BORDER -- Ruth Mildred Border, 78, passed away November 3, 2010 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Gildford, Montana October 16, 1932. She is survived by her husband, John (Bud) Border; children Steve and wife Kim, Don, Dean and Valerie Border; and grandchildren Lauren and Bethany Villarreal, Jarred and Brittany Border and Michael and Lindsey Border. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. BRANDENBURG -- Jo Ann Brandenburg, age 69, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 5, 2010. Jo Ann was born in West Virginia, raised in Kentucky, and was a resident of Albuquerque for thirty years. She was strikingly beautiful, artistically talented, and in true Southern fashion, kind, generous, and unfailingly polite. Through her art, her stitchery, and her gardening she made her family's world more beautiful. Jo Ann will be deeply missed by her family, her dear and caring friends at Share Your Care, and her loyal, loving cat, Oreo. BUELL -- Katherine Morbella Spates Buell, 83, died on November 5, 2010. Katherine is survived by her children, Donna Smith, Janice DeLorenzo and husband, Donald, Nancy Clatanoff, James Spates and wife, Barbara, Jacqueline Jayne and husband, Michael, Cynthia Gilbert and husband, Don; grandchildren, Tonya Strange, Andrea Jones, Sarah (Katie) DeLorenzo, Stephen Spates, Ryan Spates, Christin Carey, Jill Rodriguez, Jeremy Spates, Loren Jayne, Heather McKnight, Kimberly Rushing, Travis Gilbert, and Brett Gilbert and 11 great-grandchildren; and step-children, Reed Buell and wife Barbara, Linn Buell and wife Laurie; step-grandchildren, Tamara Nichelson, Brent Buell, Taryn Lower, Courtney Custer, Chelsea Layman, Lindsey Groft, and Allison Popa, and 11 step- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Waldo Seckman Spates, her second husband, Harold Chapin Buell, her son, Waldo Seckman Spates, Jr., her sisters, Josephine Morbella and Mary Leeper; and brother, John Morbella. Katherine lived and worked in New Mexico from 1951 and retired from American Bank of Commerce in 1983. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Katherine loved her life and lived it to its fullest each day. She loved her family, her many, many dear friends, Lobo basketball, the casino, an occasional margarita, and a good piece of chocolate. A celebration of Katherine's life will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona N.E., with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Scott worked at Intel Corp., Phillips Semiconductor, and was currently employed by Sandia National Laboratory where he was a Electronics Technician for nine years. GARCIA -- Mary F. Garcia age 85, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. She courageously endured 16 years of dialysis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eulalio and Juanita Cordova, four sisters, Dolores, Josie, Helen and Frances. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Leo, who cherished her every day for the last 60 years. She is also survived by her devoted children, George (Connie), David (Tina) and Rebecca (Richard); seven grandchildren, Ricky, David Jr., Elizabeth, George Jr., Steven, Rochelle and Nichole; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Brianna; three sisters, Flora (Albert), Candy (Pepe), Lucy, and two brothers, Toby and Nestor (Doris); and many nieces and nephews. Mary worked at Simons Department Store downtown for many years until she married her husband, Leo Garcia, who owned El Modelo Factory. Together they worked until retirement. Mary loved to plant gardens full of melons, vegetables and green chili. She took pride in making beautiful Red Chili Ristras. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a faithful servant for 60 years. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Pallbearers will be David Garcia Jr., George Garcia Jr., Steven Chavez, Marty Chavez, Raymond Chavez, and Dominic Otero. HAGAN -- Eunice Josephine "Jody" Hagan, 75, beloved, wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma, passed away October 30, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William; her children, Randy Hagan and Troyce, Jolene Sandell and Jim, Kathy Pdilla and Tim; her grandchildren Courtney Hagan, Trevor Sandell and Roxie, Patricia Padilla, Thomas Hagan, Joanna DePalma and Phillip, Melissa Padilla, Sam Sandell, Sarah Sandell; and soon to be four great-grandchildren, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Jody was born in Grand Junction, Colorado and grew up in San Bernardino, California. She moved to New Mexico in 1965 and has been in New Mexico ever since. HOUSE -- Jeanne C. House, 88, beloved wife, mother grandmother and sister went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2010. She was preceded in death by her son, Sandy Taylor and husband, Jim House. She is survived by her son Steve Taylor and wife Brigitte; daughter-in-law Nancy Skaale-Taylor; stepson Gary House and wife Linda sister Bette Dunnett; grandson Kevin Taylor; granddaughter Dana McGuire and husband Gary; and great-grandchildren: Erin McGuire, Gavin McGuire and Kaydan Taylor. JONES -- Howard David Jones, 88, died suddenly Friday, October 29, 2010 at his home. He was born June 22, 1922 in Utica, NY, a son of David R. and Mildred A. Jones. He served in the US Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He graduated with the first class from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1949. He married Jane E. Stringer, June 25, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. He was an elder at Olivet Presbyterian Church of Utica, NY. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, retired from the payroll department of The Public Service Company of New Mexico since 1986. He was a loving, generous, and nurturing husband and father. Survivors include his two daughters, Linda L. Petty and husband, Michael of Las Vegas, NV and Deborah J. Jones of Albuquerque, NM; two granddaughters; one grandson; siblings, Eleanor Siegenthaler and Robert Jones, both of Ormond Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Ella Gould and husband, Grier B. of Casa Grande, AZ; a niece; and several nephews. JORDAN -- VIRGINIA ADAIR JORDAN Born April 21, 1924, passed away November 2, 2010 at her home. She was the great-granddaughter of Martin and Refugio Amador, a pioneering family of Las Cruces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline Garcia and William Adair of Las Cruces; three sisters: May Carniglia, Margaret Dennemeyer, Rose Tooker; and is survived by a brother, Bill Adair (Joanna) of Tucson, AZ. Virginia Jordan graduated from UNM in 1951. She taught school in Santa Fe in the Federal Bilingual Headstart Program. Virginia participated in American Association of University Women, ABC Garden Club, City Different Retired Educators and was a volunteer Cub Scout Troop Den Mother. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Virginia is survived by her husband, William Oscar Jordan. Their children are Steve (Frances), Judy (Wayne Robbie), Jennie (Dave Austin), Mark (Sue), Beth (Jose Oms), and Tim (Adriana). Virginia and Oscar had eleven grandchildren. Virginia and Oscar would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on the 23rd of this month. KEMPER -- Eileen W. Kemper, 96, of Albuquerque passed away on November 3, 2010. She was born October 21, 1914, to John J. and Olga Stubsten Weiss, in Lennox, South Dakota. She was a life long learner. She attended the Lennox schools and completed the two year course at Sioux Falls College. She later received a BA in Education from the University of Arizona and a MS in Education from New Mexico Western University, in Silver City, NM. She also attended the University of Nebraska, Eastern New Mexico University, and did much post graduate work at UNM. While in Arizona she worked for several years as a secretary. She was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Ft. Bayard as secretary to the Hospital Director. Eileen taught special education in Albuquerque Public Schools until retirement. She had many interests and talents. She had worked with the AAUW and Red Cross. Interests included travel, archeology and photography, and she had written articles published in the New Mexico Magazine. She loved art and music. She won many awards for her violin music and played with a symphony orchestra. Eileen had resided at La Vida Llena retirement center for 22 years. While there, she worked on many committees and volunteered to help those who were less able. She will be remembered at a Memorial service at La Vida Llena in December 2010. Cremation has taken place. MILLER -- Mary Rosalie Noto-Miller, age 83, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 3, 2010. In 1981, Mary moved to Albuquerque, NM to be close to her children. She spent the next eleven years working in sales for her son and daughter's jewelry businesses at an outlet in the Coronado Mall. Mary retired in 1992 and began volunteering for St. Joseph's Catholic Hospital, serving in the gift shop and as a Eucharistic Minister. Mary's greatest passions were her family and her volunteer work which were an expression of her love for the Lord. She is survived by daughter, Monica Miller-Ruhl and her husband Bill; son, Kurt Miller; sister, Theresa "Toots"; and numerous other family members and friends around the country. SAGE -- Scott Taylor: "Uncle Scotty", lost his year long battle with cancer on October 30, 2010. Scott was born March 31, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas to Robert Henry Sage and Loyce Wood and was raised in Albuquerque where he resided until 1971 when he married Kristin Schilling. Scott and Kris moved to Bosque Farms in 1972. Scott spent much of his younger life at Speedway Park and Albuquerque Raceway or under the hood of #34 getting ready for a race, in later years he switched from racing to collecting antique cars and tractors. Both of Scott's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kristin Sage, of the family home; son, Tracy Sage; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren; a brother Woodrow L. Sage (Carol) of Albuquerque; a sister Beth Chiapetti (Frank) of Gallup; and several nieces and nephews. Scott was "Uncle Scotty" to not only his immediate family but to cousins, neighbors, and anyone that knew him. He was a master mechanic who could repair any vehicle (he preferred it not be a Chevy). He retired from ABF as a truck driver in 2004. Scott loved to tell stories and you can be sure the angels are gathered around him listening to one of his stories right now. The world has lost a very special man and heaven has received a very special angel. Scott touched the lives of many people and his love was unconditional. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

SHEPPEARD -- Ron Sheppeard died suddenly October 29, 2010. He was 60 years old. Born in Kansas and a Vietnam-era veteran, Ron had been in New Mexico since 1985. As husband, friend, wise counselor, inventor and impresario, Ron was a loving, creative, dynamic force. His commitment to helping addicts find a new way of life drove 32 years of service locally and around the world. An ongoing spiritual quest brought him to Sikh Dharma and later the Tetzkatlipokha tradition. His vampire fang business made him a legend in the costume world. Most recently, Ron was director of Outpatient Addiction Services at Rehoboth-McKinley Behavioral Health in Gallup, NM. Preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie, Ron is survived by Mary Hari Sheppeard and an extended family, of blood and of choice, which he loved very dearly. SILVA -- Eva Romero Silva, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died in her sleep after a long illness on Monday, November 1, 2010, at the age of 88. Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Manuel Silva of San Rafael, NM; her parents, Adan and Elsie Romero; and her sister, Dora Tabet. Eva Silva is survived by her five children, Martha Woesch (her husband, Rick Woesch), Dave Silva (his wife, Marge Siska), William Silva (his wife, Vicki Geiger Silva), Gini Silva (her husband, Brad Zeikus) and Tish Silva (her partner, Nils Hochhausler). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; Valerie Silva, Craig Erdman, Kelly Zeikus, Emily Siska, Josef Woesch, Sarah Woesch, Grace Crownover, Peter Zeikus, Jessica Zeikus, Tony Woesch, Anne-Camille Collins, Kam Silva and Jennifer Zeikus; three great-grandchildren, Madeline, Kenzie-Lynn and Cortland Collins; and her siblings, Adam Romero, Lyrie Torres, and Bob Romero. Eva grew up in Belen, NM where she graduated from Belen High School. During her lifetime, Eva and her husband traveled the world. She retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1987. Sylvia Muniz, with Caregivers to the Rescue, and Annie Pratt, with Heritage Home Healthcare, provided comfort and care to Eva and her family during her last days. STROME -- Richard "Dick" Kenneth Strome, aged 90, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his residence in Albuquerque of complications due to an infection. Thank you to all of the caregivers who did their best to make his past few months comfortable. Dick was born February 11, 1920 in Albuquerque at Presbyterian Hospital to Gertrude and Roy Strome. He spent his childhood, which mirrored the "Little Rascals," in Albuquerque with his younger brother Thomas. Dick was a 1936 graduate of Albuquerque High School. He attended UNM and graduated from the Chicago American Academy of Art in 1940. Near the end of his studies in Chicago, he met a beautiful brunette "pool shark" named Elaine Radic, whom he later married in 1944. Dick served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He continued his studies after the war, and was employed in the advertising field. In 1949, the family moved back to Albuquerque where he worked as a technical artist for Sandia Corporation. Dick was an honored employee of Sandia National Laboratories for 30 years and retired in 1980. His talent for art was pursued both at work and at home. Examples ranged from oil portraits to a large snow sculpture of Lincoln's head inspired by a five dollar bill and a two foot deep snow storm in the 1950's. Dick and Elaine traveled the world together and he continued his world travels after Elaine's death in 1995. Dick became a Roman Catholic in 1975 and his beautiful portrait of Christ was given freely to many people around the world. Dick is survived by his sons, Richard Strome, Jr. and wife, Paula, Chris Strome and wife, Ana, and daughter, Laurie Moodie and husband, Steve; and his two grandchildren, Derek and Kelley, as well as his brother, Tom Strome and wife, Barbara. Dick Strome was a man who was a loyal son, brother, husband, father and friend. Dick lived a lucky life and knew it. He never shirked a task and lived up to his responsibilities with honor. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday, November 6, 2010.
