BABB -- David Daniel Babb, 75, died on June 4, 2004 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Sara W. Babb; a sister, Elaine B. Chastain and her husband, Dr. Richard Chastain of Amarillo; a brother, Burton A. Babb and wife, Eleanor Babb of Dallas; a brother-in-law, Dr. John Wilhelm and wife, Ann of La Plata, Maryland; two nieces and many nephews. David was born and raised on the east coast. He graduated from MIT in 1950 with degrees in electrical engineering, and later with a graduate degree in physics. He worked in those fields for 40 years. He first came to New Mexico in 1960 and retired here in 1990. David enjoyed skiing, golf, exploring New Mexico and jeeping in Colorado. Special thanks go to Frank Torres M.D., to Michael Bivin, R.N., the staff at AmberCare Hospice and the staff at Montibello Health Care for their support and good care. Very dear friends Robin Johnson and husband David Wilson are much appreciated for helping to provide Dave with his daily cigar for many months. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial with family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the NM Boys & Girls Ranch at 6209 Hendrix Rd NE, Albuquerque, 87110.
