SKIPPER, JOHN DAVID born April 17, 1939, in Quanah, Texas, went to be with his Lord January 14, 2015. He was orphaned at an early age. He graduated as an electrical engineer from the University of Arizona and took a job supporting the Atlas-Centaur Missile Defense System providing ground support during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He provided design support on the Gemini Manned Space Flight System and worked on airborne surveillance cameras used on SR71 aircraft and other manned aircraft. For several years he designed operational amplifiers and was a contributor to the McGraw-Hill book "Operational Amplifiers." He transitioned back to working on weapons research at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL) where he worked on the Airborne Laser Laboratory and other optical and laser programs. He worked on advanced propulsion in California and the high energy laser program at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). He found the Lord, whom he had forsaken for many years. He was blessed with wife Betty of 39 years; son David (Sheri); daughter Elizabeth (Jacob); granddaughter Sadie; grandson on-the-way Colt; grandsons John and Evan; sister Virginia (Donald); and nephew Matthew (Sarah). The Lord richly blessed his life. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at 10:00AM January 22 at Ridgecrest Christian Church, 5300 Eastern SE. A reception with light refreshments will follow the service.

MIXON, RANDALL was born on October 10, 1960 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Died 1/1/2015 also in Albuquerque, NM. Randall was preceded in death by father Donald Mixon, and brother Wesley Mixon. He is survived by mother Yvonne Padilla of Medford, OR; brothers David Mixon of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Stephen Mixon of Medford, OR, and Douglas Mixon of Gloucester, VA. No services will be held. All arrangements were handled by Riverside Funeral Home.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, all who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Marie McLain; his wife of 37 years, Betty McLain; sister, Fern Campbell; brothers, Sidney, Roger, Kenneth, Donald, and Lloyd and his four-legged companion, Blizzard. Loren is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Lorie and husband Leon; grandsons, Jesse and Kurt; son, Craig and wife Joanna; daughter, Pam; sister, Colleen and husband Peter; sister's-in-law, Lois, Fumiko, Ada, Karen, Alice, Gail, Freda, Thelma, Nona, Carol; brother's-in-law, John, Ralph, Terry, Joe, Ken, Bill, Steve, Charles, Robert, Ray, Miki; father-in-law, Ralph; grandsons, granddaughters; many special nieces and nephews; Ken Miller, who was his "adopted" son and wife Lee Miller. Loren was born in Wisconsin and moved to Albuquerque after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served for 24 years and was awarded a Commendation Medal. He loved camping, gardening and creating with his own hands. He loved his 'adopted' companion, Britches, watching his hummingbirds and feeding his turtles and birds. He has left a huge void in many lives and will be missed and loved by all who knew him. CANDELARIA, MARTHA RUTH (GARCIA) was born on January 26, 1940 & was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. She went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015 after a long illness. Martha attended St. Mary's and went on to obtain her Bachelors' degree from the University of Albuquerque in 1977. She retired from civil service having worked many years for DCAS and VA Hospital. She was a Eucharist Minister at the Newman Center for many years and also assisted in an early reading program with the schools. Martha is survived by her devoted husband Frank (Pancho) Candelaria; sons Donald Johnston and wife Alice, Patrick Johnston and wife Tina, Douglas Johnston and wife Emma, Phillip Johnston and wife Jan, and Isaac Candelaria and wife Sylvia; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Martha is predeceased by parents Florencio (Lencho) and Ruth Garcia and her brother Rueben. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart church at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 10th located at 309 Stover Ave. SW, Albuquerque, NM. Immediately following the services, a reception will be held at the church hall.

TWITTY, ALONZO SR. Alonzo Twitty, Sr., age 85, departed this life at a local hospital on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born February 29, 1929 on the Ward Morn farm in Brazos County, better known as Brazos Bottom located ten miles outside of Bryan and College Station, Texas. In 1970 he organized the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he pastored faithfully for 44 years. He was a member of the National Baptist Conference of America, USA Inc., the Baptist Ministers Union, Ministers Fellowship Alliance, the Progressive Missionary Baptist State Convention of Central Arizona and New Mexico and the Saint Luke District Association. He is survived by his wife Edna Twitty; daughters Vivian Jean, Edna Jewel Whitaker (husband Fredrick), Annie Marie Miller, Sheniqua Shanae, daughter-in-law JoAnn Lackey; sons Alonzo, Jr. (wife Diane), Donald Ray, Sr. (wife Sandra D.), Jeremiah Guy (wife Roberta), Isaiah Matthews, and Brian Moses all of Albuquerque; 68 grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren and now in the fifth generation; grandchildren include, Veronica, Dee Ann, Louis, Adrian, Tasha, Ariel, Jordan, Chrystal, Briana, Jackie, Don Jr, Tiffany, Moniqua (husband Kenneth), Henry (wife Patricia), Jeannette (Jason), Queannette, Apollonia (husband Kharia), Allonnia (husband Marcus), Leanne, Amanda (husband, John Jeff II), Lamar, Jeremiah Jr, Tierre; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 315 53rd St. SW, Albuquerque, NM, followed by a service immediately from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. ANDERSON, DONALD L. (ANDY) Age 84, peacefully passed away December 18, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Du Bois, PA. Andy served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He moved to Albuquerque in 1956 where he raised his family and started his career working for the US Postal Service until he retired in 1985. Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing and building things. It wasn't so much about the activity, but more so to be with family and friends. He loved spending time at the family Ranch in Manzano where he tended to his pet horses. We fashioned him as our Urban Cowboy. He was preceded in death by his father, George and mother, Ruth; brothers, Wes and Ernie Anderson and son, Ernest Otero. Andy leaves behind his loving wife, Mela; brothers, Bill Anderson of Dallas, TX; Ernie (Marlene) Anderson of Anapolis, MD; daughter, Viola Otero-Bennett of Albuquerque, Leve Otero, Charlie (Donna) Otero of Albuquerque.
