Obituary for FERRIS

Charles A. Ferris, at the age of 78, passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2004, surrounded by his loving family. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Community. Charles served his country in the Air Force and Army as a teletype operator until his honorable discharge in 1947. He was employed at Kirtland Air Force Base in 1947 as an engineering technician and retired June 4, 1981. Over those years Charles received several outstanding and superior performance awards. Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Emma, of 55 years; his son, Jerry, and his wife, Crystal; his daughters, Magdalene, and husband, Paul Padilla, Lorrie and husband, Juan Segovia, Marie and husband, Daniel Hoagland; eight grandchildren, Lisa Ferris, Tim Padilla and wife, Sonia, Stephanie and husband, Michael Peters, Darlene Padilla, Jackie & Sandra Segovia, Courtney & Evan Hoagland; two great-grandchildren, Danielle and Marissa Padilla. Charles is also survived by his brothers Ralph Carrillo and wife, Loretta, Horacio Carrillo and wife, Julie; and sister Eulalia Salazar and husband, Donicio; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ferris, Paul Padilla, Juan Segovia, Daniel Hoagland, Tim Padilla and Ralph Carrillo. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9, from 4:00 PM with a Rosary commencing at 7:30 p.m. at the Chapel of the Sunrise Funeral Options, 7601 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 10, at 9:00 a.m. at the Shrine of St. Bernadette on Indian School Road with Father Podvin officiating. A reception will immediately follow.
