MCKINNEY -- MICHAEL R. Our much loved husband, father and friend, age 54, died Monday, October 24, 2011. He was born on August 18, 1957 to the late Vincent and Harriet McKinney, in Queens, New York. Though Mr. McKinney has lived in the Rio Rancho area since 1982, his heart will forever remain in Queens. He was a hardworking man who owned his own HVAC company, Rio Air. His interests included spending time at the beach, electronics, and was a cigar afficianado. He shared breakfast with his faithful friend, Annie, his beloved dog, every morning. On occasion, Annie would sit on the breakfast table to share the meal, but only if Trish was not around! Besides Annie, he also loved his three other dogs and his three chickens whom he affectionately called "The Girls." Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. McKinney is survived by wife, Patricia A. "Trish" McKinney of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sons, Jason McKinney and Michael McKinney, both of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; stepsons, Patrick Huff of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christopher Huff of Longmont, Colorado, and Jonathan Huff, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; bothers, Thomas McKinney and his wife, Barbara, and Robert McKinney and his wife, Mary, of California; and many beloved friends. The most precious of friends, Smitty, Distler, Denap, Lisa, Mikey, and Stone Face, will forever remain a part of who Michael was. Friendships that began in Copake Falls, New York and has lasted a lifetime. Stone Face a.k.a. "Kenny" was the best friend a man could hope for and was greatly loved by Michael.
