SANGRE, EMMA MARIE 1924-2015 Emma Marie Sangre, 90, born July 20, 1924, passed on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at her home in Isleta Pueblo with her loving family by her side and is now in heaven with our Lord and is reunited with her loving husband, Jose Alcario Sangre who passed in April 2003. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Rosendo and Elcelsa Jaramillo Saavedra; brothers, Ramon, Ernesto, Nester, Alejandro, Joe, and Puseno Saavedra; sisters, Antonia Pea, Condrada Gomez and Juanita Cordova. Emma is survived by her daughters, Anna Cuaron, Evangeline Sangre, Gloria Gibson and husband, Archie; sons, Anthony and Phillip Sangre; step-daughter, Frances Mirabal; 18 grandchildren; 27 (soon to be 28) great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to send a heartfelt "Thank You" to Presbyterian Home Care and Presbyterian Hospice for providing high quality care for Emma during her final days. All services will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church at Isleta Pueblo, New Mexico on Friday, March 6th beginning with a public viewing at 9:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose De Armijo Cemetery. PADILLA, ANDY JOSEPH age 67, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Mr. Padilla is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Rosa; children, Christopher Lopez, Renee Padilla, Martinique Padilla; his mother, Charlotte Olguin; brothers, Bernie Salazar, Emiliano Olguin Jr.; sisters, Virginia Viapando, Mary Ellen Ruiz, Cynthia Archibeque, Yolanda Olguin, Janine Garcia; aunts, Julia Cordova, Margaret Begay, Angie Benavidez; sister-in-law, Maria Garcia and husband, Emilio; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. CHAVEZ, ORLANDO age 60, was born October 17, 1954 and went to be with Our Lord on February 18, 2015. Orlando was the son of Perfecto and Candie Chavez. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Chavez. MUNOZ, MARY ELLEN Age 61, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to John and Susie Vargas on June 2, 1953. Mary Ellen is survived by her parents, John and Susie Vargas of Albuquerque, NM; husband, Jim Munoz of Carlsbad, NM; sister, Linda Cordova and husband, Arthur; daughters, Anna Munoz and husband, Karlos Sachs of Arlington, VA, Christina Munoz and husband, Brian Barnes of Albuquerque, NM; her granddaughter, Zion who was her pride and joy in life; niece, Sonia Cordova; nephew, Juan Cordova and wife, Consuelo; grandnieces, Natalia Cordova and Catalina Cordova. Mary Ellen was an amazing woman, a loving daughter and wife, an extraordinary mother and grandmother, and a dedicated friend and teacher. Mary Ellen married the love of her life, Jim Munoz on August 25, 1973 and in the fall of 1979, they and their two daughters, moved from Albuquerque to Carlsbad. Shortly thereafter, Mary began teaching with the Head Start Program where she spent 18 years as an early childhood education specialist. Upon leaving Head Start, she soon realized that she wasn't ready to retire and accepted a position as a teaching assistant with the Jefferson Montessori Academy, where she has worked with elementary school students for the last 12 years. Mary Ellen had an immense love for her family, friends, students and life as a whole. She could always be counted on to provide a hand, a smile, a listening ear and words of encouragement or comfort to those around her. Although her life centered around her family, she was also known for her love of Elvis, the Yankees, trips to Ruidoso, and nights out with her girlfriends. She will be greatly missed but her influence and memory will undoubtedly live on in the many lives she has touched throughout the years. MORALES, CORINA Age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Life, Wednesday, February 4, 2015. She was lifelong resident of La Jara, NM; and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. Corina is survived by her loving children, David and wife Shirley, Clarence and wife Fabiola, Wilfred, Elmer and wife Diane, Norma and husband Roger, Anthony and wife Linda; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers-in-law, Emilio Cordova, Jacquin and Martin Morales; sister-in-law, Elosia Gutierrez; and many other loving relatives and friends. Corina will be missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. APODACA, MAX MICHAEL SR. Max Apodaca Sr. born on September 27, 1947 to Ignacio and Annie Apodaca. Max passed away Sunday, February 1, 2015. He is survived by his wife Marian; two sons Max and wife Joyce, and Martine. He is survived by his grandchildren Rueben and Savannah. He has five siblings, Agnes, Geraldine and Lizzy. CORDOVA, ALFREDO E. Alfredo Elezar Cordova, 90, of Logan, NM went home to be with his Lord Sunday, February 1, 2015. Alfredo, a World War II Veteran was 18-years-old when he served in the U.S. Marine Corp (Pvt 1st Class) as an artillery gun crewman (1943). He was assigned to Camp Pendleton for boot camp, then Pearl Harbor before being deployed to combat. He served in the 4th Marine Division. The 4th Marine Division was formally activated in 1943 and deactivated 1945. His combat deployment included the Battle of Iwo Jima. Born April 4, 1924 in Logan, NM, Alfredo, together with his wife raised six sons, one daughter and a special niece-daughter in Logan, NM. He was the son of Juan and Saraita Cordova of Logan, NM. He was married in 1959 and survived by his wife Emma Cordova. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in the company of friends and family in Logan in 2009. Alfredo enjoyed playing his guitar and the harmonica and spending time with his children. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a member of the American Legion. Alfredo was a proud veteran, and retired from Rock Island Railroad. He was preceded in the death by one son, Manual Cordova. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Arthur and wife Evelyn Cordova; Angie Cordova, Jose and his wife Ida Cordova; Ted and his wife Evelyn Cordova; Ernest Cordova; John Cordova and his wife Dora Dominguez; Christina Whitfield. He is also survived by one sister, Marce and her husband Teve Quintana. Known for playing guitar and singing with friends; memories of our Dad and his song will be long remembered. With the decline of his health, events to play his guitar became fewer and fewer. Though all his music playing friends left this earth before him; our hearts are comforted in knowing they're all reunited now in the music and songs of the heavens. He is survived by 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral pallbearers will include grandchildren: Orlando, Tiana, Armando, Christopher, Gabe and Alfredo. Honorary pallbearers include grandchildren; Andrea, Angelo, Alysia, Carlo, Monica, Nina, Steven, Virginia and great grandchildren along with dear family members, Richard Morales and Lorinda Bowers Rosary services on Friday, February 6th at 6p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Logan, NM. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church with interment with military honors to follow at The Logan Cemetery. Funeral home arrangements are being handled by Dunn Funeral Home, Tucumcari, NM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association New Mexico Chapter.
