Baca -- Rafael V. Baca was a charming, young at heart man with a sense of humor that could lift anyone's spirits. He will be remembered with love by many of his friends and family. His generosity, compassion for others, and understanding will be treasures that we will keep in our hearts and memories forever. The family would like to thank everyone involved in helping us during this difficult time. Thanks to those who attended the services, all the words of encouragement and sympathy, the cards, flowers, food and hugs. They are deeply appreciated. A special thanks to French Mortuary for their professionalism and compassion, Our Lady of Annunciation Parish, and Deacon Sandy Hall for their support. A special thanks to the New Mexico Air National Guard's Honor Guard for the outstanding performance of the military honors and respect shown to our Dad. Barlett -- Georgia Mae Barlett (Travis) Madson, a resident of Belen, passed away on November 6, 1998. Georgia was born on March 30, 1914 in Tulia, Swisher County, Texas to George Morgan and Cora Ellen Bartlett, she was a twin. She grew up in West Texas and married Guss Travis in 1930. To this union were three sons, Jimmie, Gayle, and Elton. Guss passed away in 1961. She married Jack Madson in 1956 and he passed away in 1985. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Cora Bartlett; brother, Bart Bartlett; sisters, Gayle Harold and Erma Green. Georgia is survived by her sons, Jimmie Travis, Gayle and his wife, Alice, Elton Travis and his wife, Leta; five grandchildren, Telease, Jimmie Kyle, Allen, Rhonda, and Pam; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Derek, Nathan, Travis and Ashli; her twin sister, Fay Mangum of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by many loving friends, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home with Reverend Milford Misener officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alan and Kyle Travis, Bob Ratisseau, Rick Johnson, Tom Blaine, Hermon Towner, and Bill Hedrick. Bertman -- Violet (Vicki) Bertman, beloved mother and wife, passed away on November 3, 1998 after a short illness resulting from a brain hemorrhage. She is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd; her three children, Lee, Lynn and Michele; her six grandchildren, Danny, Adam, Michael, Jonathan, Nichole, and Tyler; and many special friends whose lives she touched with her beauty, vitality, generosity, and love. A private service was held for the immediate family on November 4th. Her family wishes to thank friends and relatives for the many cards, telephone calls, and words and prayers of support. Chavez -- Albina A. Chavez, 85, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on November 6, 1998. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, and the cursillo movement. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Bobby Lopez, Jose Jesse Chavez, great-grandchildren, Andrew Peralta, and infant son, Ismael Chavez, infant daughter, Florence Chavez, brothers, Elfego, Mateo and Manuel Alderete. Albina is survived by her husband, Jose Jesus Chavez of the family home in Los Chavez; sons, Joe Chavez Jr. and his wife, Tillie of Barstow, CA; Eloy Chavez and wife, Alice of Barstow, CA; Ruben Chavez and his wife, Cecilia of Los Chavez, Raymond and his wife, Rosaline of Albuquerque, Gilbert and his wife, Rosie of Los Chavez, Orlando and his wife, Viola of Barstow, CA; daughters, Florence Ortega and her husband, Anthony of Belen, Eva Peralta and her husband, Eloy of Barstow, CA, Lydia Lopez and her husband, Robert of Belen, Sally Alires and her husband, Paul of Albuquerque, Isabel and granddaughter, Jessica Chavez of Los Chavez; 46 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rosendo, Pete of Barstow, CA, and Vicente and his wife, Virginia Alderete of Albuquerque; sisters, Clorinda Padilla of Los Chavez, Luz Tafoya, Annie Chavoya of Barstow, CA; sisters-in-law, Emma and Bernardita Alderete of Albuquerque. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. Viewing will be held on Monday at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, George Gabel, Jr. and wife, Joan; grandchildren, Pam Dudoich of Albuquerque, Bonnie Roth of Ohio and Chris Gabel of California; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Sheena Manyo, Stephanie and Stephen Gabel, and Rachel Roth. Garcia -- Mr. Rudy R. Garcia, 58, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 6, 1998. Mr. Garcia is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Jeanette; two sons, Tony Garcia and wife, Michelle and Rudy Garcia Jr.; two grandchildren, Joshua and Alicia; his sister, Lizzie Herrera and husband, Juan; his brother, Augustine Garcia and daughter, Sonia; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. Mr. Garcia was a member of the catholic church. Hannah -- Robert I. Hannah was born in Cambuslang, Scotland, May 18, 1911, and died November 6, 1998. He was raised in Saskatoon, Canada; emigrated to Buffalo, New York in 1924; lived in Rochester, New York; and had made his home in Albuquerque since 1939. Mr. Hannah attended Ohio Weslyan College for three years and graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1941. He taught World History for 30 years at Albuquerque High School, retiring in 1973. He is survived by his nieces, Patricia Hannah, Lancaster, CA, Cathy Hockin, Vancouver, British Columbia, and Joan Hannah, Suto, Hamburg, NY; nephews, William Cox, Los Angeles, and William Hannah and wife, Blanche of Forestville, NY; and special great-nephew, Jack Hockin and wife, Pat Rafferty of West Vancouver, British Columbia. Also surviving is his longtime friend, Don W. Allen. Cremation will be under the care of Sunrise Society, (891-8200).

Harkcom -- Clifford W. Harkcom, 68, died Sunday, November 1, 1998 at Presbyterian Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter and grandson, Joanne and Kirk Pelowski, daughter and son-in-law, Leora and Robert Reeves; five brothers and one sister. Cliff was retired from the Army and FAA. He was an avid square and round dancer since 1972. A private service has been held. LaPine -- Virginia McManus LaPine, 91, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, November 3, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alfred (Bill) LaPine; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Josephine Salzman; and a brother, John B. McManus, Jr. Mrs. LaPine taught in the Albuquerque Public Schools for 44 years, retiring in 1969 as music director. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Mrs. LaPine was also member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Lawler -- Robert J. Lawler, 86, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 1998. He is survived by three daughters; two sons; two grandchildren; and one sister. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre. He was an avid golfer and a member of the American Legion for many years. No services are planned. Morgan -- Marion F. Morgan, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died on Thursday, October 29, 1998. She is survived by her children, Mary M. Hands and husband, Jerry, and Thomas C. Morgan, all of Albuquerque, Hope E. Kile and husband, Bob of San Angelo, TX and Pat B. Morgan and wife, Kay of Denver, CO; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas C. Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was an active member of Holy Ghost Parish, a member of Birthright of Albuquerque, and she was active with St. Vincent de Paul Society. Rosary was recited Sunday, November 1, 1998 at Holy Ghost Parish, 833 Arizona NE, with Deacon Bob Stromberg reciting. Mass was celebrated Monday, November 2, 1998, at Holy Ghost Parish, with Father Joe D. Vigil, Celebrant. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Noel -- Opal D. Noel, cherished wife of the Rev. John J. Noel and beloved mother of DeAnna Hare and Sharon Cole, finally found peace and release from pain on October 31, 1998 after a long illness. Opal Dean Chisum was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado on June 1, 1919 to Edgar and Lucille Lasater Chisum, and is survived by two sisters, Velma Robertson and Beatrice Moore, both of California."Nana" is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Cole Hallett and husband, Rick, Tami Cole, C. Osborne -- Anna Lee Osborne, 97, affectionately known among her friends as"Aunt Annie", passed away quietly of heart failure on Friday, November 6, 1998, at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her son, Daniel Osborne and wife, Mimi of San Francisco, CA; daughter-in-law, Helen Osborne of Santa Clarita, CA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and an extended family of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Bryan Osborne; and son, W. Bryan Osborne. Mrs. Osborne was born in Tulia, TX, on Friday, April 19, 1901. As a child of this century, Anna traveled the plains of Texas to New Mexico by covered wagon with her family and in 1912, they settled in McDonald, NM. She returned to Texas to study and practice nursing until her marriage to H. Bryan Osborne in 1929 in Hereford, TX. They then moved to Southern California and raised their family. In 1948, Anna returned to nursing as head maternity nurse at Maywood Memorial Hospital. She and Bryan retired in 1965 and traveled together throughout the United States. After Anna was widowed in 1975, she settled in Hemet, CA until 1990 when she moved to Albuquerque. Anna has been very active in the community and with Monterey Baptist Church. A memorial celebration of her life will be held with her urn present, Saturday, November 21, 1998, 11:00 a.m., at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd. NE. Rev. Fred MacDonald will officiate. Stampfel -- Sophie A. Stampfel (nee Peritz) passed away November 3, 1998 at the age of 90 years. She was residing at The Cottages at the time of her death. Sophie was born in Opatjaselo, Slovenia, then the Austro-Hungarian Empire. She came to the United States with her mother in 1920 and married Josef Stampfel in 1923. She was a 70 year resident of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and a 5 year resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughters, Olga Eckstein of Watertown, WI and Dana Goetz of Albuquerque, NM; sons-in-law, Ike and Gary; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Norma Martin; sons-in-law, Joseph Martin and Art Longley; and a grandson, Randy Martin. She was very active in Slovenian organizations-CFU, SNPJ, the Slovenian Women's Union and SLOGA, where she was the first woman on the Supreme Board. She worked for many years at Singers Boutique and SLOGA Insurance Office. She was an active member of the Church of the Risen Savior and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Risen Savior at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 9, 1998. Vigil -- Mr. Frank R. Vigil, 44, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 7, 1998. Frank is survived by his parents, Raymond and Mary Vigil; his girlfriend, Yvonne Apodaca; one sister, Kathy Crannage and husband, Major Robert Crannage Jr. of Washington, DC; five brothers, Eric Vigil, Anthony Vigil and wife, Theresa, Charles Vigil, David Vigil and Gregory Vigil; his special dog, Rug Rat; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Frank was a member of the Catholic church and Veteran of the U.S. Army. Visitation will be Monday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr., SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Mr. Pat Cordova. Final visitation will be Tuesday morning in the Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco SW from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. was mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Jack, Celebrant. Committal service will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Eric Vigil, Anthony Vigil, Charles Vigil, David Vigil, Gregory Vigil and Richard Chavez. Walker -- Constance R. Walker, 87, a 35 year resident of Albuquerque, born November 13, 1910, in Brooklyn, NY to Margaret and Charles Reina, passed away November 1, 1998. She was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives. She is survived by Terrell H. Walker, her loving husband of 57 years; a son, Terry and his wife, Mary, their children, Katie Laughlin, Laura and Shiela Walker; a daughter, Donna, her children, Erik Hertzler and his wife, Shelly, Brandon Hertzler and Deborah Alysia Reina; three nephews, Charles, Thomas and Charles J. Reina, their wives, children and grandchildren; four widowed nieces, Marie Musca, Catarina Santo Pietro, Angela Pisarra and Margaret Postiglione, their sons-in-laws, children and grandchildren; two other nieces, Constance Hoffman and Connie Simmons, their husband, children and grandchildren. Constance wishes to thank her many loving and devoted friends for enriching her life tremendously, for their concern and willingness to help in any way. Lots of thanks and gratitude is due to the Lord who shed His grace on our lives. Constance lived simply and prefers to exit without fuss and fan fare. No memorial service is planned. Wedeking -- Loren Lee Wedeking, 62, a 33 year resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home with his beloved wife at his side on November 3, 1998. He was born September 12, 1936 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Loren is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marilyn Wedeking; son, Lon, wife Terri, and grandson, Lee Wedeking, all of Rio Rancho; son, Wade Wedeking of Enumclaw, WA. Loren served in the Army from 1953-1956 as a mechanic and paratrooper. He enjoyed country music and worked as a heavy equipment operator. His last place of employment was with CCM as a blade operator. Loren was a beloved Husband, Dad and Grandpa. He touched so many people's lives just by being who he was. Loren will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. Full Military Honors will be presented by the Auxiliary Honor Guards of New Mexico at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM, on Monday, November 9, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation services were provided by Sunrise Society of New Mexico, 891-8200.

Wilson -- David James Wilson, 31, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque and living in Tijeras for the past 20 years, died Friday, November 6, 1998. He is survived by his parents, David and Maxine Wilson of Tijeras; sister, Angela Wilson of Tijeras; grandparents, Leslie and Stella Fogel and Dolores Wilson, all of Albuquerque; uncle, Leo Fogel of Albuquerque; aunts, Marie Wilson of Albuquerque and Yvonne Reid and husband, Jim of Monterey, CA; wife, Keshia Wilson of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and many friends. Services will be held Monday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
