Miller -- Donelda Miller, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1929, died Thursday, August 19, 1999. She is survived by her sons, Ed Miller and wife, Martie of Las Cruces and Ivall Miller and wife, Vaunetta of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian Miller and fiance, Desiree Herring of Albuquerque, Melissa Horan and husband, Larry, Amy Hahn and husband, Larry, all of Albuquerque, Kevin Miller and wife, Desiree of Las Cruces, and Kyle Miller and wife, Jessica of Larkspur, CO; great-grandchildren, Justin Miller and Renee Miller, both of Las Cruces, and Kelsey Hahn of Albuquerque; brother, Delbert Redfearn of Mountainair and Don Redfearn and wife, Evelyn of Jackson Hole, WY; and sisters, Evelyn Murillo and husband, Tony of Phoenix, AZ and Lynell Davenport of Belen, NM. Strickland -- Louise Strickland, 76, a one year resident of Albuquerque, and former longtime resident of Lubbock, TX, died Thursday, August 19, 1999. Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvie M. Strickland of Albuquerque; daughter, Luana Fox and husband, Dale of Albuquerque; son, Larry Strickland and wife, Laura of New Brannfels, TX; grandchildren, Mike and Nancy, Mark and Sunnee, Jill and Barry, Tim and Julie, Carrie and Bill, Brenda, Jeff and Deanna, Ginger, Clint, Lucy, Reagan, Ramona and Randol; great-grandchildren, Jaeden, Raillee, Jacob, Isaac, Brian, Kristy, Mollie, Chris and Jason; sister, Olene Falls; brother, Bill Wright and wife, Mahala; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Poly Wright; and brothers, J.C. and Ray Wright. Mrs. Strickland graduated from Spring Lake High School in Texas, where she was the football homecoming queen. She completed the School of Mediation. She was very active with and on the Board of Directors of Contact Lubbock. She was eager to encourage voting and patriotism, and was active in St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock, TX, with prayer groups, Sunday school, and vacation Bible school. Services will be held Saturday, August 21, 1999, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Swendson -- Fern G. Swendson, age 84, a long time resident and retired Dairy Farm Operator, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Velma Kelly; son-in-law, Dave Kelly; and granddaughter, Fern Anita Kelly; sister, Irene Steuerwald of California; niece, Joyce Morton of Texas; grandniece, Rachel Pyle of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sven J. Swendson; daughter, Irene and sister, Velma Daggett. Graveside services will be held on August 23, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE. Pastor Larry from Saint Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Schaffer -- Doris Betty Schaffer died on Friday, August 13, 1999 at the age of 67 from ovarian cancer. Doris is survived by four siblings, Joanne, Ramond, Jeremy and William; seven children, Cheri, Marcella, Richard, Paula, Larry, Howard and Laura; nine grandchildren, Jenna, Julie, Jamie, Caren, Mark, Angila, Christina, Nicki and Joshua; and four great-grandchildren, Drake, Raina, Tristen and Evan. Montoya -- Tommy R. Montoya, 36, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 14, 1999. Tommy was the beloved father of three daughters, Crystal Montoya, Sybil Montoya and boyfriend, Steven Coca, and Jessica Montoya; two sons, Jacob Francia and Tommy Montoya Jr. Tommy is also survived by his loving mother, Mary Jane Garcia and his loving father, Robert Montoya and wife, Shirley; five sisters, Annette Montoya and fiance, Victor Mendoza, Frances Montoya, Theresa Duran and boyfriend, Larry Montoya, Louise Valdez, Monica Garcia and Ceci Sedillo; three brothers, Danny Montoya, Ruben Garcia and John Anthony Gallegos; grandfather, Carlos Montoya; three grandchildren, Tiffany Montoya, Jeremy Coca and Shantia Montoya; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tommy was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 Stover Ave. SE, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Deacon Montoya and Carlos Montoya reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church with visitation at the church after 9:30 a.m. Father Moore, Celebrant. Garcia -- Mr. Rafael Garcia, 66, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 10, 1999 peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family. Mr. Garcia was the beloved husband of 43 years to Mrs. Gloria Garcia. Mr. Garcia is also survived by three daughters, Anna M. Guerra and husband, Abel, Carol A. Garcia and Sandra C. Baldonado and husband, Eloy; two sons, Ralph A. Garcia and wife, Gloria, and Rick M. Garcia and wife, Becky; eight sisters, Martha, Patsy, Anita, Gloria, Sally, Freddie, Vera and Diane; one brother, Manuel; nine grandchildren, Raelene, Gabriel, Christina, Julie, Janelle, Matthew, Victoria, Cassandra and Marisa. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto.
