Sharon brought a smile to her family's face when she adamantly stated, "I didn't do it! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!" Miss Sutherland's dream was to use her G.I. Bill and become an elementary school science teacher. Sharon deeply loved and cared for people. She encouraged others to share their joys, worries, and concerns with her. She joined the US Army at the age of 18 in order to "do something" with her life. Miss Sutherland has served one tour in Iraq and was a soldier through and through. She served as an Airborne Parachute Rigger, Patriot Missile Monitor and Maintenance, and recently earned her Maroon Beret. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Armenta Lorraine Latin; and great-grandfather, David Edward Wilkinson.
