Anaya -- Ramona C. Anaya, 90, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died Monday, September 24, 2001. She will be missed by her loving family, Carmen and Paul Garcia, Vicky and Frank Davis, Gloria and Ramon Salas, Betty Anaya; and Joan Anaya, all of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. She will be met by her husband, Joe Anaya, son, John Anaya, and 2 grandchildren who have preceded her in death. Ramona was proud to be an APS Foster grandmother for 21 years at MacArthur Elementary where she was known as"Grandma Monie." She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the American Legion. Services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2001, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with Father Manuel Viera and Deacon Robert Paiz, officiating. Anglin -- Anthony (Andy) David Anglin, 38, beloved and devoted son, brother and father was called home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, September 23, 2001. An earthly light flickered out and a new light born in heaven. And so, Andy, our sweet son, loyal brother, loving father; we, who are left with only cherished memories, bid you farewell for a while, until we meet again. Andy is survived by his loving parents, Billy A. and Lola M. Anglin of Edgewood; his children, Amanda Rose and Vidal Anglin both of Albuquerque; one brother, Michael A. Anglin and wife, Patty of Edgewood. Also surviving are his nephews, Jason and Kenneth Anglin; uncles and aunts, Dale and Marcy Anglin of Albuquerque, Donald and Patricia Hensley of Farmington, David and Gail Duke of El Paso, TX; and numerous cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations for Andy will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd Street NW, with the Reverend Chris Carlson officiating. Browning -- George W. Browning, Jr., age 85, died of cardiac arrest enroute to the hospital on Monday, September 24, 2001. A son of Arkansas, he was born on February 9, 1916, in Sulphur Rock to George Washington Browning and Beulah Lee Owens Browning. He was a graduate of Batesville High School and the University of Arkansas. On September 3, 1941, he married Helen Holmes, his high school sweetheart. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary just recently with family and friends from throughout the country. During World War II, Mr. Browning served in the United States Coast Guard. From 1951 to 1984, the Brownings lived in Albuquerque where he was associated with Sandia National Laboratories. He organized the Albuquerque Razorback Club, was an avid gardener and took great pride in his rose garden. Interested in his genealogy, he was a member of Sons of the American Revolution, the Meriwether Society and organized the Little Rock Company of the Jamestown Society. A mason for some 50 years, he was a member of Mesa Lodge #68 in Albuquerque, the Santa Fe Lodge of Perfection and Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine. An active Episcopalian for 60 years, he served on the vestry, supervised the Sunday School, and after his return to Arkansas in 1984, devoted ten years to R.A.I.N., Regional Aids Interfaith Network. As members of the original care team from St. Mark's, he and Mrs. Browning were among the first volunteers in Arkansas' fight against AIDS. Mr. Browning was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert; his sister, Mildred Browning Cole; and his only daughter, Elizabeth Holmes Browning Durrie. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his sons, George and Ed of Baltimore, MD; his son-in-law, Nick Durrie and future daughter-in-law, Sandy McGovern both of Chevy Chase, MD; grandson, Justin Durrie of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Kyle Durrie of Brunswick, Maine; and his brother, John of Highstown, NJ and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends are invited to join his large extended family at a Memorial Service to be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2001. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1000 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, AR 72207. Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home.

Burnett -- Louise F. Burnett, a resident of Albuquerque for 42 years, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, William H. Burnett. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Burnett de Gomez and son-in-law, Leo Gomez; son, William Burnett and daughter-in-law, Sharon Burnett; granddaughters, Erin and Lyndsey Burnett of Plano, TX; and her dog, Tai Tai. Special thanks to caring friends, Jeanette Romero, Phyllis Fetherolf, Terence Prasek and David Baumann. Mrs. Burnett was born February 23, 1921 in Patrick County, VA and raised as a farmer's daughter near Madison, NC. She graduated from Leaksville Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and worked in obstetrics and emergency medicine. Mrs. Burnett helped her husband serve the U.S. Air Force with tours of duty in Germany, Turkey and several U.S. locations. Active in local business, she was president of Burnett Insurance, Inc. from 1962 until her retirement in 1992. She loved gardening, animals, puzzles, books and politics. She was a member and deacon of La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE where services will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2001, 11:00 a.m. Private interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Carnes -- Bernice E. Carnes, 81, a resident of Tijeras, died Saturday, September 22, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra C. Fulton and husband, Brett of Edgewood, NM; granddaughter, Ashley; sisters-in-law, Charlotte and Martha Ann; and numerous other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, James J. Carnes, who served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII with the to 464th Bomber Group. Cordova -- Eufersin Cordova, age 81, a life long resident of Albuquerque died September 22, 2001. She was born December 12, 1919 in Albuquerque to the late Desiderro and Monica Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Pete C. Cordova of Albuquerque; three daughters, Edna and Joe Romero, Silvia and Fred Baca, Jacqueline Mora all of Albuquerque; two sons, Edwin and Anita Cordova, Art and Duane Cordova all of Albuquerque; sister, Felia and Cipano Garcia of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one son, Robert Cordova in 1949; four brothers, Candido, George, Delfino, and Joe Garcia; one sister, Dolores Cordova. Eufersin was a member of the San Felipe De Neri Church, she took care of her mother for 18 years and enjoyed being around her children, she worked for Sanitary Laundry, cleaning homes and was a stay at home wife, her hobbies included sewing and crocheting. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2001 with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Coryell -- Marjorie Nelson Coryell, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2001 in Albuquerque. She was the wife of the late Irving Coryell, a prominent Albuquerque architect. Marjorie was a professional librarian. She was born and raised in Chisholm, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. E. H. Nelson. After graduation from Chisholm High School, she attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she received a BS Degree in Library Science. After various positions in both school and public libraries for a few years, she decided to do post graduate work at Columbia University in New York, where she received a Master's Degree. During World War II, she served with the US Army Special Services as librarian to help organize and administer their Post Libraries, one of which was Ft. Brady, Michigan. She was later transferred to Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, where she met her husband-to-be, Irving Coryell. They were married in June, 1945. After the war, she was a research librarian with the Defense Intelligence Library at Arlington Hall, Virginia. She later transferred to the Main Navy Library in Washington. DC. She was a very active member of the American Association of University Women until her resignation in 1968. She was also a member of the American Library Association and of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish in Albuquerque. Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2001 at Our Lady Annunciation, 2621 Vermont NE. at Claremont. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Dodds -- Kent Lee Dodds, 39, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, died Friday, September 21, 2001 in Albuquerque, from injuries sustained in an accident. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Friends may sign the register at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be no family visitation time and the casket will remain closed. Memorials have been established to the Park Place Care Center and the American Red Cross. Kent was born on February 19, 1962, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, to Mort and Barbara Hill Dodds. He was a 1980 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. He attended Iowa State University. Over the years, Kent worked as a helicopter paramedic in Indiana, Florida, California, and New Mexico. Currently, he was employed as a supervising lab technician in Albuquerque. In 1997, he married Ha Diep in Albuquerque. She survives. While growing up, Kent was in the Boy Scouts, played drums in the High School Marching Band, and attended the First United Methodist Church. He studied karate and had acquired his brown belt while attending college. He enjoyed his family and especially loved spending time with his young son, Brandon. Besides his wife, Kent is survived by his son, Brandon Lee Dodds of Albuquerque; his father and step-mother, Mort and Audrey Dodds of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one brother, Randy (Peggy) Dodds of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; grandmother, Emma Dodds of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and by several other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1989; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandfather, Ewing Dodds.

Frank -- Terry Raymond Frank, significant other of Catherine Mathiasen and her three children, passed away September 25, 2001. He was cremated. He leaves behind his mother, Eunice Simpson; stepfather, Robert Simpson; his brother and sister, Peter Frank and Wende Schultz and their families. "T" was born in Oak Park, Ill. in 1951 but lived in Albuquerque since 1953, attending Manzano High School and UNM. He was a general contractor and enjoyed working with his hands. The desert where he prospected and searched for treasures will call out his name, but"the one that got away" in that river in the Jemez will breathe a sigh of relief. A cunning linguist, he loved to hear and repeat malapropisms or "mochos." "T" loved the smell of green chile roasting and was always ready to help someone if he could. To the people who owed him money, "hey, I guess you're off the hook". To those he owed money, "hey, I guess I am, too". Those he left behind will miss his key lime pies and his garden. Terry was appreciative of all kindnesses, visits and prayers during his illness. Contributions may be made to UNMH Cancer Center or UNM Hospice Care. Fruits -- Donald R. Fruits, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Monday, September 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann Fruits of Albuquerque; daughters, Kari Castillo and husband, Bill of Albuquerque and Kathi Murzyn and husband, Jay of St. Paul, MN; son, Khris Fruits of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Aubrey Jimenez; grandsons, Sterling Castillo, Everson and Elliot Murzyn; brother, Lee Fruits of Washington; sister, Nola Botkin of Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews; and other family members. Mr. Fruits retired from the U.S. Air Force after 22 years of service to his country. He then worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. Mr. Fruits was a faithful servant of God and a member of the Northeast church of Christ. Geis -- Walter S. Geis, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, September 24, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Geis, which celebrated their 68 years wedding anniversary on his birthday, January 31st. He is also survived by his sons, Robert Bob J. Geis and wife, Anna Mae of Albuquerque and Edward Ed J. Geis of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Jennifer McColley and husband, Scott of Littleton, CO, Catherine Wright and husband, Brian of Reno, NV, Edward Geis and wife, GeGe of Corpus Christi, TX, Patricia Cossette and husband, Mitchell of Olympia WA, Bradley Geis and husband, Chris of Glendale, AZ, Stephen R. Geis, Robin Schritter and husband, Bill and Gayle Geis-O'Dowd and husband, Daniel, all of Albuquerque; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary; daughter-in-law, Barbara; and all of his twelve brothers and sisters. He was a member of the Albuquerque Police Department for ten years, worked for the Bernalillo Co. Sheriffs Department serving as Under Sheriff to Sheriff Harold Nubbell and was also the State Fair Police Chief for eight years and served as an Investigator for the State Human Rights Commission. He was well-known in the Sports Circles as a baseball umpire and was the first umpire inducted into the Albuquerque Softball & Baseball Hall of Fame on September 28, 1984. Upon his retirement he repaired free of charge many baseball gloves for Little Leaguers and High School players. He was a lifelong member of Fraternal Order of Police, Knights of Columbus and National Sheriffs Association. Gleason -- Alvin L. "Buster" Gleason, 82, was born in Albuquerque on September 11, 1919, and passed away September 24, 2001. He worked for the State Health Lab and later retired from A.C.F. Hammond -- Frank S. Hammond Jr, age 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 26 years died September 22, 2001. Survivors include one daughter, Matlena Hammond; step-daughter, Debra Brown; one son, Gerald Hammond all of Albuquerque, NM; one sister, Octavia Stewart of Denver, CO; one brother, Cavalier Hammond of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Frank is preceded in death by his wives, Matlena J, and Constance N. He was a member of both the D.A.V. & V.F.W. Hardison -- Irene F. Hardison, 83, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 20, 2001 in Albuquerque. She was born on Christmas Day in 1917, the sixth of ten children of Tranquillo and Lena Paganetti of Marshall, California. After graduating from St. Mary's College in San Francisco, she worked at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Hollywood until the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. Irene enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps and served in the China-Burma-India theater in WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart. She is a published author of "A Nightingale In The Jungle" which describes her wartime experiences. On January 21, 1946, she married Thomas A. Hardison, an Army engineer she met aboard a troop ship bound for the Far East. After the war, she accompanied her husband and worked in Los Alamos, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, Kwajalcin Island, Venezuela, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. Irene will be remembered for her vibrant enthusiasm and optimism and her daily celebration of life was an inspiration to all that knew her. She and Tom served as faithful members of Ridgecrest Christian Church. Although retired, her dedication continued to care for ailing family and friends. Always warm and encouraging, she was everyone's"grandma." Irene survived her beloved husband by five months having been married for 55 years. She is survived by her daughter Valerie Bryant and husband Bill of Albuquerque; granddaughter Christina Henry and husband Tony of Broomfield, Colorado; granddaughter Sabrina Bryant of Albuquerque; sister Anita Ward of San Rafael, California; brother Peter Paganetti and wife Rosie of Mackay, Idaho; and her dear longtime family friends Tony Natoli of Honolulu, and Sue Maes of Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held on September 29, 2001 at 3:30 PM at Ridgecrest Christian Church located at 5300 Eastern Ave., SE (near San Mateo and Gibson). In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make contributions to the church in memory of Irene. The remains will be interred later in the Paganetti plot in Tomales, California.

Herrera -- Ninfa A. Herrera, a life long resident of Albuquerque died on September 23, 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Judy A. Tobyas; one sister, Jessie Duran; three grandchildren, Audrey and Ariel Tobyas; Brett McMahon all of Albuquerque; also by numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Her husband, Ralph C. Herrera precedes Ninfa in death. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. Ilfeld -- Arthur C. Ilfeld, Jr. 85, was born in Las Vegas, NM on July 19, 1916. He has been a resident of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho since 1925. He was the grandson of Charles Ilfeld, a pioneer in New Mexico and founder of the Charles Ilfeld Co. Subsequent to the closing of the Charles Ilfeld Co., Arthur owned and operated several businesses in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Aura C. Ilfeld; daughter, Suzanne Burge and husband, Elwood; and son, Charles Ilfeld, III and wife, Carla. His youngest son, James Charles Ilfeld preceded him in death. Klein -- Walter H. Klein, a six year resident of Jemez Springs died on Sept 24, 2001. He was 49. He was the last baby born in the Army Hospital in Los Alamos on Dec. 30, 1951 to Walter and Margaret Klein. During his last six years back in New Mexico, he worked for Los Alamos County, owned Tony's Pizzeria Restaurant, and recently bought the La Cueva Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Judith"Leithe"; three stepsons, Robert, Stephen and Michael Vasile of Glendora, CA; his mother, Margaret Klein of Rio Rancho; siblings, John Klein and wife, Mo of Rio Rancho, Jerry Klein and wife, Yvonne of Naperville Illinois, Jimmy Klein of Rio Rancho, Carolyn and husband, Ruben Valverde of Farmington, Ed Klein of Albuquerque and Kim and husband, Gerald Nicoli of Trinidad, CO. Lovato -- Tomas Lovato, a WWII Veteran, passed away on September 22, 2001 at the VA Hospital. He will join his beloved, belated wife, Sally Martinez-Lovato. He is survived by his brother, Ernest Lovato and wife, Alice; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Perdue -- James W. "Jim" Perdue, loving father, grandfather, and friend, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 22, 2001. Ulrich -- John A. Ulrich died Thursday, September 20, 2001, at UCLA Medical Center in California. He was 86. He was born May 15, 1915. Mr. Ulrich was a microbiologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and a professor at the University of New Mexico. He had been a professor emeritus since 1982. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ulrich of Venice, CA; three sons; three daughters; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Vreeland -- Richard J. Vreeland, 54, a resident of Albuquerque since 1988, died Thursday, September 20, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Patricia Vreeland; daughter, Jessica Vreeland; son, Chris Vreeland, all of Albuquerque; sister, Valerie Rogowski and husband, Joseph of Douglasville, GA; brother, Robert Vreeland of Albuquerque; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Vreeland served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army. He was involved in a serious automobile accident in 1976, which left him a quadriplegic. After years of therapy, Mr. Vreeland was able to attend Ramapo College where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He attended Christ Lutheran Church where he was involved in Bible Studies and social activities. Wylie -- Beverly Joyce Rakestraw Wylie, 69, cherished mother, grandmother and friend, found her angels' wings fully grown to carry her away as she was surrounded in her home by loving family members on September 23, 2001. She will be reunited with her beloved husband, Marshall J. Wylie, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1989 and her parents, David U. and Virginia"Sissy" Rakestraw and many others who promised to leave a path of pebbles to help her find her way. Joyce is survived by her sons; Steven M. Wylie and wife, Nancy, of Dallas, TX, Patrick T. Wylie and wife, Julie, of Sandia Park, NM; daughter, Sandra K. Wylie of Tijeras, NM; stepson, Marshall J. Wylie, Jr. and wife, Pam, of Albuquerque; stepdaughter Lide Breeze of Albuquerque; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other loving family members. Joyce was born in El Paso, TX on October 24, 1931 and moved to Albuquerque at the age of three, where she lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and went on to major in drama at the University of New Mexico. Joyce then became a devoted wife and mother at the age of 24. She spent numerous years as an active member of the Junior League of Albuquerque and tirelessly devoted hours to the American Cancer Society. Joyce was an accomplished pianist and delighted in leading the group in song with her harmonica, her accordion, or any other musical instrument that might be handy. She never met a stranger and made all who knew her feel as if they were the most special person in the world. Her wacky sense of humor was contagious, and her gentle loving nature was a gift to all. Her thirst of knowledge, her passion for music, her love of movies and drama defined a woman of depth and inspiration. Such things in life that brought her joy were her friends and family, gardening, woodwork, crafts, learning, reading, dogs, travel and her beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains. Her adventurous spirit prompted her to attain her private pilot's license, to hang glide, to parasail, to ski, to golf, to river raft, and to try just about anything once. The light of joy and happiness that Joyce brought to those who knew and loved her will burn brightly in their hearts forever. The family wishes to express profound gratitude to all of the angels at Lovelace Hospice who made the journey of her final days safe and peaceful. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 27, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 7500 Paseo del Norte NE, to be immediately followed by burial of her ashes.
