DURAN -- Virginia A. Duran born April 16, 1913 in Norton, NM but lived most of her life in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, Petrolino and Adela M. Anaya; husband, Alfredo Amado Duran; two brothers, Aniceto and Jose Anaya; two sisters, Cecelia Trujillo and Rebecca Montoya. She is survived by her three children; Jerry and wife, Mary Duran, Alicia and husband, Gene Guerin, Julius and wife, Donna Duran. She is also survived by three generations of grand, great and great-great grandchildren and her dedicated Paloma Blanca caregivers, Judith Duran and Diana. Virginia's active years were spent giving of her time to God in the Cursillo Movement, the Weekend of Christian Living Ministries and the Legion of Mary. She was promoter of the Miraculous Medal and a member of the Sacred Heart League of San Felipe Church. LUCERO -- Inez Lucero, 70, found complete healing from cancer October 30, 2010, and now rests with the Lord Jesus Christ and her son, Dalmacio Lucero. She was born in Duran, New Mexico on January 21, 1940 to Guillermo and Casimira Hijar. She graduated from Encino High School and moved to Albuquerque to work in the Home Care profession. Caring for her parents eventually brought her back to Duran where she resided until becoming terminally ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and only son, Dalmacio. She is survived by her sisters Carmen Larranaga of Anton Chico, Mary Ellen Hijar, Arcelia Jaramillo and Leonor Mendez, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to caring for others. An extremely capable person, she was always there for friends and family adding her secret ingredient of "Love" to everything she served. She found enjoyment in arts and crafts and singing in her church choir. A woman of service, she was a member of the Duran Volunteer Fire Department, the Sacred Heart Society, and Mount Carmel Society of St. John's Church in Duran, New Mexico. She loved her family and friends deeply, leaving a beautiful legacy of love and service for all to follow. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, auntie, and friend, Inez will be remembered for her genuinely compassionate soul. Services will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Duran on Friday, November 5, 2010. MONTOYA -- Aurelio "Lelo" " Monty" Montoya, 96, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 22, 2010. Mr. Montoya was a native New Mexican, born and raised in Old Town, Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Della "Deluvina" Saiz Montoya; son, Fidel, who died in infancy, his father Fidel Montoya; his mother Sofronia Montoya, all of Old Town; brothers, Fidel Montoya and Cipriano "Pano" Montoya, and his sister, Flossie Cordova. He is survived by his daughter, Fran Phipps and husband Paul; his son, Robbie Montoya; grandchildren, Barry Phipps and Lisa Vencill and husband William; sisters, Rose Zamora and Mela Duran and husband Cleto, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Montoya was a beloved member of the community and will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank Kaseman Hospice for the wonderful care their father received. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at French ~ Lomas chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW, Old Town on Thursday October 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place. DURAN -- Henry Duran passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the age of 87. Henry was a veteran and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Duran; and grandson, Brian. He is survived by his son, LeRoy Metzgar; grandchildren, Lorraine, Richard, Roy, Iris, and Alicia; great-grandchildren, Marisol, Andrea, Kyle, Savanah, Brandon, Lauren, Justin, and Jason; great-grandchild, Damian, his brothers, Joe Lody Duran, Onofre Duran and wife Mary Ann; sister, Teresa Davis; as well as other family and friends who loved and will miss him. CASTILLO -- Jennie Duran Castillo June 4, 1934-October 16, 2008 In memory of my wife of 56 years who went to be with our Lord two years ago.
