AKER -- MARGARET CORA Age 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, passed away October 17, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Marlin F. Aker; her son Marlin Aker, Jr. and his, wife Joyce, of Albuquerque; Larry Aker and his wife, Hazel of Poway, Calif.; and Susan Eubank and her husband, Danny of San Marcos Calif. The family includes six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Margaret and Marlin were married on June 7, 1936 in Lordsburg, NM and, with the well wishes of their many wonderful friends and family, had recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Margaret was a member of the Netherwood Park Congregation of the Church of Christ and her faith and family were the central elements of her long, happy and productive life. Her gentle charm and wit were with her to the end of her days and were a joy to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. ESPINOSA -- VIVIAN Z. Age 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 21, 2011. Ms. Espinosa was born on February 3, 1925 to Adolfo and Ramona (Valdez) Zamora of Abo, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Espinosa. HAGEMEIER -- WAYNE REVEREND Passed into heaven on Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was born in Dalhart, Texas October 19, 1916 To John W. and Elva Merle Hagemeier. He was the second of twelve children. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings; his loving wife of sixty-six years, Eva. He is survived by his sister, Lois Duke; brother, Kenneth Hagemeier (and wife Ruth); sister-in-law, Alta Hatton; sons, Warren Hagemeier (and wife Kathleen) and Garren Hagemeier (and wife Connie); nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who love and will miss him. Beginning at age seventeen, Reverend Hagemeier preached the gospel for 65 years. He was founding pastor of Northside Church of the Nazarene in Albuquerque, New Mexico (now part of Heights First Church of the Nazarene). He pastored Nazarene Churches in Capitan, New Mexico, Portales, New Mexico, Buhl, Idaho, Weiser, Idaho, Connell, Washington and Spokane, Washington and served as an evangelist and supply pastor at various churches across the country. Memorial services for Wayne will be held at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo del Norte, NE, Albuquerque, NM, Saturday October 29, at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque, NM immediately following the memorial service. MAHONEY -- NEIL Age 46, left the earth on October 22, 2011 in Albuquerque NM. He was a long time resident of Albuquerque, leaving only to serve in the US Army 82nd Airborne during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Neil was born in Pierre, SD to Mike Mahoney of Casper, WY and Julie Claymore of Albuquerque, NM. Neil is survived by his namesake grandmother also Neil Mahoney; his brothers Kyle Claymore and Michael; sister Melisa; a host of the Mahoney clan; daughters Cassie and Skye; grandmother Beulah; uncles Daryl and Ron; cousins Nathan and Andrea Williams; one grandson "Ziggy". Neil was a graduate of Sandia High School in Albuquerque where he played soccer, YAFL and coached a woman's football team. He left for military service with the 82nd airborne in January of 1988 and was honorably discharged in May of 1991. As a paratrooper he was awarded the Army Service Ribbon Parachute Badge and National Defense Service Medal and M16 expert. He returned to Albuquerque,NM and worked as an auto mechanic for 20 years most recently with Brooks Auto with his long time friend Richard Brooks. Neil was the past president of the NM Airborne Association and enjoyed all things military, especially his "Band of Brothers" He retired from work this past year with the help of the Veterans Administration. Neil has been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism since 1995 as a heavy weapons fighter. He enjoyed the privilege of being a Stags Blood and a part of the Bengal Brotherhood. His best friend and confidante was Pugsley, who misses his "Dada" but knows he is well and happy in the next world. (Pugsley is a Chinese-pug) A skilled model maker, gamer, avid hunter, sometimes artist and poet. Neil had a ready laugh and could also provoke a laugh with an impromptu stand up comedy routine, anywhere, anytime. MARTINEZ -- MARGARET GAILLOUR Was born February 21, 1929, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 23, 2011, after her long battle with MS. Margaret was born in Vaughn, NM and lived in Las Vegas, NM until 1961 when the family moved to Albuquerque. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband David Martinez and her daughters Cynthia Kozlowski, Irene Montoya and her husband Don, Julie Martinez, Juanita Kilijanski and her husband Mark, and Elizabeth Martinez. Margaret leaves behind her grandchildren Katherine Schafer and her husband Brad, David John Martinez and his wife Dacia, Stephen Kozlowski, Stephen Edmiston and his wife Tanya, Daniel Martinez and his wife Michelle, Valerie Kozlowski, Aliesia McCoy and her husband Brian, Andres Montoya and his wife Sarah, and Amanda Martinez. Her loving family also includes eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Margaret was the fifth child in a family of eight and leaves behind her siblings Marie Galindre, John Gaillour and Anne Rogers. Margaret was a devout Catholic and a woman of strong faith. Sunday, she was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents John and Louisa Gaillour; her sisters Lucy and Emily; and her brothers Reynald and Michael. Margaret was well-known for her outstanding work in the service industry due to an amazing work ethic, charasmatic personality, meticulous dress and her flaming red hair. However, she will mostly be remembered because she lived for her family. After being diagnosed at the age of 37 with MS, she never stopped overcoming her limitations to attend every big event that occurred over the years from weddings, births, graduations and even some the funerals of her family and friends. MCKINNEY -- MICHAEL R. Our much loved husband, father and friend, age 54, died Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born on August 18, 1957 to the late Vincent and Harriet McKinney, in Queens, New York. Though Mr. McKinney has lived in the Rio Rancho area since 1982, his heart will forever remain in Queens. He was a hardworking man who owned his own HVAC company, Rio Air. His interests included spending time at the beach, electronics, and was a cigar afficianado. He shared breakfast with his faithful friend, Annie, his beloved dog, every morning. On occasion, Annie would sit on the breakfast table to share the meal, but only if Trish was not around! Besides Annie, he also loved his three other dogs and his three chickens whom he affectionately called "The Girls." Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. McKinney is survived by wife, Patricia A. "Trish" McKinney of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sons, Jason McKinney and Michael McKinney, both of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; stepsons, Patrick Huff of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christopher Huff of Longmont, Colorado, and Jonathan Huff, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; bothers, Thomas McKinney and his wife, Barbara, and Robert McKinney and his wife, Mary, of California; and many beloved friends. The most precious of friends, Smitty, Distler, Denap, Lisa, Mikey, and Stone Face, will forever remain a part of who Michael was. Friendships that began in Copake Falls, New York and has lasted a lifetime. Stone Face a.k.a. "Kenny" was the best friend a man could hope for and was greatly loved by Michael. OLSON -- MARGARET ELLEN Margaret was born October 18, 1942 in Wayne MI, the daughter of Leonard and Alice Nielsen. As the daughter of a military officer, Margaret lived all over the world as a child, kindling a lifelong passion for diverse cultures. She graduated from Classical High School, Springfield MA and conducted her B.A. work in philosophy at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and at the University of New Mexico, where she completed the B.A. with honors and an M.S in computer science. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Christopher Olson; son, Erlend and wife, Jana and their children, Jarred, Jacob, Jadon and Jordan of Newport Coast, CA; son, Birken and wife, Kelly and their children, Annika and Kjirsta of Frisco, TX; son, Garth and wife, Heidi and their children, Gabriel, Ethan, and Aubrey of Albuquerque; and daughter, Erika Campos and husband, Glenn and their children, Elliana and Gavin of Santa Fe. She is also survived by her brothers, Milton of Austin, TX and Marshall of Colorado Springs, CO. In her 17 years at Sandia National Labs, as a manager in the Robotics Center, she helped pioneer a Post-Cold War era collaboration with Russian scientists to develop affordable prosthetics for child and adult victims of land mines under the Nuclear Cities Initiative. After Sandia, she spent the past eight years as a member of Wycliffe Bible Translators leading strategic planning and managing Bible translation projects. She worked tirelessly to develop new Bible translation projects led by indigenous people. She was a compelling advocate for the proposition that every people group, no matter how small, should have the Bible in their own language. Margaret was a member of New Covenant Church, where she served as a missions leader and a discussion leader of small group Bible studies. She always recalled with great fondness the friends she made during her seven years as a discussion leader for Women's Bible Study Fellowship and as an instructor for the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course. Her most contented times were in raising a family and enjoying the outdoors as a hiker, a bird watcher, a photographer, and a participant in bicycle touring. She had a special affection for the people of West Africa, a calling to reach out to Muslim women, and a deep motherly love for street children and those orphaned by AIDS. She was a hands-on participant in a ministry to the street children of Meru, Kenya. Her heart was always open to those in need, and her energy was unceasing to reach the lost. She put others before herself throughout her exceptional life, and she will be greatly missed. Margaret passed out of our arms and into the arms of her Savior Jesus on Sunday evening, October 23, 2011. Her family wishes to thank the staff of the New Mexico Cancer Center and of the Anna Kaseman Hospice Unit for their caring attention to her needs during her final illness. RAMIREZ -- SALOMON Age 56, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his family ranch in Rociada, NM. Salomon, a resident of Santa Fe was born on September 27, 1955 in Las Vegas, NM. He attended high school at Robertson and graduated from NMSU where he achieved a degree in Agriculture. He was recently appointed by President Barack Obama as the State Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency of the US Department of Agriculture. Ramirez was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Aggies. He loved spending weekends in Rociada at his family's ranch and was passionate about helping farmers and ranchers in New Mexico. He was a generous friend who never asked what he could do to help; he simply did what needed to be done. He was preceded in death by his father Salomon S. Ramirez and his niece Angie Armijo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Rosalie Ramirez; his daughter, Amanda Chavez and her husband Cedric; his pride and joy granddaughter, Elena; his son, Ryan Ramirez; his mother, Angie Ramirez; sisters, Mary Ann Ortiz (Juan), Elizabeth Betty Armijo (Paul); brothers, Gilbert Ramirez (Katie), Sammy Ramirez (Brenda); his father and mother-in-law, Henry M. TANUZ -- TOBY L. January 16, 1942 - October 22, 2011 Toby went with our Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Toby is survived by his wife, Barbara of 48 years; his daughters, Ramona and husband, Mark J. Carrillo, Yvonne and husband, Dennis Trujillo; his grandchildren, Rudy Vigil and Crystal, Gene and Sophia Trujillo; brothers, ED Tanuz, Arthur Tanuz and wife, Sally; sister, Toodie Holstrum; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Toby was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Maclovia Tanuz; brothers, Leno Tanuz-Bustos and Bill Coca. Toby was a member of the Sons of The American Legion Post 13, and the The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge.Toby lived life to the fullest.
