MCLAIN, LOREN G. MSGT Age 79, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. Loren lived with emphysema and severe COPD for 15 years but tried to get the best out of life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many, all who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Marie McLain; his wife of 37 years, Betty McLain; sister, Fern Campbell; brothers, Sidney, Roger, Kenneth, Donald, and Lloyd and his four-legged companion, Blizzard. Loren is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Lorie and husband Leon; grandsons, Jesse and Kurt; son, Craig and wife Joanna; daughter, Pam; sister, Colleen and husband Peter; sister's-in-law, Lois, Fumiko, Ada, Karen, Alice, Gail, Freda, Thelma, Nona, Carol; brother's-in-law, John, Ralph, Terry, Joe, Ken, Bill, Steve, Charles, Robert, Ray, Miki; father-in-law, Ralph; grandsons, granddaughters; many special nieces and nephews; Ken Miller, who was his "adopted" son and wife Lee Miller. Loren was born in Wisconsin and moved to Albuquerque after retiring from the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served for 24 years and was awarded a Commendation Medal. He loved camping, gardening and creating with his own hands. He loved his 'adopted' companion, Britches, watching his hummingbirds and feeding his turtles and birds. He has left a huge void in many lives and will be missed and loved by all who knew him.
