Obituary for LUCERO

Inez Lucero, 70, found complete healing from cancer October 30, 2010, and now rests with the Lord Jesus Christ and her son, Dalmacio Lucero. She was born in Duran, New Mexico on January 21, 1940 to Guillermo and Casimira Hijar. She graduated from Encino High School and moved to Albuquerque to work in the Home Care profession. Caring for her parents eventually brought her back to Duran where she resided until becoming terminally ill. She was preceded in death by her parents and only son, Dalmacio. She is survived by her sisters Carmen Larranaga of Anton Chico, Mary Ellen Hijar, Arcelia Jaramillo and Leonor Mendez, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. She devoted her life to caring for others. An extremely capable person, she was always there for friends and family adding her secret ingredient of "Love" to everything she served. She found enjoyment in arts and crafts and singing in her church choir. A woman of service, she was a member of the Duran Volunteer Fire Department, the Sacred Heart Society, and Mount Carmel Society of St. John's Church in Duran, New Mexico. She loved her family and friends deeply, leaving a beautiful legacy of love and service for all to follow. A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, auntie, and friend, Inez will be remembered for her genuinely compassionate soul. Services will be held at St. John's Catholic Church in Duran on Friday, November 5, 2010.
