Aragon -- Claudia Aragon, 81, beloved and devoted Mother, grandmother, and sister, was surrounded by her loving family when she was called home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 17, 1999. Mrs. Aragon was born on March 14, 1918 in Cubero, NM to Marcelino and Rosalia Gonzales; she was a resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church; she worked for Schwartzman Packing Co. for 19 years and enjoyed working with ceramics. She is survived by four sons, Ernest Aragon Jr., Sisto Aragon, Joe Aragon, and Tommy Aragon; four daughters, Mary Montoya, Pauline Aragon, Brenda De La Cruz, Anna Marie Roman and husband, Miguel all of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Marcelino Gonzales and wife, Anna Marie. Visitation will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Marcelino Aragon, Bruno Aragon, Rudy Lovato, Julian Aragon, Levon Van Ert and Johnny Ray Aragon. Armijo -- Fred B. Armijo, 74, beloved husband and father, passed away on August 9, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Mr. Armijo retired from the services industry, where he worked at such landmarks as the Alvarado Hotel and others. He is survived by his wife, Josephine; son, John Armijo of Albuquerque; daughter, Mona (Pat) Timlin of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters, Christina Romero of Las Vegas, NV, Julianna Nuanes of Albuquerque; grandson, Patrick Timlin Jr. of Phoenix; and great-grandson, Stephen Nieto of Las Vegas. Mr. Armijo is also survived by his brother, Frank Armijo; sisters, Cecilia Armijo, Agnes (Pat) Baca; and several nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., August 19, at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover Ave. SW, with a Mass at 9:00 a.m. on August 20. Interment will be held at Mount Calvary Cemetery following the Mass.

Corn -- Arlene Cresswell Corn, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 15, at home in Lockhart, Texas. She was born in Joplin, MO in 1913. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George H. Corn, in 1975; and a sister, Mary Pratt, in 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Georgia George and husband, Don of Lockhart, TX and Arzetta Yates and husband, Tom of Los Lunas. She is also survived by one sister, Johnnita Johnson of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Los Chavez. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE, with Funeral services at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, with Boyd Morerod officiating. Coulter -- May E. Coulter, 98, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, died Wednesday, August 18, 1999. Flannery -- Brian Michael Flannery, born April 21, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois passed away August 17, 1999 at home with his family. Daughters, Marcie Carpenter and Suzi Joy Truby; son, Douglas; sons-in-law, Jeffrey Truby and Thomas Carpenter; and granddaughters, Christina Perez Carpenter, Grace Carpenter, and Alexandra Jessica Truby; his sister, Gnomi Schrift-Gouldin, and his cherished wife of 32 years, Phyllis, survive him. Brian, the son of immigrant parents, grew up in Chicago; he dropped out of Roosevelt High School at age 16 and traveled around the Country until joining the U.S. Navy in 1960. He spent 4 years as a Seaman/Radarman aboard the USS Talbot County, LST 1153. He served several tours of duty and took part in the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Of all Brian's many accomplishments, he was most proud of having served in the United States Navy. He returned to Chicago after leaving the Navy in 1964, where he met the love of his life and future wife, Phyllis (Becker) Flannery. Brian and Phyllis were married during the height of the"Summer of Love" in 1967. Brian earned his G.E.D. while in the Navy and began taking evening classes at Northwestern University while working full time. In 1973 he graduated from Loyola University School of Law after attending night school for nine years. He worked for 1 and 1/ 2 years as an Assistant District Attorney for Bernalillo County and then practiced law at 10th and Marquette, Albuquerque, until forced to retire last year due to pancreatic cancer. He specialized in criminal defense law. Brian enjoyed many pastimes and activities, including skiing, hiking, traveling, fishing, and bicycling. Brian and Phyllis loved traveling to major sports events, including major league baseball, basketball, and football games, and numerous championship fights. He regretted that he never saw his beloved Chicago White Sox crowned World Champs. Brian was a member of Congregation B'Nai Israel. A funeral service will be held at Congregation B'Nai Israel, 4401 Indian School Road N.E., at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 20, 1999 with Rabbi Issac H. Celnik officiating. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission and the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship Fund. Fulton -- Alan Thomas, 55, died on Sunday, August 15, 1999 in Albuquerque. He was born on February 19, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Alan is survived by his loving wife, Mary and three devoted children, Brad, Shannon and Robin. Also a beloved and devoted friend and co-worker Cece Lopez. All reside in Albuquerque. He is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Lorenzo Tafoya, Edward Martinac, David Woodward and Theresa Madrid; nieces and nephews, Christine and Ben Lucero and Charlene Madrid; three great-nephews, Ben, Kevin and and Kyle Lucero, all residing in Denver. Alan taught special education classes at Armijo and La Mesa Elementary Schools in Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed and loved forever by his family and friends. Holcomb -- Nadine Holcomb of West Palm Beach, FL and Albuquerque, NM peacefully passed away on Monday, August 16, 1999. Nadine was born March 11, 1952 in LaMesa, TX. Although she was raised in Albuquerque, NM, she made her home in West Palm Beach, FL for the past 15 years where she pursued her dream of becoming a nurse. She successfully completed the nursing program at Palm Beach Community College and began her career at JFK Hospital in 1987. These rare qualities were apparent when she talked with people at Lourdes-Noreen McKeen Residence where she worked as a LPN and Charge Nurse. Nadine's passion for country music was distinctly visible every time she sang with her sweet voice. She will always be remembered for her selflessness and willingness to help others. She is cherished by her loving son, Joe J. Vaquera; her daughter, Jody M. Vaquera; mother, Josephine Rodriguez; six sisters, Jessie Dunn, Marylou Garcia, Candi Rodriguez, Lupe Sanchez, Linda DeSotell, and Rita Sosa; and brother, Castulo Rodriguez, Jr. Additional survivors include two grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews and countless friends. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 1999 at QUATTLEBAUM-HOLLEMAN-BURSE FUNERAL HOME, West Palm Beach, FL. Perea -- Leonardo L. Perea, 82, passed away August 18, 1999. He was born in San Mateo, NM and resided in Albuquerque since 1946. He was preceded in death by wife, Agapita Perea. Segura -- Julian A. Segura, age 88, passed away August 16, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melisendra Segura; and his daughter, Hazel Segura. He is survived by his three daughters, Reina West and husband, Edward Gene of Tuston, CA, Mary M. Segura of Albuquerque, Theresa E. Miller of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Julian was an outdoor man and a rodeo cowboy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. A Rosary will be recited today at 7:00 p.m., at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with interment to follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Testman -- John T. Testman, a resident of Albuquerque since 1930, passed away in Taos, New Mexico. He was born October 12, 1905 in Canyon, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Naomi Owens Testman; his second wife, Nell Heard Bibo Testman; his sister, Vega Testman; and a granddaughter, Roberta Garwood Scahill. He is survived by daughters, Theresa T. Garwood of Albuquerque and Svea (Peggy) T. Stevens and husband, William L. of Taos, NM; grandchildren, Billy Garwood and wife, Linda, Ted Garwood and wife, Diane, Richard Stevens and wife, Cydney, Johnny Stevens and fiancee, Patricia Cantrell, and Carin Stevens Anderson and husband, Eric; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-sons, John Heard and Pat and wife, Lorraine. He was a partner in the Huning-Testman Electrical Co. before WWII. His New Mexico National Guard Unit was called to duty in November 1941 and he served until December 1945. He was a charter member of the first Optimists Club formed in Albuquerque in March, 1940, called the Downtown Optimist Club. After WWII, he became a general contractor and constructed many churches, schools and commercial buildings. Later, he and Dub Underwood formed Underwood-Testman Construction Company and were the contractors for the College of Education Complex at the University of New Mexico and The Elks Club Building among many other fine buildings. In 1949, he served as President of the forming committees for what later became the Associated General Contractors and served as the first President of that organization in 1953. He was a member of Temple #6 of the Masonic Lodge which he served as Worshipful Master in 1954, the Scottish Rite Temple and the Shriners Club, served on the Vestry of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral, and belonged to several other clubs, including the Toastmasters Club and the Elks Club. The past decade he had alternated living with his daughters. Services will be held Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Torres -- Jose Remijio J. Torres, 78, a resident of Belen and formerly of El Cerro, passed away on Tuesday August 17, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Jose retired from the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School after 21 1/2 years of outstanding service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary G. Torres and sons, Valentino Joseph Patrick, and Julian Ray Torres. He is survived by his 10 children, sons, Jose Elfido Torres and his wife, Ernestina of San Antonio, TX, David Torres and his wife, Ramona, Daniel"Hippie" and his wife, Patsy, Alfred Torres and his wife, Christine all of Los Lunas; daughters, Natalia Garcia and her husband, Esteven of Carnuel, Adela Gallegos of Los Lunas, Carmen Torres and Art Alvarez of Tucson, AZ, Gloria Armijo and her husband, Eloy, Dolores Torres and Mike Jaramillo of Belen, Antonette Torres and Rudy Gallegos of Vaughn; daughter-in-law, Gloria Torres of Los Lunas; 28 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Jose is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Joseph Torres, Jose E. Torres Jr., Dennis Torres, and Brian Torres, Steven Somera and Ernest J. Sena.
