngblood and her husband Scott of Charlotte, NC, Leslie C. Jackson and her husband Tim of Fairview, TX; and grandchildren Madison, Jack and Grace Schrimsher, Spencer and Weston Youngblood and Katya and Reagan Jackson. She was a 1952 graduate of North High School, Denver, CO and earned a BA in 1956 at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO. During her life she lived with her husband in the Philippines, Italy, Germany, and at many military installations in the United States. Mrs. Colket was an avid fitness and exercise enthusiast and completed numerous marathons to include running the 1985 New York City Marathon with her daughter Lauri. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, Colorado State University Alumni Association, and Master Runners. She was a past member of St. Mark's-on-the-Mesa Episcopal Church for over 30 years where she had been a member of the vestry and many other committees. She was a charter member of Christ the King Anglican Church and served on the Altar Guild and as a hostess with Luminaries. She also was a discussion leader for Bible Study Home Groups and attended Bible Study Fellowship for seven years. Mrs. Colket spent many hours hiking the foothills of the Sandias as an Open Space Trail Watch Volunteer. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world. Memorial services will be held at Christ the King Anglican Church on Saturday April 10 at 11:00. CONKLE -- Eleanor Mae Conkle passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning on April 7, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eleanor spent many years in the mountains of Northern New Mexico with her family and her beloved Sister. She gave her time to the 4-H Clubs and the Women's Extension Club and had a close circle of friends. She had been an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Conkle; daughter Carolyn Sue Thompson; and a brother Edwin Fluke. DERIEG -- Ina Ruth Derieg, 76, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010. She is survived by her children, Aileen Derieg and husband, Peter Huttsmanburgur of Linz, Austria, Daniel Derieg and wife, Kris of Albuquerque, James Derieg and wife, Sara Lawlor of Kemble, U.K., and Patrick Derieg of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Jack, Joseph, Christopher, Charlotte, Russell, Patrick, and Katrina. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Derieg; and daughter, Amy Boehms. Ina was born in Spur, TX and lived in several places in the southwest, including Tucson, AZ, Glendale, CA and Boerne, TX. Her hobbies were sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren as well as quilting. Ina was a fantastic cook and enjoyed baking for her family and friends. She was the PTA president in Glendale, CA. She worked for Albuquerque Public Schools as an Administrative Secretary for 16 years. Ina was a wonderful, kind-hearted person and she will be missed. GALLEGOS -- Susan June Gallegos, 47 went home on the Lord's Resurrection day, Easter, April 4, 2010 after a six year battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Duran. MOON -- Danny Moon was born in Atlanta, GA on May 12, 1949, to George and Rowena Moon. He is survived by his wife Lillian of 40 years; daughter, Karey Johnson, son-in-law William; grandchildren, Isiah, Noah, and Gabriellah; daughter, Kristy Peck, son-in-law Wade; grandchildren Whitney and Audrey; mother, Rowena Moon; brother, Thomas Moon; sister, Shirley Parker and her husband John. Danny proudly served his country as an Airman in Vietnam. He attended Del Norte Baptist Church where he was an active member of the Men's Sunday school class. He taught at El Dorado High School for 25 years. He also coached high school baseball and American Legion baseball for 15 years. Danny was the proud founder of Charter Vocational High School where he continued to positively impact the lives of students until his retirement in 2005. He will be profoundly missed by his family but we know he is no longer in pain and is rejoicing with his Savior. PROUT -- Corinne E Prout, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2010. Corinne is survived by her sister, Evangeline Perovich, nieces, Regina Moynihan (Tim) Christine Voliva (Tom White) all of Albuquerque, son-in-law Steve Kisley (Barbara) of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Dorian Hallett (Sean) of Singapore; Steve Kisley, Chicago, IL; and two great grandchildren, Jack and Charlie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jerrilynn Kisley. Cora had a passion for traveling and visited many countries during her lifetime. She lived her adult life in Baltimore & Potomac, MD. After the death of her daughter she returned to her beloved New Mexico. Cora enjoyed her daily crossword puzzle and solitaire card game. She was an avid fan of Law & Order and CSI. RICH -- Billie Ruth Harper Rich, age 80, passed away March 30, 2010. Mrs. Rich was born August 26, 1929 in Lockney, TX, to Bill and Vera Harper. Billie graduated Carlsbad High School, Carlsbad, NM. Billie married Henry Bruce Rich, Jr. December 29, 1948. Together, they shared a life of loving and serving their Lord. Billie supported Bruce as he began his training at Wayland Baptist College. Together they served in churches in Texas, New Mexico, and Oregon. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Billie's love and devotion as wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend is what she will be most remembered for. She lives on in our hearts and will be deeply missed. Survivors include husband ,Henry Bruce Rich, Jr. of Amarillo; three daughters, Linda Siegfried and husband, Jerry of Antioch, CA, Diane Teague of Austin, TX, Jan Gilbert of Bend, OR; one son, Rodney Rich and wife, Helen of Amarillo; two sisters, Shirley Jackson Cox of Lubbock, TX, Nadine Timlin of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Kenneth Harper and wife, Georgia of Dewey, AZ; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. RICHARDSON -- Liz Richardson passed away in Santa Fe on April 5, 2010. Liz moved with her three children to Albuquerque in 1964 to marry J. O. "Dutch" Richardson. She was an active volunteer in many organizations and during her time in Albuquerque. She served on the board of the New Mexico Arts and Crafts Fair and was the Fair manager in 1972. She also served on the Presbyterian Hospital Auxiliary, the Assistance League of Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Women's Symphony Association, the Girl Scout Council, Chapter AM of PEO, and Las Amapolas Garden Club. She enjoyed activities with Dutch with the Shrine Air Patrol and at Four Hills Country Club. She is survived by her children, Paul Richardson and wife Kim, of Los Angeles, CA. Jerry Richardson of Santa Fe, and Kathy Robertson and husband Tim, of Washington DC; She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian and Patrick Robertson and Clare Richardson. There will be no memorial services. Her remains have been cremated and will be returned to Lexington, Nebraska, where she was raised, and where she returned to live after leaving Albuquerque. ROMERO -- Beatrice (Betty) Emilia Costales Romero ended her earthly journey and went home on April 5, 2010 surrounded by her husband Alfredo (Freddy) Romero; her children, Roberta Simoni, Wanda Porcella, David Romero, Richard Romero and life-time friend Armida Quezada. Betty and Freddy would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 3, 2010. Betty was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 1, 1934. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her sister Esther Forman; brother-in-law Fred Forman, her sister Armida Quezada; daughters-in-law, Sheryl and Lisa; grandchildren, Lisa Simoni-Youtz and husband Shane, Arthur Simoni, David Matthew Romero, Jason Abel Romero and wife Denise, Robert Vaughn Romero, Esther Ann Porcella Campos and husband Michael, Richard Alfredo Porcella; great-grandchildren, Aleksandra Simoni, Olivia Simoni, Luna Simoni, Kahlo Youtz, Cassady Youtz, Lucia Youtz, Dillon Romero, Eden Romero, Blake Romero, Dayanara Romero, Jared Romero and Giulia Campos and a multitude of loving relatives and friends. Betty was a force of nature and once a friend, always a friend. She was an inspiration to many. Her loving nature and kind and generous spirit will live on in those who came to know and love her. RUILOBA -- Delia Jovita Ruiloba, 68, a life long resident of Albuquerque passed away on Tuesday April 6, 2010. Delia is survived by her loving husband Jose Sr.; sons, Jose Jr. and wife Gloria, Patricio and wife Denise, Antonio and wife Ruth; daughter, Angela Crane and husband Chris; two sisters; 4 brothers; and fifteen grandchildren, Miguel, Andres, Esteban, Marisa, Isaac, and Eliana Ruiloba, Angel, Ashleigh, Zechariah, Isaiah, Elijah, and Rebekah Crane, Joelle, Gabriella, and Josiah Ruiloba. SAYLOR -- Richard G. (Dick) Saylor CWO-4 United States Army Retired. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1926 to Walter and Eva, Richard and Ruth, his twin sister were the youngest of four children. Richard was industrious as the depression began in earnest and his Mother passed away at age 12. He had a paper route and rode his bicycle five miles each way to work earning 15 cents per hour. When his family moved to a new home, he met Doris Gable, his new neighbor who became the love of his life and attended Reading High. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy after the outbreak of World War II and served in the South Pacific on an LSM, a 202 ft. landing ship that delivered tanks and men during the invasion of Okinawa. After the war, he married Doris in 1946 and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1948, his daughter Susan was born and in 1951, his son Richard while Dick stationed in Anchorage Alaska. Over his 34 year distinguished military career where he eventually became an officer, he served in Louisiana, Texas, California, Korea, Washington, Italy, Germany, France, Hawaii, New York, Arizona and New Mexico where he helped found the Nuclear Weapons Training Center at Sandia Base. He worked all over the world as an expert in nuclear warhead assembly and material handling, conducting inspections for NATO missile sites and teaching proper maintenance and procedures of the nuclear weapons arsenal. A Boy Scout himself, he was the Scoutmaster of his son's Boy Scout Troop in Hawaii and took the entire troop to the Big Island of Hawaii to watch the eruption of the Kilauea volcano. He later became the Scoutmaster of an Explorer Scout Troop. During his entire life, he ALWAYS loved being of service to others and an exemplary role model to kids and others due to his rare and rigid standards of honesty, being impeccable with your word, patriotism, and work ethic. After retirement, Richard and Doris, joined Mobile Missionary Assistance Program and traveled the country in their various campers building, repairing, assisting and funding the support of orphanages, churches and schools. He was a 23 year volunteer at the VA Hospital where he recently received an award for 10,000 hours of service. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, his family, and serving those in need. He was immensely proud of the accomplishments of his daughter, Susan Fox (William), PhD; his son Richard's business acumen; and those of his grandchildren, Jeremy PhD (Allene Whitney, MD), Jillian BA (Steve McAllister), Brandon (BS), Jonathan, Christopher and Grant; great-grandaughter Merridy; and Mikey his Bischon. He was a member of the Zia Romers, Retired Officer's Assn, MOAA, Shriners, Masons, Meadowlark SR Fishing Club, Paradise Hills Methodist Church, The Good Sam Club, and DAV. He was a long term benefactor of the Rescue Mission, Boy's and Girl's Ranch and the orphanage in Tecate, California. After the death of his beloved Doris, he continued to serve at the VA Hospital and for his new friends at Fairwinds Retirement Community in Rio Rancho. A celebration of his extraordinary life will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Paradise Hills Methodist Church 4700 Paradise Blvd. N.W. Albuq. NM 87114, Pastor David Snyman presiding. WATSON -- Carol E. Watson, a long-time resident of the Village of Los Ranchos, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at St. Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, KS surrounded by those who loved her most. Carol grew up in Roy, NM and attended the University of New Mexico before starting her career in banking and her family. Although she spent most of her adult life in the Albuquerque area, she also spent numerous years enjoying life in Newport Beach, CA before returning home to New Mexico. Carol had recently relocated to the Kansas City area to be closer to her daughter. Carol could never pass up a good garage sale. She loved all things collectible and enjoyed hunting for treasures to add to her antique and collectible booth. She was happiest when surrounded by her friends and family, and most especially, her little dog, Danny. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly L. Watson and her life partner, Kim Osbahr of Kansas City, MO; former husband and good friend, Gary Watson and his wife Maureen of Little Rock, AR. Carol was preceded in death by her son Craig T. Watson; her parents, Clay (Red) and Marge Bowman; and her brother, Bill Bowman. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the wonderful friends and acquaintances who embraced Carol throughout her life. ZIMMER -- Sarah "Sally" Olert Zimmer. Died on April 5, 2010. Sally (Sarah Kay Olert) was born May 25, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her father, Dr. Frederick Olert, was a prominent Presbyterian minister and her mother, Sarah, was a pillar of the church. They were devoted to each other, their family, and their faith. Sally had a happy upbringing along with her four smart and lively siblings. She attended Wooster College, in Wooster, Ohio, and during a summer vacation at beautiful Walloon Lake, Michigan, she met her husband-to-be, John Wenzel Zimmer. Like Sally's, John's family spent every summer at the lake, and the couple's first date was by boat, a vintage Chris-Craft. After marrying in 1960, Sally and John spent summers together at Walloon, a tradition their children and grandchildren are continuing. John graduated from both Duke University and the University of Michigan, and had a long career in the publishing and printing business. Sally and John raised two children, first in Lake Bluff and Lake Forest, Illinois, then in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Over the years, Sally put her heart into an array of causes, including the Presbyterian Church, the League of Women Voters and a variety of community and civic jobs. She worked at the Ferry Hall School and Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. She was also an administrator at Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a position she held for fifteen years before retiring in 2007 and moving back to Lake Forest, a place where she had close friends and a long history. As well as being hard-working, family focused, and devoted to her faith, Sally modeled professionally, was an excellent golfer and bridge player, and was a gracious and fun-loving hostess and friend. Sally was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. She is survived by son David Christian, wife Jane; and granddaughters, Lucile Jane and Gabrielle Christine of Wauconda, Illinois; daughter Sarah Lucile and husband Jim Sleeper of Solana Beach, California; sister Mary Boyd and husband Joseph of Nashville, Tennessee; sister Grace Dailey of Marietta, Georgia; brother Frederick Olert and wife Carol of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sister Susan Dowell of Pensacola, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
