Obituary for SAGE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 07, 2010

Scott Taylor: "Uncle Scotty", lost his year long battle with cancer on October 30, 2010. Scott was born March 31, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas to Robert Henry Sage and Loyce Wood and was raised in Albuquerque where he resided until 1971 when he married Kristin Schilling. Scott and Kris moved to Bosque Farms in 1972. Scott spent much of his younger life at Speedway Park and Albuquerque Raceway or under the hood of #34 getting ready for a race, in later years he switched from racing to collecting antique cars and tractors. Both of Scott's parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kristin Sage, of the family home; son, Tracy Sage; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren; a brother Woodrow L. Sage (Carol) of Albuquerque; a sister Beth Chiapetti (Frank) of Gallup; and several nieces and nephews. Scott was "Uncle Scotty" to not only his immediate family but to cousins, neighbors, and anyone that knew him. He was a master mechanic who could repair any vehicle (he preferred it not be a Chevy). He retired from ABF as a truck driver in 2004. Scott loved to tell stories and you can be sure the angels are gathered around him listening to one of his stories right now. The world has lost a very special man and heaven has received a very special angel. Scott touched the lives of many people and his love was unconditional. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
