ALLISON -- Florence P. Allison, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Sunday, June 6, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Judi A. Welch of Albuquerque; and grandsons, Amos C. Campbell of Albuquerque and Richard T. Welch of Orlando, FL. Mrs. Allison was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis King Allison; and daughter, Sandra A. Campbell. BABB -- David Daniel Babb, 75, died on June 4, 2004 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Sara W. Babb; a sister, Elaine B. Chastain and her husband, Dr. Richard Chastain of Amarillo; a brother, Burton A. Babb and wife, Eleanor Babb of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Dr. John Wilhelm and wife, Ann of La Plata, Maryland; two nieces and many nephews. David was born and raised on the east coast. He graduated from MIT in 1950 with degrees in electrical engineering, and later with a graduate degree in physics. He worked in those fields for 40 years. He first came to New Mexico in 1960 and retired here in 1990. David enjoyed skiing, golf, exploring New Mexico and jeeping in Colorado. Special thanks go to Frank Torres M.D., to Michael Bivin, R.N., the staff at AmberCare Hospice and the staff at Montibello Health Care for their support and good care. Very dear friends Robin Johnson and husband David Wilson are much appreciated for helping to provide Dave with his daily cigar for many months. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial with family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NM Boys & Girls Ranch at 6209 Hendrix Rd NE, Albuquerque, 87110.

BURRIS -- Lloyd L. Burris, 1st Sergeant, (Ret.), U.S. Army, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, June 6, 2004. Lloyd was born Friday, August 31, 1928 in Queen City, Texas. He served in Korea and Vietnam and served in the Army for 26 years. Lloyd was an avid volunteer with the Republican Party and numerous military affiliations. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Burris; son, John M. Burris of Phoeniz, AZ; one brother, John Roy Burris; two sisters, Virginia Pelot and husband, Dave and Mary Lou McKeever and husband, Mike all of Portland, OR; and various other family members outside the state of New Mexico. Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. CARSON -- James S. Carson, born in Glendale, CA on June 6, 1940, Jim passed away on June 3, 2004. Cherished by wife, Ann; and daughter, Cindy; family in California, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, and friends across North and South America, Jim received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly and went to work for IBM, later receiving an MBA from Cal State Fullerton. He retired from IBM and PNM. On an archaeological expedition to Guatemala in 1977, Jim met the love of his life, Ann. They moved to Albuquerque from Fresno in 1985 and soon became active in historic preservation. Jim was a loyal member of the Fresno County Archaeological Society, the Albuquerque Archaeological Society, the Albuquerque Historical Society, and a mainstay of Huning Highlands Historic District. He and Ann were organizers and hosts of the annual "Dickens of a Dinner" home tour, and, since 1987, participants in the Southwest Institute. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to the Albuquerque Museum Photo Archive, 2000 Mountain Rd. NW, 87104.

CARTER -- Ray S. Carter, Jr., 78, a longtime Albuquerque Pharmacist, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2004. He is survived by his sons, Alan Carter and wife, Inez of Aztec, NM and Ray S. "Sol" Carter III and wife, Elaine of Blackfoot, ID; daughters, Rebecca Broome of Albuquerque and Barbara Cole and husband, DeWayne of Stanley, NM; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; stepchildren, Mike Goodwin, Cyndi Goodwin, and Alyson Kite and husband, Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann F. Davalos Carter in March 1997. Ray was born in Quinlan, TX on October 17, 1925 to Ray S. Carter Sr. and Florence A. Greene. They moved to Artesia, NM in 1936 and he graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in 1943. Ray served in the United States Air Force from 1943 to 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He graduated from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy in 1955 and moved to Albuquerque where he opened Carter Drugs on Rio Grande Blvd. From 1967 to 1987 he worked for Skaggs Family Pharmacy and then Smith's Pharmacy from 1987 until retiring in 1990. He continued to work part time as a relief pharmacist until 2002. He was a past member of the BPOE, VFW and American Legion. Services will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2004, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. FASENMYER -- Tony C. Fasenmyer, age 52, of Albuquerque passed away June 4, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital. Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., June 9, 2004 with a visitation one hour prior to services at St. Ann's Catholic Church, and burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Joy Junction Homeless Center; 4500 2nd St. S.W. Albuquerque, NM 87105; or to a charity of your choice. Tony was born on July 24, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from St. Ann's Catholic School and from Pembroke Country Day School. He earned a B.A. from Loyola College in New Orleans in 1973, and a Master of Arts from the University of New Mexico in 1988. Tony's Christian faith was paramount in his life. For the past 15 years, he practiced family therapy in New Mexico as a licensed clinical mental health counselor and licensed marriage and family counselor. Through his private practice "Especially for Families," he performed extensive work for the Board of Education in Albuquerque, NM. He provided clinical supervision in family therapy for APS counselors and social workers, and was a member of the APS Mental Health School Initiative. Tony loved his work and thrived on helping families. He enjoyed music, especially traveling to live concerts. He adored his five peek-a-boo dogs which he treated like family. Tony was treasured for his zeal, humor and special zest for life. He will be missed deeply. Tony was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Fasenmyer; his maternal grandparents, Dolores and Ben Turpin; and by his paternal grandparents, Sada and Tony Fasenmyer.

FERRIS -- Charles A. Ferris, at the age of 78, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Community. Charles served his country in the Air Force and Army as a teletype operator until his honorable discharge in 1947. He was employed at Kirtland Air Force Base in 1947 as an engineering technician and retired June 4, 1981. Over those years Charles received several outstanding and superior performance awards. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Emma, of 55 years; his son, Jerry, and his wife, Crystal; his daughters, Magdalene, and husband, Paul Padilla, Lorrie and husband, Juan Segovia, Marie and husband, Daniel Hoagland; eight grandchildren, Lisa Ferris, Tim Padilla and wife, Sonia, Stephanie and husband, Michael Peters, Darlene Padilla, Jackie & Sandra Segovia, Courtney & Evan Hoagland; two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Marissa Padilla. Charles is also survived by his brothers Ralph Carrillo and wife, Loretta, Horacio Carrillo and wife, Julie; and sister Eulalia Salazar and husband, Donicio; several nieces and nephews. GONZALES -- Mr. Pablo O. Gonzales died Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 74. Mr. Gonzales served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. During his career he worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools and retired in 1991. Mr. Gonzales was very active in the community. He served as a former president of the East San Jose Association and of the East San Jose Seniors Association. During his service to the community he was awarded "Person of the Week" by a local television station. He was also given an award by Woodmen of the World for being a community leader. Mr. Gonzales is preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Aurelia Gonzales; brothers, David and Ernest Gonzales; and sister, Dorothy Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Lugardita (Lugie) Gonzales; children, Dorothy Sauceda and husband, Remijio (Joe), Louis (Steve) Gonzales, Eileen Johnston and husband, Jay, Matthew Gonzales, and Chris Gonzales; brothers and sisters, Lita Gillespie, Adolph Gonzales, Susie Martinez; and Wilfred Gonzales; and his grandchildren, Remijio Jr. and Sophie. A Rosary for Mr. Gonzales will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. GURULE -- Ofimiano (Ofie) Gurule 81, a lifelong New Mexico resident, born November 21, 1922 died Saturday, June 5, 2004. Loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and beloved friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Gurule and twin sons. He is survived by his girlfriend Bea Smith (B-Foo), his daughters Tonie and husband Antonio Mendez, Evelyn Carrillo-Randy Sanchez, Clara and husband Anthony W. Duran, Lisa and husband Jim Fulcher; grandchildren: Gregory Carrillo Jr. and wife Debbie, Patrick Carrillo and wife Shelly, Michael Mendez, Adrianna Rose Mendez, Andrew Briones and wife Tabitha, Stephanie Carrillo, and Dustin Huff; great-grandchildren: Kimberly 13, Jessica 11, Miranda 12, Ailsa 5, Isaiah 3, AJ 3, Alexis 3, Victoria Rose 2, and one on the way. One brother Pablo Gurule, five sisters Dora, Servana, Lydia, Mary Helen, and Patsy, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a WWII veteran, retired from the Veterans Hospital with 35 years. He was a lab technician supervisor, member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, member of Los Madrugadores Golf Association and the Old Timers Golf Association. He has many friends who will remember him as an avid sportsman who enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, golfing, and horse-racing. He loved his garden. GUTIERREZ -- Eduvigen Gutierrez died Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 77. Mrs. Gutierrez was a life long resident of New Mexico. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church. She had many hobbies including sewing, crochet and crafts. Mrs. Gutierrez is preceded in death by her husband, Eloy Gutierrez. She is survived by her son, Don Gutierrez; daughters, Ellimay Solis and Anna Marie Nevarez and husband, Moises Nevarez; brothers, Carlos, Ernest and Louie Jaramillo; sisters, Teresita Griego and Reyes Martinez; four grandchildren, Paulette Solis and husband, Stephen Sexton, Joseph Nevarez, Eloy Nevarez and Adrianne Nevarez; and one great-grandchild, Monique Nevarez. HEREFORD -- Col. J. Pierce Hereford USAF (Ret.), 87, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Sunday, June 6, 2004. He was born in Nevada, MO on October 15, 1916. Growing up in the Ozarks during the Depression, he learned the value of hard work. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and exploring the surrounding rural areas. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State College in 1940, then attended the University of Nebraska, 1940-1942. There, he met and married the former Mary Erna Motl, who preceded him in death on September 3, 2001. From March until July 1942 he was a weather instructor at Basic Pilot School, Randolph Field, Texas. Thereafter, he joined the Office of Strategic Services, with which he remained until the War's end. During July to August 1946 he was on active duty with the Air Force; he returned to active duty in July 1947, after receiving a masters degree in geography from the University of Nebraska. After qualifying as a navigator, he flew in B-36, B-29, and B-47 aircraft. In 1958, still on active duty, he returned to the University of Nebraska, earning a doctorate in geography two years later. He was then assigned to the Air Force Academy as associate professor of geography, a position he held until a stroke forced his retirement in June 1962. Colonel Hereford retired with his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1964, where he engaged in the real estate business. Actively interested in the treatment of stroke victims, he was the founding president of the Albuquerque Stroke Club. He is survived by three children, Joseph Jr., David, and Martha Scott, and five grandchildren. HERNANDEZ -- Dolores C. (Dee Dee) Hernandez, 62, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2004 in Lovelace Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Dolores is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joe; her children, Joseph Hernandez, Chris Hernandez and wife, Debbie, Marty Hernandez, Denise Ortiz and husband, Eddie, Adrian Hernandez and wife, Christine; her parents, Ramon and Josephine Romero; two sisters, Jo Nelson, Caroline Minero and husband, Foncie; brother, Richard Romero and wife, Jane; seven grandchildren, Nicole, Martn, Dezerie, Christopher, Dominic, Tianna, Erica and Amelia; a great-grandchild, Antonio; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by a sister, Therese Romero. A Memorial Mass will be held for Dolores on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place. HUSMAN -- Gordon J. Husman, 75, retired USAF, loving husband of Sheila Husman, father of sons Eric Husman of Las Cruces, and Mark Husman of Albuquerque, and daughter Stephanie Telge and husband Frank, died on Friday, June 4, 2004 after a long battle with Leukemia. Gordon had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1968. After retiring from the USAF, Gordon worked for Control Data Corporation, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Risen Savior Catholic Community and Knights of Columbus. Gordon loved sports, especially soccer and racquetball. He was the first soccer coach at La Cueva High School and numerous other teams for over 20 years. A prayer vigil will be recited on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. INGAGLIO -- Alfred J. Ingaglio, 87, former New York resident entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 5, 2004. He is survived by his four children, Tom and wife, Mallary, Richard and wife, Josephine, Janet Capobianco and husband, Vito; and his son, Mike. He has eight grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren. Alfred will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who knew and loved him. KERSEY -- Andrew Troy Kersey, age 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946 was called home to be with our Heavenly Father, Saturday, June 5, 2004. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. LEWIS -- Charles Roy Lewis, 63, of Haskell, died on Saturday, June 5 2004 in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Haskell with Jason Byrd officiating. Services are under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mr. Lewis was born on March 10, 1941 in Puxico, Missouri, the son of Paul and Rose Galloway Lewis. He married Joyce Lee Smith on August 27, 1994 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1978. During this time he received the following awards, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), Army Commendation Medal, Expert Infantry Badge, Aircraft Crewman Badge, Air Medal with OLC, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm (Unit), Missile Badge (2nd Class), Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal with OLC. Charles was a member of the V.F.W, American Legion, 32nd Degree Mason, York Rite, Scottish Rite, Ballut Abyad Legion of Honor, Shriners, and Paint Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Charles was the Chief of the Paint Creek Volunteer Fire Department. He started to rebuild it from scratch in 1999. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved to do wood working. He was a designing a water sprinkler system for his yard. He loved the outdoors. He would help the disabled by building handicap ramps and other aids. Di spent 26 years looking for Charles and only had him for 6 years. He was Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grand Father. MULLER -- Joseph A. Muller, born on February 22, 1962, died on June 4, 2004. He is survived by his longtime companion and best friend, Yolanda Apodaca, and by his four sisters, Susie Gotte (Mike) from Montana, Patsy Medina from Colorado, Bette (Jane) Porter, Henrietta Pargas (Tony); and two brothers, Ruben Muller and John (Larry) Muller (Marie) of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Leonela; his father, Albino; and his brother, David. Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.

OLIVAS -- Lorenzo Olivas, age 92, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, June 06, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Flora M. Olivas, sons, Rafael Olivas, of San Francisco, CA, Carlos D. Olivas and Daniel L. Olivas both of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Alvaro and wife Emily Olivas; sister, Cleo Tavasci both of Albuquerque, NM, and many nieces and nephews. Lorenzo was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, Andy, Luis and Eddie. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp. PADILLA -- Jemelle S. (Jamie) Padilla passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Steve Padilla; her mother, Elaine McKim; her brother, Michael Medina, his wife, Naomi, and their daughter, Paris, all of Sacramento, California; her in-laws, Frank and Helen Padilla, Dolores Marshall, Roger and Marianne Tapia, Linda and John Fay, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Frances Marquez of Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Since her retirement from the Department of Energy, Jamie had been very active in her community serving on several boards and associations. She was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed snowmobiling, water skiing and hunting. Jamie will be deeply missed by her family and many friends and will be remembered for her grace, beauty and infectious laughter. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Padilla family home. and on Thursday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m. in Albuquerque at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall, 4020 Lomas Blvd., NE, corner of Lomas and Morningside.

RANSDELL -- Dr. C.H. (Cliff) Ransdell, passed away May 30, 2004 in his sleep after an extended stay in the hospital, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He moved to Hot Springs in 2003, after the death of his beloved wife Ruby, were he lived with his son and wife. Cliff was born November 24, 1909 to William Francis and Jeddie Whiteside Ransdell in Breckenridge, Texas. Cliff started teaching at Texas A&M University in 1937, working through many positions with the University and retiring in 1976 as Assistant Dean Emertius of the College of Engineering. During WWII he supervised Engineering Science, Management, War Training Courses and the building of war material in many different locations in Texas; while continuing to teach at Texas A&M. In 1976 the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University honored Dr. Ransdell with the Faculty Distinguished Achievement Award in Student Relations; and the College of Engineering recognized him with the C.W. Crawford award for Distinguished Service to the College of Engineering. Dr. Ransdell earned degrees from Texas Tech University, Texas A&M University, Howard Payne University, and the University of Texas. Among the Honor and Academic Fraternities were ASME P; Phi Eta Sigma H; Phi Delta Kappa LE; Lota Lambda Sigma H; Pi Tau Sigma M.E. and Tau Beta Pi (Engineering). He was a professional Engineer in Texas and New Mexico. As a Mason, Cliff, was twice Past Master of his Lodge, Past District Deputy Grand Master, Grand Orator and Grand High Priest of the most Excellent Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of Texas. He was commander of his commandery-sovereign Red Cross of Constantine, and a member of Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests. Cliff was Deputy Grand Governor of the Sovereign Grand York Rite College of North America in New Mexico. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite having held offices in most bodies of Scottish Rite. Dr. Ransdell was a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher and Superintendent for the First Baptist Church, College Station, Texas while living there. He was a deacon, trustee, and Sunday School Teacher for the First Baptist Church, Tijeras, New Mexico after moving there in 1985. In Temple he was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church. Cliff Ransdell was respected for a lifetime of Christian Service and loved to teach and lecture on personal dignity and Christian living. He is survived by a daughter, Bettiann R Carlson of Temple, TX; son, Billy H. (Randy) Ransdell and his wife, Sandy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; granddaughter, Tracey R. Dean of Conroe, Texas; grandson, Troy H. Ransdell, of Dallas, Texas and Many dear friends. We will all miss our "Grampy". Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday June 3, 2004 at Sheffield Funeral Home in Temple with Reverend Mike Harkrider officiating. Burial was in Temple Garden of Memories. Memorial may be made to a favorite charity.

SABATH -- Ernest "Ernie" Sabath, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Sunday, June 6, 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Sonia Sabath of Albuquerque; sons, Joseph and Earl Sabath both of Albuquerque; sister, Nell Sabath of Cleveland, OH; sister-in-law, Josephine Nahas of Cleveland, OH; three nieces, Ann Marie, Patricia and Maureen; and special friend and neighbor, Phil Rodela. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Sabath and brothers, Kay and Hale Sabath. Ernie and Rose owned and operated Ernie's Cafe at 4801 Lomas NE for over 20 years. He has lived the last four years at The Grand Court Retirement Community. Ernie was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
