VASQUEZ -- William Edward Vasquez, Jr., CPA, CGFM. Eddie Vasquez was born on July 22, 1979 in Socorro, NM and passed away on June 11, 2008. He is survived by his parents, Eddie and Evelyn Vasquez Sr. of Rio Rancho; and sister, Ariana Vasquez of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by his grandparents Gene and Rowena Romero of Socorro, NM, Rey and Eva Vasquez of San Antonio, TX; his favorite uncle and aunt Rolinda and Marty Rosales of Lemitar, NM; his beloved cousins Phillip, Justin, Tyler, and Marinarae; his wife Jena Marquez; and numerous other uncles, aunts, cousins, and fraternity brothers. Eddie grew up in Rio Rancho, NM and after graduating from SPX in 1997 with honors, he graduated from New Mexico State University in 2002 with an accounting degree. Eddie worked as an auditor for five years receiving his CPA and CGFM in 2007. Eddie was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a coach for Rio Rancho Soccer Club, and volunteer for St. Pius X High School Alumni Association, volunteering on the board and speaking on Career Day to the current student body about job opportunities in Accounting. Eddie wanted nothing more than to start a family, travel to Spain, own his BMW dream car, give back to the community, and one day become the Mayor of Rio Rancho. He loved playing golf and sharing his love of the NMSU Aggies, Major League Soccer, and the San Antonio Spurs with his father. Whether coaching soccer, mentoring students, or working on SPX fundraising golf tournaments, Eddie gave back to the community; helping other youth experience the memories and sportsmanship he did. May his positive attitude and community spirit always be remembered. Eddie and Evelyn would like to thank all of their relatives and friends for their visits, uplifting us in prayer, and joining us at the Memorial Mass held on June 16th. We would also like to thank everyone for their thoughtful cards, flowers, plants, and dishes of food; to Monsignor Douglas Raun, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, presider of the Mass, and to the Rev. Scott Mansfield for his kindness. The Broken Chain. We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. We miss you and love you, Dad, Mom, Ariana, Nana, and Grandpa.
