JOHNSON, GEORGE GILBERT Age 84, was born on May 24, 1930 to George Gilbert and Blanche Johnson in Frankfort, MI. He died peacefully on March 7, 2015 surrounded by loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, the love of his life for 59 years. He knew her since she was nine months old. He is also survived by his daughters, Cindy and husband Terry Hatcher, Angela and husband Roger Johnson, and Denise and husband John Benson; son, George Eric Johnson; grandchildren, Terriann Hatcher and partner Crystal, Amber and husband Chris Daniels and Brittany Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Cohen and Aislynn Daniels; many cousins; and brother-in-law, Paul Sandman; sister-in-law, Cindy Sandman; niece, Jenny; nephew, Jeff; and great-nieces, Olivia and Ava. He was preceded in death by their first son, Dane Gilbert Johnson; and parents, Blanche and Gilbert Johnson. George loved photography, camping, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. He and Sharon loved dancing. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale, Pace, caregiver Luella, Presbyterian Hospital and Pastor James Tsoodle. George graduated from Ludington High School in Michigan and attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. He served in the Army and then attended Northwestern MI College in Traverse City, MI and graduated on June 10, 1955. He then married Sharon Elizabeth Thurber at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 11, 1955 by Pastor J.C. Johnson who also married George's parents and Sharon's parents. The family moved to Albuquerque and he took the position as assistant administrator controller at St. Joseph's Hospital in 1977, and then he accepted a position at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX as vice president of finances. From there, he returned to Albuquerque to accept a position as director of special accounting at Presbyterian Hospital where he retired in 1988. George was a member of H.F.M.A. and President from 1970-1972, the National Association of Accountants Board of Directors, and was on the board of directors of the Exchange Club. He was also a member of the policy making board of St. Francis Gardens, Chairman of Title 19 NM Medical Care Advisory Committee, Chairman of NM Hospital Association, and a member of Sisters of Charity. He served on insurance committees including investment for retirement fund financial directors committee and he served on Matrix of the National Board of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He received three merit awards for outstanding service from the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the Follmer, Reeves and Muncie Awards. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. SAIZ, MAX G. Max G. Saiz born December 28, 1940 from Manzano, NM to Magalina Turrietta and Vicente Saiz. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather departed his life on Monday, March 2, 2015 at UNM Hospital. He was preceded in death by his daughter Rita and son Wecee Saiz; parents Magalina and Vicente Saiz; brother Joe Saiz; mother-in-law Jackie Gabaldon; brother and sister- in-law Elane and Ralph Gabaldon, Jr. and nephew Jaycob Gabaldon. Max worked as a Mason for many years. His hobbies included fishing, caring for his garden and selling fire wood; he was loved by everyone who knew him. Max is survived by wife of 53 years, Gloria Gabaldon-Saiz; children Denise and Gilbert Cabrera, Linda Saiz and Max Saiz, Jr.; grandchildren Alice and Chris Castaneda, Amanda Saiz, Lil Gilbert Cabrera, Ryian Saiz and Lorenzo Poggio; great-grandchildren Damon, Christopher, Izaiaha, Joziah, Audrey and Nathaniel. GARCIA, RONALD LEE Born on February 19, 1959 and called to serve in Gods Army on February 26, 2015. He served in the United States Army for 28 years and has coached baseball, football and helped with various events at Moriarty-Edgewood School District for 15 years. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Lana (Country) Garcia; daughters Alana and husband Noel, and Jerrica; sons Eric and Isiah; parents John and Corina Garcia; siblings Linda and Cipriano Griego, John and Martie Garcia, Tommy and Sheila Garcia, Sandra and Mike Dile, Anthony and Cindy Garcia, Gilbert and Barbara Garcia, Ricky and Claudia Garcia, Brenda and Kenny Garcia; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He will be welcomed in Heaven by his grandparents Juan and Transita Salazar. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at noon at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Cemetery in Puerta de Luna, New Mexico. There will be food and drinks served to follow the services, across the street at Nuestra Senora de Refugio Catholic Church. There will also be a bonfire that evening at the Garcia house in Stanley. His pallbearers are his sons Eric and Isiah, and his son-in-law Noel. His honorary pallbearers are his uncles, brothers, brothers-in-law, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, men he coached, and his military co-workers and friends.

NAJAR, SOFIA Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015. She was a devout Catholic, God before everything else, she lived for her family, and was ready with loving arms for all that came by. She will be greatly missed. Sofia was preceded in death by her husband Ernest A. Najar and sons Ernest A. Najar Jr. and Gary W. Najar. CORNELL, DUDLEY (LEE) EMERSON IV Dudley (Lee) Emerson Cornell, IV, age 61, passed on suddenly and peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, D.E. (Skip) Cornell, III; his brother, Christopher George Cornell; and his partner, Gilbert Baca. He is survived by his mother, Joan Anderson Cornell; his sister, Jill Elizabeth Cornell; and his brother, Craig Arthur Cornell and his family: wife Ava Cornell and their children, Kori McGael Anaya and her husband Florian Anaya and their children Jadon McGael and Esmae Nevaeh Anaya, Kamden Samuel Cornell, Skyler Emerson Cornell, and Chenoa Arthur Cornell, all of Albuquerque, NM. Lee attended the Albuquerque Academy and Manzano High School. He also attended the University of NM and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in University Studies as a returning student at the age of 48 with a concentration In Mathematics. Lee started his working career as a professional dancer. He danced at the Stardust and MGM Grand Hotels in Las Vegas, NV and was one of six dancers with Bobbie Gentry for about six years. From there he went into writing workshops for trainees at the Bank of America in San Francisco. Also, while in San Francisco, Lee completed the EST Training developed by Werner Erhard that brought to the forefront the ideas of transformation, personal responsibility, accountability and possibility. He later volunteered at the EST Headquarters in San Francisco for several years. Lee returned to his hometown of Albuquerque in the late 1980's and served on many healthcare committees including with NMAS (New Mexico Aids Services) and Aligning Forces for Quality which focus on improving health and healthcare in communities across New Mexico. Lee was also very involved in AA and NA groups for many years, often volunteering and chairing meetings. Lee was an accomplished cook and had perfected his own secret recipe for the best chocolate chip oatmeal cookies ever. He was also an avid reader and gardener. He gave of himself generously over the past seven years being his mother's live-in care taker following her successful recovery from a stroke and a bout with cancer. Lee returned to his hometown of Albuquerque in the late 1980's and served on many healthcare committees including with NMAS (New Mexico Aids Services) and Aligning Forces for Quality which focus on improving health and healthcare in communities across New Mexico. Lee was also very involved in AA and NA groups for many years, often volunteering and chairing meetings. Lee was an accomplished cook and had perfected his own secret recipe for the best chocolate chip oatmeal cookies ever. He was also an avid reader and gardener. He gave of himself generously over the past seven years being his mother's live-in care taker following her successful recovery from a stroke and a bout with cancer. CORNELL, DUDLEY (LEE) EMERSON IV Dudley (Lee) Emerson Cornell, IV, age 61, passed on suddenly and peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, D.E. (Skip) Cornell, III; his brother, Christopher George Cornell; and his partner, Gilbert Baca. He is survived by his mother, Joan Anderson Cornell; his sister, Jill Elizabeth Cornell; and his brother, Craig Arthur Cornell and his family: wife Ava Cornell and their children, Kori McGael Anaya and her husband Florian Anaya and their children Jadon McGael and Esmae Nevaeh Anaya, Kamden Samuel Cornell, Skyler Emerson Cornell, and Chenoa Arthur Cornell, all of Albuquerque, NM. Lee attended the Albuquerque Academy and Manzano High School. He also attended the University of NM and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in University Studies as a returning student at the age of 48 with a concentration In Mathematics. Lee started his working career as a professional dancer. He danced at the Stardust and MGM Grand Hotels in Las Vegas, NV and was one of six dancers with Bobbie Gentry for about six years. From there he went into writing workshops for trainees at the Bank of America in San Francisco. GALLEGOS, JUAN B. Juan B. Gallegos, 89, a resident of Clayton, NM passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. He is survived by his brother, Gilbert Gallegos of Albuquerque and sister, Dominga Renden of Calgary, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
