OYENIK -- Virginia B. Oyenik, 85, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2008. She was born May 25, 1923, a daughter of Francisco and Elvira Bal. She was a dedicated Air Force wife and loving mother to her four children. Survivors include her children; Sherry Berry, Albuquerque; Darla (Guy) Lewis, Onalaska, WA; Andrew "Skip" Oyenik, Albuquerque; Mark Oyenik and partner, Jennifer Hodgson, Rio Rancho; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one sister; Louise Young of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; and one brother,Robert Bal. PETERS -- Jan C. Peters, 51, died on Sunday. She was preceeded in death by her parents: John C. and Ruth W. Peters. Jan is survived by her husband, Mike Mendez; daughters: Melissa Jantz and Carrie Moore and husband, Mike; brother: Keith Peters and wife, Melonie; sisters: Pam Holden and husband, Fred; Bern Powers and husband, John; Jacque Peters; 3 grandchildren: Evan Jantz, Austin, and Emma Moore; and nephew: Buck Holden with wife, Beth and son, Travis. Jan loved to be with her grandchildren. She also loved yardwork, riding Harleys, playing pool, and being with friends and family. She has been cremated and there are no services scheduled. RAUEN -- Sarah Rauen, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948 with a period of several years in Santa Fe, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008. She is survived by her two sons Dennis Cummings of Tucson, AZ and Greg Scudder of Albuquerque; one grandson and one great-grandson; and two sisters Mary Ann Carroll of Kansas City, MO and Roberta Capdeville of Bakersfield, CA. RAWITZER -- Katherine C. Rawitzer, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died July 14, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William J. Rawitzer. Kathie is survived by daughter Kate Dwyer and husband Terry, Albuquerque; sons, Bill Rawitzer and wife Linda, Albuquerque, Tom Rawitzer and wife Barbara, Grand Marais, MN.; seven grandchildren, Mark Kelly, Leslie Kelly, Tom Kelly, Chris Rawitzer, Carrie Rawitzer, Mike Rawitzer, and T.J. Rawitzer; great-grandchildren, Bridget and Megan Kelly, Grace and Patrick Kelly, Sam and Maddy Gyongyosi, Lucy and Claudia Rawitzer. Memorial Services will be Saturday, August 2, 2008, 2:00 p.m. at La Vida Llena Retirement Community, 10501 LaGrima de Oro Rd, NE, Albuq., NM. RENFRO -- Frances M. Renfro, 94, of Albuquerque, died July 15, 2008. Turning over a new leaf. She was born February 25, 1914 on her grandparent's farm near Tremont, IL. At the age of two, her mother died and she was raised by loving relatives in Peoria, IL. In 1944, she decided to take a bus trip west to California. Along her fateful route she met an Army Sgt. Everett "Beans" Renfro, who was on furlough before shipping out to the war in the Pacific. During their journey, he courted her detailing the wondrous beauty of New Mexico. She stayed for a visit and was never to leave. On November 18, 1945 Frances married Everett in Albuquerque. They had four daughters, Lura, Carol, Illene and Sally all of Albuquerque; two granddaughters, Leslie and Christina McMurtry. Frances was a long time member of Central United Methodist Church and New Mexico Home Extension Group. She was modest, sweet, supportive, and loving to her family and community. A devoted wife, mother, and best friend, she will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., July 23, 2008 at the Central United Methodist Church Chapel. Interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Animal Humane Society, the National Parks, Share your Care, Inc. or Heartland Hospice. SANCHEZ -- Florine Fay Sanchez, age 84, of Albuquerque, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 15, 2008. She was born January 18, 1924 in Portland, OR to Alton Alexander and Katherine McClellan. She married M. George Sanchez Jr. on August 25, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. Mrs. Sanchez along with her husband were missionaries serving in Quito, Ecuador, with HCJB radio station. and San Jose, Costa Rica with the Navigators for over ten years. Returning from the mission field they resided in Colorado Springs, CO., until 1988, and retired to Albuquerque. She and her husband ministered in Calvary Chapel and Desert Spring Churches. She is survived by her husband, Rev. George Sanchez Jr. of Albuquerque; her children, Sandra Sanchez of Albuquerque, Tom Sanchez and his wife Brenda of Austin, TX. Steve Sanchez and his wife Nancy of Salem, OR; grandchildren Christopher and Anthony Guber, Sherine (Sanchez) and her husband Ricky Archambaud and Rebecca (Sanchez) and her husband Johann Jareno; great-granchildren, Andre Archambaud and Benjamin Jareno. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Bitter. Celebration of her Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday July 25, 2008, at The Hub of Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna NE, Albuquerque.
