WATSON -- Roseabel "Rose" Watson, 76, passed away July 16, 2008 at a local nursing center in Abilene, TX. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.,in the Gunter Cemetery in Gunter, TX, under the direction of Hamil Family. Monday, July 21, 2008 a Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., at the Mountainside Church of Christ in Albuquerque, NM. May 9, 1932, Rose was born the daughter of the late Francis Marion Jenkins and Lorein (Tune) Jenkins in Waxahachie, TX. She graduated from North Texas High School in Denton, TX in 1947. In 1952, Rose graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelor's Degree and furthered her education, graduating with her Master's Degree in Elementary Education in 1957. During that time she married Bill Watson in Fort Worth, TX on June 27, 1953. Rose lived in Albuquerque, NM for 33 years where she taught school for 24 years in the Albuquerque Public School District. She was a member of Mountainside Church of Christ in Albuquerque. In 2005, Rose and Bill moved to Abilene, TX, where they are members of Southern Hills Church of Christ. Rose was a faithful Christian woman who loved the Lord. She loved her family, and was a devoted teacher who loved her students. As a teacher, she was interested in developing the whole child. She loved to travel with her husband. They traveled many beautiful places on various cruises. She was preceded in death by her parents Francis and Lorein Jenkins; one son, Tony Mark Watson in 2007; one brother, "Buddy" Jenkins; and one sister, Gloria Jenkins. Rose is survived by her husband, Bill Watson, of Abilene; one daughter, Kim Rowlands and her husband, Steve, of Abilene; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Watson, of Albuquerque, NM; and four grandchildren, Nate and Will, of Abilene, and Shawn and Kelly, of Albuquerque. WATT -- John Collin Watt, 89, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, in Albuquerque NM. He was born October 3, 1918 in Newport, ME to Collin C. and Lena Watt. John is survived by; one daughter, Susan Watt Young; one son, Colin Watt; one grandchild, John Young, all of Albuquerque, NM, as well as various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, of over 50 years, Ruth, in 2002. John was a resident of Albuquerque, NM, since 1967. He was a devoted gardener, WWII Veteran, and was retired from Ross Aviation. WEBSTER -- John L. Webster, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008. He is survived by nephews, Michael Lowe, Patrick Lowe and Thomas Lowe. John, a First Lieutenant, served in World War II in the Army Air Corps as well as the Berlin Air Lift. He was the president of Mile High Little League for a number of years and a little league baseball field was named in his honor, "Webster's Field." John was influential in the lives of many and will be cherished and missed by all. A Memorial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with full military honors. ZIMMERMANN -- Lt. Col. William Edward Zimmermann age 95, died July 16, 2008 in Amarillo. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., on Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Tash as celebrant. Private Family Burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia. Having been promoted to Lt. Col. during the Korean War, Bill decided to retire after completing 25 years in the military. In 1960 he and his young family made their home in Albuquerque, NM, beginning his second career, which was to span 14 years as a meteorologist with the US Weather Bureau. He made his home in Albuquerque for nearly 40 years until 2001, when he and Olive moved to Amarillo to be closer to their daughter. His wife, Olive preceded him in death on June 6, 2008. AGUILAR -- Carolina E. Aguilar, 75, resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 19, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband, Tito S. Aguilar; her children, Annabelle and David Salazar, of Colorado Springs, CO, Diana and Nelson Lopez, Philip Aguilar, and Peggy and Marty Candelaria all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Joaquin and Arcelia Salazar, Naomi Lopez-Dunlap, Rebeccah Lopez, Amanda and Gabriel Aguilar, Analise and Alexis Candelaria; and four great-grandchildren. CANNADAY -- Troy Z. Cannaday, 38, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008. Troy was born on November 25, 1969 to Lynn and Verna Cannaday of Albuquerque, NM. He was a graduate of Clovis High School in 1987. After high school, he moved to Albuquerque. He immediately began working in the construction industry with his family. Troy and his brother, Rick, established Cannaday Construction, LLC in 1997. He was a very active member in the HBA of Central New Mexico. He served as Chairman of the Remodelers Council. He achieved certification as a graduate remodeler and he was an accomplished Green Builder. The awards he has earned include HBA Rising Star 2006, NAHBR Remodelers Hall of Fame 2007, Historic Renovation 2004, Buyer's Choice Homes of Enchantment Tours and Parade of Homes Urban Revitalization 2005, Gold Remodeler 2005, and Parade of Homes Silver Award 2001. Troy was an avid outdoor sports fanatic. He is survived by his parents, Lynn and Verna, of Albuquerque; brothers, Alan and his wife, Shelly, of Rio Rancho, Gary and his wife, Victoria, of Albuquerque, Rick and his wife, Angela, of Albuquerque, and Vance and his wife, Tonya, of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews: Shalan, Christopher, Bryana, Ayla, Austin, Heather, Destiny, and Taylor Cannaday; great-niece, Morgan; grandfather, Cecil Thomas of Lubbock, TX; numerous cousins, friends, coworkers, and peers. Troy is loved and will be missed by all he knew him. CHURCH -- Keith Glenn Church, 45, passed away in La Mesa, CA. Keith was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 10, 1963. He attended A. Montoya Elementary and Roosevelt Middle School in Tijeras, and graduated 3rd in his class from Manzano HS in Albuquerque in 1981. He attended Idaho University, where he graduated in 1985 with honors, with degrees in Mathematics and Physics. His career as a scientist was with SPAWAR Systems Center, a Navy laboratory, in San Diego, CA. Keith is survived by his mother, Stella Foster and stepfather, Gary of Christiansburg, VA; and by his father, Eugene Church and stepmother, Sara of Albuquerque, NM; grandmother, Myrtle Thompson of Radford, VA, and an extended family of numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip in 1978. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on July 23, 2008 at Mountainside United Methodist Church, 4 Penny Lane, Cedar Crest, NM. CORDOVA -- Peter Cordova, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ramona; daughters Theresa Elsmore and her sons Daniel and Michael, and Gina Becker and husband Gerry; brother Luis Cordova and wife Eva and family. He served his country for 35 years in the Navy, the Corp of Engineers, and the National Park Service. GARCIA -- Phillip B. Garcia, Jr., 45, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008. He is survived by his parents, Phillip B. Garcia, Sr. and Harriett Brant; his daughter, Savanah Garcia and fiance Ramsey Triana; and his son, Brandon Garcia; his granddaughters, Janessa and Shanelle; sisters Denise Hensley and husband Damon, Symantha Garcia and partner Paula Garcia; and brothers; Matthew Brant and John Garcia and wife Sylvia; his Grandmother Jenny Garcia; his companion, Eva Marquez; and the mother of his children, Elizabeth Lucero. Phillip proudly served his Country in the Marine Corp. and was an expert Rifleman. Phillip was loved by all who knew him and will be missed dearly. A visitation will be held at the Daniels Family Funeral Services - Garcia Mortuary, 8th Street Chapel from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008, with Rosary following at 7:00 p.m., also at the 8th Street Chapel at Garcia Mortuary. GILLOOLY -- Lawrence Patrick "Skip" Gillooly, 73 years old, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008. He was the son of Patrick Lawrence Gillooly and Ruth C. Long, both deceased. He was born April 16, 1935. He married Mary Kathleen Knight on Sept. 13, 1958. They just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2008 with a family reunion/anniversary party, attended by 65 out of state family members and local guests. Skip is survived by Kay, his wife of 50 years, and his children; Chris Lardner (Scott), Patrick Gillooly (Lisa), Rick Gillooly, and Colleen Weingard (Tom). He has 11 grandchildren; Billy (Becky), Jimmy, Christopher, Sara, Danielle, Caitlin, Sean, Cassidy, Samantha, Shannon and Lucas; and one great grandchild, Averie. His grandson, Christopher Lawrence Lardner, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his five siblings; John Gillooly (Ruth Ann), Michael Gillooly (Eileen), Peg Oliver (David), Nancy Olsen (Otto), and Mary Siesky (Jim). Skip began working as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service in 1957 and ended his distinguished career 33 years later as the Field Director of Human Resources in Long Beach, CA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Annunciation Parish. He was an avid golfer, known for taking his grandsons to hit a bucket of balls or for a putting lesson. Skip was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family was the most important thing in his life. If you knew him, he probably E-mailed you weekly pictures and anecdotes about his family. He enjoyed attending as many of his grandchildren's events as possible. He was a great planner and known for his "list-making". He was a great sounding board for his children, always ready with good advice. Skip was an example to us all as he faced the adversity of declining health. He continued to stay active and never let his health stand in the way of a good party. We will miss everything about him. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2008 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Claremont & Vermont Streets.
