Beatrice (Betty) Emilia Costales Romero ended her earthly journey and went home on April 5, 2010 surrounded by her husband Alfredo (Freddy) Romero; her children, Roberta Simoni, Wanda Porcella, David Romero, Richard Romero and life-time friend Armida Quezada. Betty and Freddy would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 3, 2010. Betty was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 1, 1934. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her sister Esther Forman; brother-in-law Fred Forman, her sister Armida Quezada; daughters-in-law, Sheryl and Lisa; grandchildren, Lisa Simoni-Youtz and husband Shane, Arthur Simoni, David Matthew Romero, Jason Abel Romero and wife Denise, Robert Vaughn Romero, Esther Ann Porcella Campos and husband Michael, Richard Alfredo Porcella; great-grandchildren, Aleksandra Simoni, Olivia Simoni, Luna Simoni, Kahlo Youtz, Cassady Youtz, Lucia Youtz, Dillon Romero, Eden Romero, Blake Romero, Dayanara Romero, Jared Romero and Giulia Campos and a multitude of loving relatives and friends. Betty was a force of nature and once a friend, always a friend. She was an inspiration to many. Her loving nature and kind and generous spirit will live on in those who came to know and love her. Betty's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the excellent care-givers and friends from Presbyterian Hospice who Betty came to love as they shared her strong belief that life was to be lived to the fullest each and every day. Services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church, 700 Granite Avenue N.W. in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, Betty's family would like donations sent to the Richard Quezada Memorial at Presbyterian Foundation, 1100 Central Avenue, S.E., Albuquerque, NM 87106.
