 CANDELARIA, MARTHA RUTH (GARCIA) was born on January 26, 1940 & was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. She went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015 after a long illness. Martha attended St. Mary's and went on to obtain her Bachelors' degree from the University of Albuquerque in 1977. She retired from civil service having worked many years for DCAS and VA Hospital. She was a Eucharist Minister at the Newman Center for many years and also assisted in an early reading program with the schools. Martha is survived by her devoted husband Frank (Pancho) Candelaria; sons Donald Johnston and wife Alice, Patrick Johnston and wife Tina, Douglas Johnston and wife Emma, Phillip Johnston and wife Jan, and Isaac Candelaria and wife Sylvia; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Martha is predeceased by parents Florencio (Lencho) and Ruth Garcia and her brother Rueben. Mass will be held at Sacred Heart church at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 10th located at 309 Stover Ave. SW, Albuquerque, NM. Immediately following the services, a reception will be held at the church hall.
