ANDERSON, DONALD L. (ANDY) Age 84, peacefully passed away December 18, 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Du Bois, PA. Andy served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He moved to Albuquerque in 1956 where he raised his family and started his career working for the US Postal Service until he retired in 1985. Andy enjoyed hunting, fishing and building things. It wasn't so much about the activity, but more so to be with family and friends. He loved spending time at the family Ranch in Manzano where he tended to his pet horses. We fashioned him as our Urban Cowboy. He was preceded in death by his father, George and mother, Ruth; brothers, Wes and Ernie Anderson and son, Ernest Otero. Andy leaves behind his loving wife, Mela; brothers, Bill Anderson of Dallas, TX; Ernie (Marlene) Anderson of Anapolis, MD; daughter, Viola Otero-Bennett of Albuquerque, Leve Otero, Charlie (Donna) Otero of Albuquerque. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Aaron, Erica and Sarah Bennett, Leanor (Ferni) Sauri, Jesse (Emily) and Carlos Otero and Katelyn Otero; great-grandchildren, Gentry, Samantha and Leyla Otero; Caridad, Reynaldo and Ernest Sauri and numerous nieces and nephews. ARMSTRONG, MARION JUNE Marion June Armstrong, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died January 4, 2015. She is survived by her spouse, R.L. Armstrong, of Albuquerque; six children; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was a born-again Christian. BAILEY, ANNIE LEE Annie Lee Bailey, 73, passed away on Tuesday in Virginia Beach with her family by her side. Annie was born in McKinney, TX. She spent majority of her life working as a Mortgage Underwriter. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Caine of Virginia Beach, Ivy E. Dennis and Kimberly A. Ausman both of Denver, CO, Cynthia R. Conliffe of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; son, J. David Derby of Denver, CO; mother, Dorothy Landrum; siblings, Curtis Bailey, Jimmie Davis and Dr. Harold Bailey. There will be a scattering of ashes memorial service in Colorado for Annie at a later date.

CAMPBELL, DAYTON AVERY Dayton Avery Campbell was born to April and Rob, a proud young mother and amazing dad, on January 1, 1996. Dayton passed away on January 5, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his parents Rob and April Campbell of Albuquerque; brother Dillon Campbell; grandparents Ken and Karen Campbell; aunt Alberta and uncle Phillip Mortensen; and many cousins and extended family members. He will be embedded in his mother's heart forever. His vibrant smile, care for the world, and deep compassion for others will be deeply missed by his friends and family. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12pm on Saturday, January 10th at St. John's Methodist Church (2626 Arizona ST NE). A light lunch will be provided. This will be an informal gathering to share fun stories and happy memories of Dayton.

CASSINO, FRANCES G. Frances Cassino, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 6, 2015. She is survived by her long-time ranch manager and friend, Ernest Ortiz, his wife, Kim, and their children; long-time friend, Delores Moncayo, Delores' husband, Johnny, and also by her horse, Curley. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; her brother, Anthony Gomes; her parents, Stella and Tony Gomes, and her beloved dog, Rufus. Frances was an educator and received her undergraduate degree from UNM. She went on to obtain her Master's Degree and Ph.D. at the University of California at Berkley. She liked to be known as a "Berkley Girl." She taught Spanish at Albuquerque High School and Monzano High School. Frances also taught at UNM. She had a lifelong love for Morgan horses and took the time to teach her students how to ride. Frances was also active in Town Club at UNM. Rosary will be recited Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Rosary will be led by Delores Moncayo. CLARK, JEREMIAH FURYK Jeremiah Furyk Clark, 41. Born August 17, 1973, died January 1, 2015. Beloved son, father, uncle and friend, he is survived by his son Truman Luv Clark in Florida; his mother, Garuda Ishtarterra from Encinitas, CA; as well as an uncle and cousins from north Texas. Furyk was raised in California and attended the Midland Boarding School in Los Olivos, California, while there, he developed a dynamic, inclusive leadership style, as well as earned the nickname "Zeus" Champion, Leader, Visionary! A remarkably intelligent and worldly fellow with an extremely impressive and passionate artistic talent which included photography, painting, sculpting, stenciling, and found its way into how he loved, communicated, forged new friendships, and lived. The vast circle he drew around his life was captivating and full of admiring people from all over the world. He attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, IA, remains a revered member of the alumni community and will forever be Acquainted with the Delta Phi Rho. After graduation, Furyk moved to the Hamptons on Long Island, NY, working in restaurants and spending his free time lounging at the beach, riding his motorcycle and rubbing elbows with millionaire vacationers. Furyk spent two years in Nairobi, Kenya and established a design firm and industrial art company specializing in large scale corporate art. He had gallery openings and was among the burgeoning art scene in Nairobi. Upon his return, Furyk fell in love with New York City and embraced the many challenges and joys of the vibrant city lifestyle as he made new friends and started a family with the birth of his son, Truman. His final years were spent in Albuquerque among college friends, family, and the New Mexico Brujos Rugby Club, who valued his athletic spirit, fierce competitiveness and his robust advocacy of good times and brotherly camaraderie. Loved by all for his generosity, insight and creative passion; humanity has lost a good soul. COOPER, MARY LOU Age 81, died Thursday, January 1, 2015. She was born, educated and lived most of her life in Albuquerque, NM. Mary Lou and her husband, the late Major Collier T. Cooper, United States Army, lived and traveled throughout the world. Additionally, Mary Lou worked for a number of corporations including Sandia Labs and PNM. She was a loyal and loving friend and aunt to her nieces and nephews. Also remembered are her beloved dogs, Tippy, Kimche, Poncho, and Noel. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. CORTEZ, LITA Lita Cortez, 79, was reunited with her two daughters in heaven on January 1, 2015. She is survived by her husband Richard Cortez; two sons, Mike and wife Martha Cortez, Rick Cortez, daughter in law Tina Cortez; five grandchildren, Noah and wife Marisela, Michelle and fiance Ray, Tabatha, Miranda and husband Ricardo, and Chasity and boyfriend Lawrence; nine great grandchildren, Alexa Rae, Lunati, Kylia, Cesiah, Mikki, Kiyoko, Mia, Uriah, and Chloe; four sisters, Simona, Mary Lou, Linda, and Mary Esther; three brothers, Louie, Edward, and Robert and wife Claudia; as well as a number of nieces and nephews and loving family and friends. Lita was a dedicated parishioner at St. Annes Catholic Church. She served on the alter and rosary committee, and blessed everyone by singing on the church choir. Lita loved her family and enjoyed working in her backyard and playing with her grandchildren. Lita's love was felt by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. DEUBEL, RICHARD J. Age 65, died January 4, 2015 following a brief illness surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Jesse Deubel and wife, Lisa, Rory Deubel and wife, Lindsey, and his daughter Ashlee Deubel; his mother, Martha; grandchildren, Tamara, Nikole, Stephen, Vaden, Drake, Quenten, Avery and Stormy; brother, Christian Deubel and wife, Irene; ex wife, Kathy; his partner, Ellen Coplen; and countless friends and family members including his great grandchildren, Kailub and Kaiden. Richard received his bachelors degree from NM Tech, retired from the NM State Engineers office and then began his own water rights consultation business. He was a passionate outdoorsman enjoying fishing, bow hunting, boating, camping, back packing, mountain climbing and much more. Richard was also a huge blues music fan and rarely missed a blues festival. Richard was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, traveling through Alaska, Mexico, across Canada and to Sturgis. EVERHART, JANICE KAY Age 60, passed away at home on December 15, 2014 after a long illness. Her courage and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her and to those who got to know her over her last years. The daughter of the late William and Virgie Everhart, she is survived by her longtime companion Paul Phelan of Albuquerque; her beloved sons Nicholas W Ferolie and Samuel L Ferolie of Phoenix, AZ; her brother James Everhart and wife Daisy of El Paso, TX; her sister Kim Keiser and husband Rick of Fayston, VT; sister Laurie Everhart & longtime companion Myke Yaple of Albuquerque; as well as all her nieces and nephews. Raised in Albuquerque she was a graduate of Manzano High School. After living in Phoenix for almost 20 years while raising her sons, she returned to Albuquerque a number of years ago. She was independently employed as a medical transcriptionist and more recently had done similar work for the local film industry. A wonderful, devoted mother and an absolutely beautiful woman in so many ways, she will be dearly missed by all of her family and many friends. Those of us who knew her are the fortunate ones. The family wishes to thank Presbyterian Hospice for their wonderful help and support in the recent months. A remembrance celebration will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 7834 Tennyson St NE, 87122 in Albuquerque. Casual attire welcomed. FOX, ROGER D. Our beloved Roger, age 60, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, December 14, 2014 after battling brain cancer for several months. He is survived by his parents, Ron and June Fox of Albuquerque; his sister, Rhonda Fox, of Albuquerque, and numerous other family members and friends. Roger had been a music aficionado since the age of two. He enjoyed creative writing first and foremost in his life, especially after graduating from the University of Albuquerque with a BA in English, and had published a book of poetry. His writings have been included in several anthologies and he has won many awards for his poetry. Roger was a member of Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church. His religious beliefs and church attendance were high priorities to him, as was his church family. FREEDMAN, SYLVIA Our mom, Sylvia Freedman, was born on August 20, 1923. Mom passed away at 5:19 in the afternoon on Friday, December 26, 2014. It was snowing. She was well into her 91st year on this planet. Sylvia was born and raised in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania. Her family moved to New York City when she was a teenager. Sylvia finished her schooling at DeWitt Clinton High School. She met our dad when they both worked at the IRS. They married, raised a family of 3 boys in the Bronx. Over the years Teddy, Mark, Larry, mom and dad moved and resettled in New Mexico. We loved our mom very much! She had many friends and family who loved her as well. She loved her dog PeeWee, as did her whole neighborhood! Mom instilled in us the values that helped us to be better people. Those values will be with us forever. We will miss you mom. You were the greatest. Dad will be glad to have you back. We love you mom! Our mom, Sylvia Freedman, is survived by her three sons, Ted, Mark and Larry; her two grandchildren, Barak and Sahar, (Mark's children); her daughter-in-law Lorraine Palmer (Ted's wife); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. We will all miss mom. The Burial Service will take place on Thursday, January 8th at 10:30am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. FURRY, ROBERT U. Robert U. Furry, 92, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014. Robert was born in Madison, Wisconsin on July 16, 1922. He made his home in Albuquerque, NM, after serving in the 8th Air Force. Robert was a longtime business owner and member of the Optimist Club, Model Railroad Club, & Arabian Horse Association. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Charlotte C. Furry; parents, Merle and Julia Furry; and brother, William Furry. Robert is survived by his goddaughter, Betty Hoover; his god-children, Monica Pino, Michelle Pino, and Aaron Pino; niece, Carolyn Kirby; nephew, David Furry; and the joys of his life, Devin Preston and Myah Pino. GALLEGOS, DAMIAN ZACHARIAH 23 years old, born December 8, 1991 and passed away peacefully on December 26, 2014 at home with his mom and sisters. Damian was born in Albuquerque, NM and graduated from Valley High School in 2010. He was passionate in his love of sports at a very young age. He always had his dad by his side coaching him throughout football, baseball and junior wrestling. Damian worked for the City of Albuquerque and Transportation Co and he planned on getting his CDL license and driving his own big truck. He had a passion for riding his Honda CBR motorcycle which he received as a graduation gift from his dad, Chris Romero. Damian loved his baby "Icon", his beloved German Shepherd with all his heart. He had a love for art, which he expressed in his tatoos, his drawings and his paintings. He loved playing pool, fishing, training his beloved "Icon" to compete in frisbee competitions and loved most of all spending time with his family and all his friends. He was loved by so many and had a special relationship with all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Chris and Geri Romero; his sisters, Michelle, Reese and Sidney; grandparents, Roger and Trudy Gallegos (Pa and Gama) and Viola Hunter; uncles, Joe, (best big brother in the world) Marcel, D.J. and Frank; aunties, Julia (best auntie in the world), Sandy and many cousins. GARCIA, PETE M. Pete M. Garcia, age 80, was born June 29, 1934 in Ledoux, NM and passed away suddenly at his home on January 6, 2015 in Santa Fe, NM. Pete Garcia was a well known and respected businessman. He owned and managed the Sunshine Bar & Gas Station from 1961 to 1998 when he retired, along with several other businesses throughout NM. He was a loving, caring and giving person to everyone he came across. Pete Garcia is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen Garcia; sister Josie Abeyta; brother Augustine Garcia Jr.; children, Louis Garcia and wife Mabel, Dennis Garcia and wife Barbara, Pearl Martinez and husband Ben, Albert Garcia and wife Celina; grandchildren, Crystal Garcia and partner Jeremy, Trish Rudolph and partner Anthony, Tasha Garcia, Tracey Garcia, Pamela Garcia, Louise Garcia, Natalie Rascon and husband Manuel, Corey Garcia, Dennis Garcia Jr. and partner Gabrielle, Audrey Garcia and partner Frankie, Isaac Garcia; and numerous great-grandchildren; along with special friends Ismael Aragon and Everett Baros. GONZALES, ERNEST M. Age 80, a life-long resident of Albuquerque died after a long illness on Sunday, January 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Veronica Gonzales; three children, Michael Gonzales, Barbara Fuller and husband John, and Dorothy Garcia and husband Ted; grandchildren, Adam, Theresa, David, Dominique, Benjamin, Daniel, Ted Jr., and Michael; great- grandchildren, Victoria Rose, Anthony, and Angelo; sister, Inez Gonzales; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Francisca Madrid Gonzales; son, Ernest Martin Gonzales; and sister, Vidala Griego. He was born in 1934 in Albuquerque and graduated from Albuquerque High School. He married the love of his life, Veronica Gallegos in 1954. Ernest had family ties to New Mexico that date back to the Spanish Colonial Period through the Mexican Territorial Period, American Territorial Period and US Statehood. He is a descendant of New Mexico's first European Families which include Captain Juan Gonzales Bas, the first Alcalde mayor of Albuquerque. Ernest was educated as a bookkeeper but worked in sales, working for Galles Chevrolet and retiring from Quality Pontiac. He loved to play the guitar, teaching three of his grandsons how to do the same. Ernest was a born again Christian and played in the church choir at San Ignacio Church. He loved animals, especially his four chihuahuas. Ernest was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends may visit on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. till a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Vicki was preceded in death by her husband Rick; her step-son Joshua; and her grandson Dalton. Vicki is survived by her mother Juanita; her daughter Charmaine; son Rick; step-son Matthew; granddaughter Caitlin; brothers Tom, Ronnie, Brian, Greg, Glenn, and Danny Joe; her sisters Tammy and Lisa. Vicki was a bookkeeper, bartender and a caregiver for her late husband. She was also a loving daughter, mother, sister and a friend to all and she will be missed dearly. Services will be held January 10th at 11 a.m. at Riverside Funeral Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 225 San Mateo Boulevard Northeast.

KIRTLEY, MARIE G. Marie G. Kirtley died at home on 12/30/2014. Born April 21, 1949 in Campbellsport, Wisconsin, she lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico after serving in the United States Navy. Marie was a dedicated Registered Nurse who worked with patients in the hospital, air ambulance, and recently in the classroom. Survivors include William Kirtley; children, Jenna Johnson and Kevin Kirtley; brothers John and Tony Butschlick; grandchildren, Austin and Hannah Johnson, Aiden & Maverick Kirtley; son-in-law Herman Johnson; and daughter-in-law Kari Kirtley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Butschlick. Services will be held at St Michael & All Angels Church at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow at the church. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Albuquerque Animal Humane Society to honor her compassion for animals in need.

Barbara was born on January 20, 1944, in Quincy, MA, and is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Martin; and her sister, Carol Connolly. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Tom Connolly of Simsbury, CT; nephews, TJ Connolly and his partner, Mary Joyce McLaughlin of New York, NY, Bill Connolly of Niantic, CT, Andrew Connolly of Simsbury, CT; and a niece, Maura Connolly Egan and her husband, John of Boston, MA. MCCLEAN, PATRICIA Patricia "Pat" McClean departed this world for Heaven, December 30th after a bout with cancer. She passed peacefully and willingly, knowing she was going to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and previous departed friends welcoming her. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Bob; and four children: Sally Prazeres, Greg McKinsey, Cathy Toffel and Rick McClean, their families; and four grandchildren. Pat also leaves behind many friends who were blessed by her sweet smile and caring ways. She enjoyed fellowshipping with friends, painting with watercolors, gardening, travelling and God's natural beauty in diverse places. Philippians 4:6 was a favorite verse for Pat and Bob "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Hoffmantown Church on Saturday, January 17th at 11 am. MCMASTER, RAY Ray McMaster passed from this life on January 2, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Buffalo, New York. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Pauline McMaster, his parents, Reese and Katherine McMaster, his brother, Robert McMaster, and two beloved daughters, Diane Rae McMaster and Deborah McMaster Kopet. He is survived by two sons Larry and Ray Jr.; his beloved grandson Dennis McCrudden and wife Connie of Alhambra, CA; and his beloved great-granddaughters Abigail and Alyssa McCrudden. He is also survived by so many other special grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in law. He was a resident of Cerritos, California for 45 years where he met his wife Pauline. Ray proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war, in intelligence. He began a civilian career as a Senior Draftsman in Landscape Engineering for the City of Buffalo, NY. After several years, he relocated to Southern California where he continued his career in construction as Senior Estimator and District Manager and eventually formed McMaster Construction until his retirement in 2003. Ray will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank Ambercare and Guided Light for his care. Rosary will be held at 8am with the Mass following at 9am on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin, 9502 4th Street, at the corner of 4th and Alameda.

OWENS, GEORGIE I. Age 85, went to join the Lord in Heaven on January 3, 2015. She was born in Clayton, NM. Georgie was preceded in death by her husband and partner Pastor Jim Owens. She and her husband Jim did as Christ the Savior asked and fed his children through their ministry known as the Streets of Hope. Through their faithful and loving endeavors they fed , clothed, and ministered to thousands over many years who were less fortunate, hungry or spiritually in need. Georgie is survived by children Georgie Gale (G.G.) Porter and Farrell (Sonny) Owens. She was preceded in death by two children, Marvin Arthur and a stillborn baby girl who await her in heaven. TWITTY, ALONZO SR. Alonzo Twitty, Sr., age 85, departed this life at a local hospital on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born February 29, 1929 on the Ward Morn farm in Brazos County, better known as Brazos Bottom located ten miles outside of Bryan and College Station, Texas. In 1970 he organized the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he pastored faithfully for 44 years. He was a member of the National Baptist Conference of America, USA Inc., the Baptist Ministers Union, Ministers Fellowship Alliance, the Progressive Missionary Baptist State Convention of Central Arizona and New Mexico and the Saint Luke District Association. He is survived by his wife Edna Twitty; daughters Vivian Jean, Edna Jewel Whitaker (husband Fredrick), Annie Marie Miller, Sheniqua Shanae, daughter-in-law JoAnn Lackey; sons Alonzo, Jr. (wife Diane), Donald Ray, Sr. (wife Sandra D.), Jeremiah Guy (wife Roberta), Isaiah Matthews, and Brian Moses all of Albuquerque; 68 grand, great-grand and great-great grandchildren and now in the fifth generation; grandchildren include, Veronica, Dee Ann, Louis, Adrian, Tasha, Ariel, Jordan, Chrystal, Briana, Jackie, Don Jr, Tiffany, Moniqua (husband Kenneth), Henry (wife Patricia), Jeannette (Jason), Queannette, Apollonia (husband Kharia), Allonnia (husband Marcus), Leanne, Amanda (husband, John Jeff II), Lamar, Jeremiah Jr, Tierre; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
