Howard David Jones, 88, died suddenly Friday, October 29, 2010 at his home. He was born June 22, 1922 in Utica, NY, a son of David R. and Mildred A. Jones. He served in the US Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He graduated with the first class from Utica College of Syracuse University in 1949. He married Jane E. Stringer, June 25, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. He was an elder at Olivet Presbyterian Church of Utica, NY. He has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, retired from the payroll department of The Public Service Company of New Mexico since 1986. He was a loving, generous, and nurturing husband and father. Survivors include his two daughters, Linda L. Petty and husband, Michael of Las Vegas, NV and Deborah J. Jones of Albuquerque, NM; two granddaughters; one grandson; siblings, Eleanor Siegenthaler and Robert Jones, both of Ormond Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Ella Gould and husband, Grier B. of Casa Grande, AZ; a niece; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane E.; and his sister, Mildred. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date.
