BARNES -- Marian Frances Barnes, 91, of Moriarty, NM peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Marian was born on October 15, 1918 in McIntosh, NM to George and Margaret Ellen (Adams) Davis. Marian was a lifetime resident of Moriarty. She married Harold Barnes in McIntosh, NM on May 1, 1949. She was a member of the Moriarty Church of Christ and treasurer of the Moriarty Senior Center. She was a retired public school teacher and case worker of the welfare department. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Davis; her husband of forty two years, Harold Barnes; son, Earl Barnes and sister, Lois Larson. She is survived by her sons, Howard Barnes and his wife Sherry of Moriarty, NM, George Barnes and his wife, Pattee of Temple, TX, Richard Barnes and his wife Sandra of Moriarty, NM and Gary Barnes of Moriarty, NM; brother, Frank Davis of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. There will be a viewing on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM. BASHORE -- Carla Molley-Ann Bashore loving wife, mother, sister, cousin and friend passed away on June 23, 2010. She was born in New York City in 1945 to Eugenia Maria Armijo Maas ("Mama" Jean) and Tjebbe Wilem Maas. Her parents preceded her in death. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where her father was in business and where her mother became employed with the American Embassy. She began her early education at the Escola Americana in Rio de Janeiro, later attended the British School of Teresopolis, and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rio. While in Brazil, she became an accomplished equestrian and continued that interest well into adulthood. Upon completing high school, she moved to Switzerland where she attended finishing school and then lived in Paris where she pursued her education and became a model for many years. On her many summer visits to visit with her maternal grandparents in Las Vegas, NM, the late Judge Luis E. Armijo and Eugenia Delgado Armijo, she attended summer classes at Highlands University. Carla was fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, French, German an her father's first language, Dutch. Upon returning from abroad, she resided in Alexandria, Virginia, where she worked for many years, putting to use her great talent for languages in that great cosmopolitan area of our country. Shortly after their marriage, she and Frank settled in Albuquerque and in 1982, she joined the staff of Dr. Julianne Lockwood, director of forensics in a program affiliated with the UNM Department of Psychiatry. She continued to work in the mental health area for many years and joined Dr. William Ulwelling as a member of his staff. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Colonel (Ret. US Army) Frank Bashore; children, Amy Bashore Canzoneri, George Bashore, Carrie Bashore Donovan, Hank Bashore and Frank Bashore; sister, Henriette Maas; and many cousins and first cousins for each of whom she held a special place in her heart, M. Christina Armijo, Roberto Armijo, Patricia Armijo Vigil, Luis Armijo, Francesca Armijo, Anita Armijo Naranjo, Adea Armijo, Jeannie Blattman, Thomas Armijo, Steven Armijo, Paul Armijo, John Armijo and Linda Blattman. She is survived by her special friends each of whose company she adored and who loved her, Rita Montoya, Juanita Huie, Julianne and Thomas Lockwood, Patsy Wolf, Vicky Koehler, Eva and Laszlo Gyongyosi, Lynn Martin and Elizabeth Castello and her friend, Michelle. her loving husband, Frank considered her to be the greatest chef, bar none and she was! Carla loved her dogs, especially her Irish Setter, " Bonnie". She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who survive her. Family and friends wish to express their very special and heartfelt appreciation to the chaplain and nurses at Heartland Hospice and to the nurses and staff of the Albuquerque Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and dignified compassion exhibited by each of them. BREWSTER -- Carolyn Mayhon Brewster, 60, of Calimesa, California passed away at her home on June 11, 2010 of cancer. Carolyn was a former resident of Albuquerque, a graduate of Highland High School and a past employee of U.N.M. she was working for the University of Relands, in California. She was preceded in death by her father, David Mayhon. She is survived by her mother, Betty Mayhon of Calinesa; a sister Donna Mayhon Ortiz and husband Gale of Alamogordo; two nieces, Kim Jarrett of Grants Pass, Oregon and Michele Barlow of Phelan, California; and three great-nieces; and one nephew. CORLEY -- John Phillip Corley, 64, of Sandia Park, New Mexico died Monday, July 5,2010 at 11:30 p.m. in his home in Sandia Park. Born October 9, 1945 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was raised in Belen, New Mexico. He was retired from Sandia National Labs. He is survived by his wife, Carol Corley of Sandia Park, NM; and his four children, Christine Corino of Vacaville, CA, Michelle Caldwell of Antelope, CA, Emily Corley of Pacifica, CA and Johnathan Corley of Virginia Beach, VA. DANIEL -- Dean Howard Daniel, a true caballero, passed on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. He was born in Childress, Texas, on November 18, 1923, and had an especially strong and resourceful character that developed from his youthful experiences during the Great Depression. As an adult he attended Eastern New Mexico University, but his studies were interrupted by World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater, where he bravely preceded the landing craft, sounding the depths to assure that they would not run aground prematurely. Following his honorable discharge, he was elated to marry his college sweetheart, Maxiena Earnest, and they spent 56 happy years together. He brought the family to Albuquerque in 1947 to accept a job maintaining steam locomotives for the Santa Fe Railroad. With the introduction of diesel engines these skills were no longer needed, so he began a career as a newspaper pressman at the Albuquerque Journal-Tribune. Later he helped print the San Francisco Chronicle and the Wall Street Journal, in the bay area, and the Salt Lake Tribune in Salt Lake City, Utah. He moved to Portales, New Mexico after retirement, and then spent several enjoyable years in Amarillo, Texas with his second wife, Neva. He returned to Albuquerque in 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Zeana Peck and Merideth Paxton; son-in-law, Alan Paxton; two grandchildren, Codi McKinley (and her husband, David) and Corey Carlos; and six great-grandchildren, Hazin and Irin McKinley and Courtney, Tristin, Jade, and Bodey Carlos. He also leaves Kay Rabinowitz, a dear friend. He was preceded in death by Maxiena and Neva; his parents, James and Eula; brothers, James and Clifton; and a daughter, Lynette. ENRIQUEZ -- Mary Enriquez, 71, a resident of Belen passed away on July 7, 2010. Mrs. Enriquez is survived by her husband, Eduardo Enriquez; her children, Ramona Padilla, Steve Sanchez and wife, Roberta, and Yolanda Rodriguez and husband, George; her sister, Trini Jojola; her brothers, Ramon Sisneros, Pete Sisneros, and Luis Sisneros; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Enriquez was preceded in death by the father of her children, Valentine Sanchez; her daughter, Marcella Sanchez; her parents, Lupe and Fred Sisneros; and her brother, Bolaiz Sisneros. Mrs. Enriquez was a member of the Catholic Church. GARCIA -- Louella Roybal Garcia We lost the most beautiful person in the world on June 25, 2010. Born in Los Angeles, California on May 17, 1931 passed away from complications with six different forms of cancer. Raised in Pecos, New Mexico she was predeceased by her parents Manuel and Eloisa; husband Jose Trinidad; brother Manuel; daughter Judy; and grandson David, Jr. With great sadness, she leaves behind brothers, Reuben (Inez), Ralph, Michael (Debbie); and sister Louise Martinez; Her six children are left behind as well 17 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren. We will miss her more than anything in this world. A rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at Holy Ghost Church 833 Arizona SE, Albuquerque, on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 10.30 a.m. Interment will follow in Santa Fe alongside her husband. HENDRY -- Carl Hendry, 84, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010. He had been married to Gladys Simond Hendry 27 years and just couldn't live without his "rock and anchor". Disheartened after her death on June 6, 2010, his willpower and courage failed. Carl was born July 16, 1925 in Hazel Park, MI, son of George and Racheal A. McLure Hendry. He was an active, charter member of Sandia Presbyterian Church. JORGENSEN -- Justin Dane Jorgensen, 21, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on June 24, 2010 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 24, 1989 in Flagstaff, AZ.. He is survived by parents, Jeff and Tonya Griego; brothers, Jared and Jacob; his favorite aunt Shanna Jorgensen and uncle Bob Hoffman; aunt Carol Griego, grandmother Rita Griego, all of Albuquerque. His great-grandmother Betty Jorgensen of Portland, TX; grandparents Tom and Ruth Jorgensen, of Ft. Worth, TX; uncle Tom and aunt Pam Jorgensen, Centreville, VA; uncle Tom and Aunt Lisa Griego, Placitas, NM; uncle Anthony and aunt Rebecca Griego, Fountain, CO; uncle Bennie Griego, Oakland, CA; Justin also left behind a loving and caring girlfriend, Caitlin Overturf, Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carol Jorgensen of Bellville, TX; grandfather, Celestino Griego; and uncle George Griego both of Albuquerque. He also left behind numerous cousins and friends in the Albuquerque area. Justin enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding and rock climbing. He was a bright young man with a promising future. He recently attended the Arms of Love Fellowship in Rio Rancho and his parents know that he had made his peace with God. They are comforted that he is no longer in any pain. JUSTUS -- Richard Milton Justus was born on July 2, 1932 in Clarinda, Iowa and passed away in San Antonio, TX on Friday, July 2, 2010. Dick worked in Civil Service for 33 years retiring in 1987. Dick returned to Albuquerque for his love of ballooning, collecting Southwestern art, and volunteering for professional and civic organizations. He moved back to San Antonio in 2009. He is survived by a sister, Nancy Thomas; four children, Peggy Rogstad and husband Andy, Karen Manuel and husband Mark, Joanna Hines, and Tom Justus; four grandchildren, Katie and Leah Rogstad, Brandon Hines,Korey Manuel; and his constant furry companion Noche. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Hester Justus; and his wife of 39 years, Venita Justus. A memorial service will be held at Madison Square Presbyterian Church 319 Camden St., San Antonio, TX on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held immediately following the service. LEACH -- Wallace A. Leach, 86, of Gallup, NM, died peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on June 24, 2010. Wally was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A native of New Mexico, he was born in Clovis June 9, 1924. He graduated from Portales High School and attended Eastern New Mexico College. He reached the rank of Master Sergeant in the Army during WWII. He was a former rancher and farmer in the Clovis area as well as a pressman and Linotype operator at the Portales Daily News and the Clovis News Journal. He was a resident of Gallup for 55 years. He is a former owner and publisher of the Gallup Independent, business manager for the Farmington Daily Times, and shop foreman for the Tucumcari Daily News. He began his career in the newspaper business in high school. He owned and operated Gallup Printing and Office Supply for 46 years. He is also the former owner of Gallup Saddle Shop. Wally was a former District Governor for the Lions Club and former President of the Gallup Lions Club. He was President of the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Association, the Gallup-McKinley County Chamber of Commerce, and the Gallup Yeis. He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge, the New Mexico Press Association and New Mexico Newspapers Association. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Babe; his parents, John and Mary Leach; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Jessie; his son Terry Leach and wife Onorina of Albuquerque; his daughter Jan Smith of Gallup; stepchildren, Joel Quinones of Gallup and Linda DeSpain of Joseph City Arizona; granddaughters, Jessica Byrd, Tisha Smith and Ashley Leach of Albuquerque, Kyndee Keeler, LaNee' Dayton and Alisha Smith of Gallup; nine great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; his brother Earnest Leach; his sister Mary Blakely; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on July 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1800 Red Rock Drive, in Gallup. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McMahon, Bob Olive, Scott Richards, Kiki Alonso, Joel Quinones, Jay DeSpain, Ben Lewis, and Bill Lewis. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. LESTER -- Helen Lester, 78, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Marie Beem and husband Kevin and their son, Kevin Bryan Beem all of Albuquerque; sister, Barbara Jennings and brother, Carl Centers. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Harry Lester. MARTINO -- Michael Martino, D.C., age 46, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010. Michael was born on August 28, 1963 in Westmoreland County, PA and was a resident in Albuquerque, NM. Michael was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Engineering as well as a graduate of the National College of Chiropractic in Lormbard, IL. He was the owner of Martino Chiropractic Offices in Bernalillo, NM. Michael was an avid fitness enthusiast and enjoyed all types of sports. He was a Certified Sports Trainer and volunteered at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado. Michael is survived by his loving mother, Mary Dolinar Martino of Asheville, NC; his father, Vincent Martino and wife Patricia of Jeanette, PA; his sister, Paula Martino and husband Robert Clementi; nieces Marina and Natalie Clementi; and nephew, Leo Clementi all of North Huntingdon, PA. He was loved by aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and patients. Michael will be greatly missed by his loving family and those whose hearts he touched. He is survived by his four children, Marina Ibarra, Arielle Mills, Alima Jimenez, and Andrew Mills (the children of Alma Miera); and his four grandchildren, Nicasio, Blaise, Theoni, and Katriel; he is also survived by his father Easton Mills; his sister Jan C de Baca; his niece Alicia Sharpe; and nephew Chris C de Baca. We all loved and cared for him with all our hearts. Craig was a very talented musician and a passionate collector of guitars and other musical instruments. He spent much of his free time playing music with friends and recording songs. He was also a fine wood craftsman and left behind many beautiful objects that he created by hand. He had a free and peaceful heart with fascination and love for all things spiritual and mysterious. After spending his earlier life in Albuquerque, Craig lived in Columbus, Ohio for twenty years and worked as a craftsman and project manager at Michael Matrka, Inc. for over fifteen years. He returned to Albuquerque in 2007 to be closer to his family. His ashes will be placed in a family niche during a ceremony at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107 at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010 followed by a memorial service and family gathering at the home of Easton Mills in Albuquerque at 12:30.

MONTOYA -- Loyola Montoya, loving mother and grandmother, born February 26, 1926 in Rancho De Taos, New Mexico to Fidel and Elvira Torres, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at her home. She is survived by her children, Carlos Montoya and wife Dolores, Victor Montoya and wife Carolyn, Michaela Montoya, Loretta Robledo and husband Miguel, and Adrian Montoya and fiancee, Rita Felter; grandchildren, Stephanie, Rachel, Alejandro, Gabriel and wife, Jessica, Andres, Veronica, Michael, Adrian, Lucas and Alana; great-grandson, Alex, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. O'CALLAGHAN -- Teresa O'Callaghan was born on February 16, 1964 and died July 5, 2010 after a courageous battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Teresa loved her family, gardening, art and all things bright and beautiful. Most of all, she loved her husband of ten years, Steven; and her daughters Clare O'Callaghan and Katie MacDonald; her parents Dean and Ruth Eversmeyer; her siblings: Bruce Eversmeyer and wife Candice, Laura Wood and husband Benny, Deanne Eversmeyer, John Eversmeyer and wife Doris, Mari Parker and husband Marc, and Gregory Eversmeyer; her parents-in-law Arline and Phillip O'Callaghan; sister-in-law Melanie O'Callaghan; and many nieces and nephews. ORTWINE -- Robert Gorrell Ortwine died at his home in Albuquerque in late June following a brief illness. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 12, 1950 and was the son of Robert H. and Betty S. Ortwine, both deceased. He is survived by a brother, Bruce A. Ortwine, of New York City. Robert ("Bob") was a graduate of Syracuse University, receiving a B.A. in 1972, the University of Alabama, receiving an M.A. in 1975 and Georgetown University, where he received another M.A. in 2002. He worked in the insurance industry for fifteen years, with jobs in Chatham and Highland Park, NJ, Rochester, NY and San Antonio, TX. In 1990, he changed careers and joined the Peace Corps, where he focused on economic development in Eastern Surope, living in Poland for four years. More recently, he lived in Alexandria and Virginia Beach, VA, before moving to Albuquerque several years ago. Since 2005, Bob was a tutor at the Central New Mexico Community College, teaching both GED and English as a Second Language, and where he initiated an "International Topics" program that brought together a culturally diverse student body and otherwise established himself as a hard working and reliable employee. Bob was a member of the Central United Methodist Church of Albuquerque. He was an avid golfer and a lover of literature and libraries, as well as theatre, classical music and opera, including the Santa Fe Opera. OTERO -- Lucy Otero - The rock of the Otero family passed away. Lucy Otero, 88, died July 1, 2010. She was born in Tajique, New Mexico January 29, 1922 and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1997. Lucy was a graduate of Estancia High School. Lucy had an IQ equivalent of a Ph.D. in wisdom. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her beloved husband brother Victoriano and Lucy were so giving and generous their casa was your casa and you never left hungry or you left with a bag of goodies. The treasure in Lucy heart was being a nanny to her beloved small children and babies she took care of. She believed in Jesus Christ our God, and her favorite saying was Santo Nino De Atocha. Lucy had three daughters, Ceclia, Kathy and Anna Marie; a favorite granddaughter Felicia; sisters, Fefa, Carman, Rachel and Senaida; her beloved brother Amadeo and wife Patricia, Magdaleno, Victor, Joe and Mike Jr.; many nephews and nieces. Lucy was buried with her beloved husband brother Victoriano at Tome Cemetery in Peralta, New Mexico. She will be greatly missed by her beloved brother Amadeo and wife Patricia, family and friends.

QUINTANA -- Willie Quintana, 55, was born in Tucumcari, NM on February 2, 1955; raised in San Francisco and a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010. Willie loved to go camping, hunting, fishing, sculpting, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family. Willie was a great father and enjoyed the challenges of building and repairing inside or outside the house. He loved his job at Tingley Coliseum and was an avid 49ers fan. Willie was very friendly, thoughtful, funny and was a compassionate and caring person. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cheryl; two children, Guillermo and Semona Quintana; siblings, Lizzy Quintana-Lamperti, Ronald Quintana, Donald Quintana, Yvonne Quintana, Leopold Quintana; and all of the Vigil in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Quintana; and his mother, Erma Ortiz Quintana. Rosary will be recited Thursday, July 8, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at French - University Chapel. ROBERTS -- Charlotte E. Roberts, age 52, beloved mother, daughter and sister, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 7, 2010. She was born in Tucumcari, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur G Martin; and a brother Howard Martin. Charlotte is survived by her loving daughter, Jennifer Crawford and husband Jacob; her mother, Rebecca C. ROMERO -- Issac D. Romero, 28, also known as "Fresh" passed away unexpectedly on July 5, 2010. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 27, 1982. Issac enjoyed music and was a member of the NVUS entertainment; he was also a member of the Brown Berets. Issac is preceded in death by his father David Jaramillo; son Joseph; and grandfather Roger Romero. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Patricia Duran; girlfriend Vanessa and children; sisters, Manndy Quintana and boyfriend Orlando and Dora Pino; nieces, Melody and Onnica; nephews, Johnny and Exavior; uncles, Art and Joshua Romero; aunt Maryrose; his Nana Mary and grandma Inez Jaramillo.
