RENFRO -- Frances M. Renfro, 94, of Albuquerque, died July 15, 2008. Turning over a new leaf. She was born February 25, 1914 on her grandparent's farm near Tremont, IL. At the age of two, her mother died and she was raised by loving relatives in Peoria, IL. In 1944, she decided to take a bus trip west to California. Along her fateful route she met an Army Sgt. Everett "Beans" Renfro, who was on furlough before shipping out to the war in the Pacific. During their journey, he courted her detailing the wondrous beauty of New Mexico. She stayed for a visit and was never to leave. On November 18, 1945 Frances married Everett in Albuquerque. They had four daughters, Lura, Carol, Illene and Sally all of Albuquerque; two granddaughters, Leslie and Christina McMurtry. Frances was a long time member of Central United Methodist Church and New Mexico Home Extension Group. She was modest, sweet, supportive, and loving to her family and community. A devoted wife, mother, and best friend, she will be missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., July 23, 2008 at the Central United Methodist Church Chapel. Interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Animal Humane Society, the National Parks, Share your Care, Inc. or Heartland Hospice. Arrangements/Services are entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109 (505) 821-0010 www.danielsfuneral.com
