Kelly -- Dr. Charles R. Kelly, a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, passed away on September 26, 2001. Charles was born on May 10, 1923 in Ohio to Charles and Helen Moulton Kelly. He was proud to have served his country as a United States Marine and served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Charles graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Periodontal Surgery. Dr. Kelly had oral surgery practices in both Ohio and New Mexico for many years. Dr. Kelly was a member of the American Dental Association and also served as an administrator on the Physicians Board of Directors for Presbyterian Hospital and had many other medical affiliations and organizations to which he served. Charles was a very gallant member and past President of the Ohio State Alumni Club of New Mexico,"Go Bucks!" Charles was very passionate about traveling and loved doing collage projects with the photographs he had taken of his family and friends. He loved to golf and was a member of the Four Hills and Albuquerque Country Clubs. Dr. Charles Kelly was known by his family and friends to be the most patriotic American and was a true Republican. Charles was a very beloved father, friend and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Charles was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara. He is survived by his children, Cindy Conlon and husband, Bob, David Kelly and wife, Georgene, Ann Kelly Pitre, Jennifer White and husband, Darren and Charles R. Kelly, Jr. He is also survived by two sisters; and his precious grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Kevin, Caitlin, Molly, Zac and Lauren and many cherished friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service for Dr. Kelly will be held this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Rio Rancho Funeral Home with Pastor Michael J. Schamp as Officiant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, October 3, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Newman -- Iris Mae Newman, 78, born to Helen Martin and James Coleman in Huntington, West Virginia, formerly from Brooklyn, New York and a resident of Rio Rancho for 19 years, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2001. Iris Mae is survived by her husband, George Newman, and children, Frances Weir and husband, Don, Charlotte Klau and husband, Larry, Michael Newman and wife, Mary, Paul Newman and wife, Marie, Roseanne Hopkins, Steven Newman and wife, Linda. She is also survived by her brother, Archie Coleman and wife, Margie; brothers-in-law, Norman Mayer, Lester Newman and wife, Lillian; sisters-in-law, Annabelle Cohen and Edith Newman; cousin, Mary Frances Reckeweg and husband, Ben; uncle, Harold Martin; grandchildren, Donna Sulek and husband, Bob, John Weir, April Paulton and husband, Tracy, Michael David Newman, Steven Kofsky, Jon Frankel, Dani Hinckley and husband, Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Sulek, Kaleb, Kelsey and Joshua Paulton, Colleen Kofsky; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Newman was a past officer and leader of TOPS and KOPS and received many honors from her association with this organization. Browning -- George W. Browning, Jr., age 85, died of cardiac arrest enroute to the hospital on Monday, September 24, 2001. A son of Arkansas, he was born on February 9, 1916, in Sulphur Rock to George Washington Browning and Beulah Lee Owens Browning. He was a graduate of Batesville High School and the University of Arkansas. On September 3, 1941, he married Helen Holmes, his high school sweetheart. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just recently with family and friends from throughout the country. During World War II, Mr. Browning served in the United States Coast Guard. From 1951 to 1984, the Brownings lived in Albuquerque where he was associated with Sandia National Laboratories. He organized the Albuquerque Razorback Club, was an avid gardener and took great pride in his rose garden. Interested in his genealogy, he was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, the Meriwether Society and organized the Little Rock Company of the Jamestown Society. A mason for some 50 years, he was a member of Mesa Lodge #68 in Albuquerque, the Santa Fe Lodge of Perfection and Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine. An active Episcopalian for 60 years, he served on the vestry, supervised the Sunday School, and after his return to Arkansas in 1984, devoted ten years to R.A.I.N., Regional Aids Interfaith Network. As members of the original care team from St. Mark's, he and Mrs. Browning were among the first volunteers in Arkansas' fight against AIDS. Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; his sister, Mildred Browning Cole; and his only daughter, Elizabeth Holmes Browning Durrie. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his sons, George and Ed of Baltimore, MD; his son-in-law, Nick Durrie and future daughter-in-law, Sandy McGovern both of Chevy Chase, MD; grandson, Justin Durrie of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Kyle Durrie of Brunswick, Maine; and his brother, John of Highstown, NJ and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to join his large extended family at a Memorial Service to be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2001. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.

Bobbitt -- Wesley Reid Bobbitt, 52, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, a passionate and honorable man, died Saturday, September 15, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Weber-Bobbitt; sons, John Wesley Browning and Jerrod Weber Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; mother, Betty Kearse Bobbitt of Charlottesville, VA; brothers, Bo Bobbitt and wife, Bonnie of Fayetteville, GA and Tim Bobbitt of Charlottesville, VA; nephew, Russell Bobbitt; niece, Melanie Bobbitt, both of Fayetteville, GA; aunt, Particia Ingersoll of Lake Forest, IL; sister-in-law, Bonnie Bobbitt of Fayetteville, GA; office kids, Chris Below, Krista Perea and Von Anaya, all of Albuquerque; many friends and relatives; and ex-wife, Helen Browning of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. O.B. Bobbitt of Charlottesville, VA. Wesley was born in Charlottesville, VA. He was a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School. After working for the District Attorneys' office in Carlsbad and Albuquerque, he was in private practice for the past 18 years. Wes was ever the student and teacher. Mr. Bobbitt was discretely generous as a lawyer and a friend and was the only lifetime member of the Albuquerque Chapter of the Irish American Society. Etka -- Helen Peugh Harding-Etka, 94, a long-time Albuquerque resident, died Thursday, September 20, 2001. She is survived by her grandsons, Michael Harding of Santa Fe, NM and David Harding and wife, Laura of Glorietta, NM; great-granddaughter, Muriah Harding of Glorietta; sister, Oella Peugh of Tennessee; nephew, Isham Peugh of Massachusetts; niece, JoAnn Niedens of Tennessee; grand-niece, Debbie Niedens of Tennessee. Mrs. Etka was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church. She was also a member of San Marcial Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and of AARP. Mrs. Etka loved baking and her fine apple pies were especially known for their goodness. She grew up in Hoisington, Kansas where she lived until moving to Albuquerque in the 1940's. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Her cremated remains will be interred in Hoisington Cemetery in Hoisington, Kansas along with her parents, Frank and Hattie Peugh. Jackson -- Mabel Jackson, 93, a resident of Albuquerque for 36 years, died on Friday, September 21, 2001. Jaramillo -- Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jaramillo, 61, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away on September 21, 2001. Mrs. Jaramillo is the beloved wife of 30 years to Mr. Alberto Jaramillo. She is also survived by seven daughters, Carmenlita Busby and husband Wayne, Viola Benally and husband Lee, Victoria Denetclaw, Albertina Jaramillo, Judy Lovato and husband Eli, Noel Gutierrez and boy friend James, Sandra Abeyta and husband Randy; eight sons, Paul Denetclaw Jr. and wife Martha, Chris Jaramillo, Frank Maldonado and wife Ruth, Marcial Jaramillo and wife Yvette, Manuel Jaramillo and wife Sheri, Robert Jaramillo and wife Frances, Ross Jaramillo and wife Dorothy and Jeff Jaramillo; four sisters, Diane Smith, Phyllis Smith King and husband Ernie, Florence Dick and husband Andrew and Yvonne Denetclaw; five brothers, Dr. Phillip Smith M.D. and wife Joann, Donald Smith and wife Joann, Leonard Smith, George Smith, Albert Smith and wife Helen; 38 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Jaramillo was a member of the Catholic Church. She was so proud of her two brothers Albert and George Smith they were Navajo Code Talkers for World War II. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 by Edgar Torres. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:00 at Our Lady of Gudalupe Catholic Church with final visitation at the church after 9:30. Father Joe Vigil, celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Chris Jaramillo, Frank Maldonado, Marcial Jaramillo, Eli Lovato, Ross Jaramillo, Robert Jaramillo and Randy Abeyta. Anagnostelis -- James Francis Anagnostelis, 14, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2001, after a sudden but brief battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his parents, Jeri and James Anagnostelis; brother, Peter Anagnostelis, all of Albuquerque; grandparents, June and Jerry Britt of Albuquerque and Gus and Barbara Anagnostelis of The Woodlands, TX; great-grandmother, Helen May of San Rafael, CA; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. James was a Freshman at La Cueva High School and for the last several years he ran track and cross-country for the Albuquerque Track Club. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including camping and was an avid snowboarder. James was very tenderhearted and compassionate. His many friends and family will greatly miss him. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2001, at 10:00 a.m., at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE, with Pastor Dave Bruskas officiating.
