Baros -- Fitzgerald Donny Baros, 36, a longtime resident of Farmington, NM, died Thursday, May 21, 1998. He is survived by his mom, Becky Baros and dad, Tony Baros of Bernalillo, NM; son, Fitz Baros Jr.; brothers, Russell A. Baros and wife, Lydia of Bernalillo, NM and Timmy Baros and wife, Loretta of Bernalillo, NM; sisters, Roberta Baros-Jaramillo and husband, Lawrence of Albuquerque and Doris Baros-Carrillo and husband, Frank of Bernalillo, NM; Godmother, Marilyn Lucero; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, his special friend, Jolene Rubish, and numerous friends. He was an avid horseman and cowboy, and was the outrider for Albuquerque and Santa Fe Downs for many years. He worked with and around horses all of his life. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Bernalillo, NM. Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, 12:00 noon, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Carnohan -- Jack Carnohan, age 80, died on May 22, 1998 at the Sierra Vista Hospital in Truth or Consequences, NM. He was born on June 12, 1917 in Logan, West Virginia to H.A. and Alta Mae (Dillon) Carnohan. Mr. Carnohan was a former resident of Albuquerque from 1957 to 1985. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories as an Electrical Technician in 1980. A resident of Truth or Consequences since 1985. Mr. Carnohan was a member of the Bethesda Lodge No. 64 AF & AM. He is survived by his wife, Bertha M. Carnohan of the family home; a son, Michael A. Carnohan of T or C, NM; his brother, James E. Carnohan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a sister, Dorothy Wilson of Oceanside, CA. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 1998 in the Chapel of French Mortuary of T or C at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Shon A. Wagner and Ping Ware officiating. Entombment will be held on Tuesday afternoon, 3:00 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, with Rev. Carter -- Dr. Genevieve W. Carter, 91, passed away at Lovelace Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 1998. She was born February 23, 1907 in Palestine, IL, to Lynn and Ida Mae Wiley. She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Ann Alexander of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, John Alexander, residing in Florida, Brian Alexander, residing in Illinois, and Kathy Alexander, residing in Botswana, Africa; and a sister, Virginia Scott of Albuquerque. She married John Carter Esc. in 1934, who preceded her in death in 1972. She had an outstanding career in Social Services, the science of helping others. She graduated from UNM, followed by a Masters degree at Columbia (where she was thought a foreigner from NM) and a Ph.D. from U of C Berkley. She was the first juvenile probation officer in Albuquerque and also the first Special Education teacher in Albuquerque Public Schools. She was Administrator for Education and Social Services at Manzanar War Relocation Camp during WWII. She was the Director of Welfare for the City and County of Los Angeles and Professor Emeritus at USC in Los Angeles. She was Research Director of IIEW Washington, DC. After retirement she spent eight years in Albuquerque devoted to community service in the development of services for the elderly. She appears in the Senior Hall of Fame at the Albuquerque Convention Center. She was Board Chairman of the Office of Senior Affairs in Albuquerque and a member of the Governors panel on gerontology. She was the author of some 52 articles and six text books. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE. Harris -- Clotilda Harris was born on October 24, 1910 in Loo Cove, Bonavista Bay Newfoundland, Canada, and arriving in the United States in 1928. She met and married Evan Robert Harris January 25, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY and went on to become a U.S. citizen on August 17, 1937. Clotilda passed away on Friday, May 22, 1998 at the home of her son, Robert and wife, Trisha. She is survived by three daughters, Hazel Michels and husband, Lou, Nancy Varin and husband, Normand, Debbie O'Connor and husband, Arthur. Also five generations of grandchildren; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a 50 year member of the Minneola Eastern Star, Chapter 716, also in 1945 a Grand Mistress of the Orange Order of Brooklyn, NY. A small family memorial service will be held at the home of Robert Harris with Chaplain Paul Gleason giving the Eulogy. Internment will be at the Pinelawn Memorial Park and Garden Mausoleum in Farmingdale on Long Island, NY. Cremation by Direct Services, 343-8008. Her memory will always be cherished and loved by all her family and friends.....

Hughes -- Glenn D. Hughes, 69, a resident of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, died Saturday, May 23, 1998. Kaberlein -- Lucy L. Kaberlein, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Thursday, May 21, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Kaberlein of Kansas City, MO; sons, Mark Kaberlein and wife, Colleen of Albuquerque, and Joseph Kaberlein and wife, Kimberly of Moriarty; grandsons, Kabe Moen of Kansas City, MO and Zachary Kaberlein and Alexander Kaberlein, both of Albuquerque, and Joseph Wallace (J.W.) Kaberlein of Moriarty; and numerous brothers, sisters, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Joseph Kaberlein in 1989; and son, Dennis Kaberlein in 1985. Mrs. Kaberlein retired as a registered nurse from the VA Hospital. She was a loving mother, caring grandmother. Mrs. Kaberlein had many dear friends. She was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church for over 30 years, volunteering her time after her retirement to the church activities. She volunteered many hours to Bear Canyon Senior Citizens Center. She will be missed by all who knew her. Levy -- Clara E. Levy passed away Saturday, May 23, 1998 at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Jerome of Albuquerque; daughter, Diane Levy Salo, wife of Michael Salo of Placitas; brother, John C. Cory, husband of Sunny Cory; niece, Nancy Cory; grandniece, Megan Cory, all of Albuquerque; brother, Homer D. Cory, husband of Betty Cory of Leavenworth, KS; and niece, Lynda Cory Robison of Utah. She was born in Leavenworth, KS on August 8, 1919, to Homer D. Cory and Eloise Catlin Cory. Mrs. Levy graduated from Park College in 1941 and worked as a medical social worker after graduation in St. Louis. She attended Washington University, where she received a Master's degree in Social Work. She subsequently worked as a medical social worker at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She then moved to Denver, CO, where she worked at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital. Later she worked at the Colorado State Health Department, where she met Jerome Levy. She became a full-time homemaker, though remaining active in community, serving as a volunteer on a suicide and crisis prevention hotline in Boulder. Upon moving to Albuquerque in 1966, Mrs. Levy became a member of the UNM Faculty Wives Club. She had been an active member of the League of Women Voters, having been a member since her tenure in Boston. At the 1998 annual meeting, May 9, she became a member of the League's Roll of Honor. She served as membership chair for many years. She was a longtime member of PEO and the American Association of University Women. The family requests, that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the League of Women Voters (LWV/ABC) or the League's Education Fund, 5015 Prospect NE 87110. Lovelace -- Hershel Lee Lovelace, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 52 years, died on Thursday, May 21, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida E. Lovelace of Albuquerque; son, Clifton L. Lovelace and wife, Marilyn of Hacienda Heights, CA; daughters, Linda K. Grider and husband, Joe Jr. of Jemez Springs, NM, and Kathy M. Mc Cormack and husband, David of Grapevine, TX; grandchildren, Brian Lee Lovelace of Los Angeles, CA, Criston Kibbee and wife, Alison of Corinth, TX, Justin Grider of Los Alamos, NM, and Jeffrey Grider of Jemez Springs, NM; seven step-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. Mr. Lovelace was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers. He retired from Albuquerque Gravel Products after 22 years of service. Mr. Lovelace served with the US Army during WWII and he was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He was an ordained Baptist Deacon at the age of 22, serving at Riverside Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church here in Albuquerque. Mr. Lovelace was an active member of Sandia Baptist Church. Olguin -- Manuel Philip Olguin, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 22, 1998, at home in Albuquerque. Mr. Olguin was born on August 23, 1914 in Albuquerque, where he lived most of his life. From the University of New Mexico, he received his B.A. in Math and Science (1939), and his M.A. in School Administration and Statistics (1954). He completed additional graduate studies under Naval Cognizance at Texas A&M, Treasure Island Naval, M.I.T., and Princeton University (specializing in Elementary Electricity and Radio Material, Ship to Shore Radar, Loran Studies, and Development and Propagation Theory). Mr. Olguin also took Doctoral Studies at Colorado State Teachers' College in Greeley, CO, where he majored in School Administration and Higher Learning. He devoted more than 40 years to New Mexico education. He was a high school instructor at Taos, Los Lunas, and Albuquerque public schools; and engineering recorder and aide for the Emergency War-Mapping Project at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service; spent four years in naval service during World War II where he resigned as Lieutenant (J.G.) Electronic Specialist; a college instructor at the University of Albuquerque (College of St. Joseph); high school principal at Bernalillo High School; a special agent for Business Men's Assurance; Superintendent of Schools, Bernalillo Board of Education; Researcher for the National Science Foundation Radiation Biology Institute, UNM; engineering researcher at the Atomic Energy Commission, Sandia Corporation; group leader for the National Education Association Overseas Teach Corps through the Agency for International Development (posts in the Dominican Republic as Associate Professor/Educational Specialist in Science, and San Salvador as Science and Curriculum Advisor); Head of the Math and Physical Science Department at Rio Grande High School; Assistant Director of Employee Services, as well as Director of Employee-Services for Albuquerque Public Schools; and before retiring in 1994, as Consultant for Retiree and Elderly Benefits for the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. Mr. Olguin was a member of the New Mexico School Administrators Association, Board of Directors of the Albuquerque Public Schools Federal Credit Union, Phi Delta Kappa (education honorary), Kappa Mu Epsilon (mathematics honorary), Phi Kappa Phi (freshman honor roll), Governing Board of the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute, New Mexico Association of Educational Retirees, Albuquerque Association of Educational Retirees, and the American Legion. He was a model of sacrifice and caring and will be greatly missed by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Angela (Lisha), retired principal of Raymond Gabaldon Elementary School in Los Lunas; children, Carol Olguin Ochoa and husband, William of Mexico City, Jane Olguin Hruska and husband, Lee of Annapolis, MD, John Olguin and wife, Linda of Rockville, MD, Lawrence Olguin and wife, Sheila of Richland, WA, Margaret Olguin Abbate and husband, James of Denver, CO, and Ann Olguin Weatherson and husband, James of Grapevine, TX; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Julia Trujillo and Denny Olguin, both of Salida, CO; and son-in-law, William Robinson of Orange, CA. Robison -- Marcella M. Robison, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died May 19, 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Passero of Crofton, MD, Linda Robison of Silver Spring, MD and Terri Youngblood and husband, John of Albuquerque; two sons, Gary Robison and wife, Betty of Arnold, MD, and Bill Robison and wife, Yvette of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge Gene and Nancy Walton and their children, a special family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry"Hank" Robison in 1986. Mrs. Robison was a member of the Catholic Church and an avid bingo player. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Marcella enjoyed gardening and her pets. Romero -- Jesus A. Romero, 77, of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home in Rio Rancho on May 20, 1998. In January, 1996, Jesus put to rest his loving wife of 57 years, Lu G. Romero. Jesus was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Mendoza of Los Angeles, CA; and more recently by his brother, Joe S. Romero of Las Vegas, NV. Jesus was the oldest of four children, born to Mares Pacias and Luis Romero. At a young age he began to work in a bakery, a career which would span over 60 years. He served proudly in the Navy during WWII as a baker on a troop transport. Jesus and Lu raised five children and helped raise two grandchildren. He often worked long hours at two or three different jobs to provide for his family. Jesus was a devout Roman Catholic and a Parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. A self-taught guitarist, Jesus was proud of being a member of the Spanish Choir and shared his love for God and everyone with his musical praise. Jesus had an unconditional love for his family and always devoted individual attention to all his children. All of us will miss his hugs and our memories will be of a faithful servant of God and a loving father who always went the extra mile for his children. Jesus is survived by his brother, Horacio Romero and wife, Lydia; by brother-in-law, Tony Gurule and wife, Geri; children, Barbara Romero and companion, Raymond Patterson, Patricia La Motte and husband, Gary, Diane Jaramillo and husband, Ted, Paul Romero and companion, Angela Felter, Susan Garduno and husband, Joe A. Sr., Edward Alderete Sr. and wife, Jeannette, Michelle Molina and husband, Ernest. Jesus is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; the many that he claimed as his own, and those who knew him. Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., in Rio Rancho. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, May 24, 1998 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service on Monday, May 25 at 11:00 a.m. A private distribution of the crematorial remains will be held at Vista Verde Rose Garden at a later time.

Shook -- Daniel W. Shook, 42, a resident of Albuquerque for 16 years, died Thursday, May 21, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Catherine G. Shook of Albuquerque; son, Jason W. Shook and daughter, Jessica Shook, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; mother, Dotta Bissonette and grandmother, Dorothy Zipse, both of Charles City, IA; father, Harley Shook of Las Cruces, NM; in-laws, Lillian J. and Lupe Trujillo of Las Vegas, NM; sisters, Diane Speed of Charles City, IA, Dawn Eisinberg and husband, Tom of Golden, CO, Heather Meyer and husband, Rowdy of Charles City, IA, and Renee Daloia and husband, Mark of Bloomfield, CO. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Monday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Paul Baca reciting. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Paul Baca, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be John Kirin, Mark Daloia, Rowdy Meyer, Henry Trujillo, Steven D. Martinez, and Tom Eisinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Espinosa, Daniel Holguin, Victor Martinez, and Phillip Manuel Trujillo. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Vigil -- Mrs. Yvonne C. Vigil, 60, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 23, 1998. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Gilbert Efren Vigil; her children, Patsy and Richard Trujillo, Marvin and Debra Vigil, Ruth and David Boyd and Gilbert Eugene Vigil; daughter-in-law, Theresa Vigil; brothers, Pedro Cebada and wife, Eileen and Joe Cebada and wife, Martha; sisters, Serafina Eichwald and husband, Alex, Petra Cebada, Ervinia Lucero and husband, Willie, Julia Garcia and Lorraine Crespin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vigil was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Vigil. A memorial funeral service will be held Tuesday at 12:00 noon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, Brother Meliton Lopez, Officiant. The family will be receiving family and friends after 11:30 a.m. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Wilson -- Helen W. Wilson, age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday in a local nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Wilson in 1997. Mrs. Wilson is survived by brother, Herbert Wilcox; three nieces, Helen Shackelford, June Wilcox, and Laurie Anderson.
