ARAGON -- Joyce M. Aragon, a resident of Albuquerque, born to Carpio and Ernestine Chavez on January 24, 1935 and passed away on October 17 2009. She is survived by her husband Roger Aragon; her mother Ernestine Chavez; sister Viola Aragon and husband Raymond; special loving cousin Roxanne McIntyre and extended family. She was preceded in death by son Roger E. Aragon; sister Vivian Trout; father Carpio M. Chavez. A very special thank you to Presbyterian Hospice and all the hospice personnel who were of great comfort for her in her last days. And thank you Tami you became her friend (nurse). AYALA -- Estella V. Ayala, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 17, 2009. She is survived by husband for over 48 years Simon L. Ayala; sons: Adam Libario, and Joseph Ayala; daughers: Mary Jane Jacquez and husband Pedro, Beatrice Sanchez and husband Raymond, and Sally Arellano and husband Freddie; brother Manuel Vargas; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a strong woman of faith, rich in Christ her Savior, with whom she put her life and soul in his trust. She offered lots of love, mercy, and guidance to all her family. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all. She is now rejoicing with all her loved one's who preceded her in death. CONNOLLY -- Ann Marie Connolly, a teacher to many and a servant to all, was born in Queens, New York to Cornelius and Frances Hayes on October 25, 1938. She passed away October 19, 2009. She was a devoted mother of Lisa Allison, Coleen Samuelson and son-in-law David, Neil Alessio and daughter-in-law Lisa; and a loving grandmother to Erin Allison and Trey Buttlemann, Sean Allison and Phoebe Saltzstein, Hannah Samuelson, and Seamas Alessio. Ann was also a loyal sister of Denis, Rev. Neil, William, Patrick, and Gene. Ann regularly attended the Aquinas Newman Center and passionately shared her faith with those around her. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Road NE, 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 24, 2009, and there will be a Celebration of Life immediately following the mass at the church. COOPER -- John J. "Jack" Cooper, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Cooper was born on December 12, 1938 in Greenville, PA. He served in the US Navy and retired from GE Aircraft in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three sons, Eric J. (Gayla) Cooper of Sarah, MS, Dale Feaser of Squim, WA, and Edward J. (Renee) Lofland, of Ft. Wayne, IN; six daughters, Tamera (John) Mizzell, and Lori J. Boester, both of Ft. Wayne, IN, Diane Feaser and Donna Feaser, both of Squim, WA, Kristina (Sean) Corrigan of Kalispell, MT, and Anita Weaver of Seffner, FL; a stepson, Robert Boyington, of Lockport, IL; a stepdaughter Kimberly (Cory) Underwood of Albuquerque, NM; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. GRINE -- Frances Isabel Giron Grine was born June 27, 1928 in Barney, NM, to Manuelita and Frank Giron. She passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in Albuquerque. Frances was a former resident of Cuervo, NM, but spent her final years in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Jose S. Grine; children, JoAnn Lovato, Joe Grine, Archie Grine and wife, Norma, Richard Grine, Maryann Fernandez and husband, Carlos, Phyllis Grine-Chavez and husband, Bruce, Olympia Sanchez and husband, Mark, Julian Grine, and Suzi Grine-Jones and husband, Eric; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several extended family members. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Manuelita and Frank Giron; her brothers, Archie, Henry and Eloy; her sister, Helen Grine; and granddaughter, Andrea Lovato, (daughter of JoAnn Lovato). JINZO -- Joann Jinzo, 57, born October 21, 1951, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2009. MANKIN -- Mable Ellen Mankin. "I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day..." ( 2 Timothy 4:6-8 ) On October 17, 2009, Mable Ellen Mankin completed her race and went to be with our Lord and Savior. One of nine children, Mable was born November 20, 1926 in Dekalb, Illinois to Otha B. and Esther Ellsworth Bone. She has lived in Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Manitoba, and has spent the last twenty-two years as a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Judith Marlene; five infant children; grandson Richard Stashek, and son-in-law David Hammitt. Mable is survived by her husband, Wendell Mankin; her daughters, Barbara Ann Parker of Prince George, BC, Mary Ellen Rogers and her husband, Bruce, of Waddell, AZ, and Teresa Jean Hammitt of Los Lunas, NM; her son Andrew George Parker and his wife, Holly, of Afton, WY; stepchildren, Richard Mankin and his wife, Tina, of Gainsville, FL, Patricia Gunderson and her husband, Gene, of Arden Hills, MN, Joan Pearson and her husband Dan of Edgewood, NM, Dale Mankin and his wife Denise of El Paso, TX, and Ted Mankin and his wife Vangie of Lakeland, FL; twenty seven grandchildren and step - grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and her many brothers and sisters from Albuquerque Revival Church. Mable was a spunky, outgoing woman who never met a stranger. She faced many challenges in her life and always stated they made her stronger and gave her character. MARTINEZ -- Elizabeth R. "Betsy" Martinez, age 83 of Chimayo, NM. died on October 17, 2009. She relished life to the fullest, with a special fondness for living in Chimayo. She served as the church organist at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo for most of her life. She served the Espanola valley community by humbly educating its children for her entire adult life at Espanola Valley High School. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben O. Martinez; her son Isaac "Ikie" Martinez; and her parents Isaac and Ramona Romero. She is survived by her sons Robert and Ronald Martinez; daughter Vivian Frietze; and friend Marlene Montoya; and brothers Ed, Isaac, and Randy Romero. Betsy was blessed with seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. MCWRIGHT -- Frank W. "Mac" McWright, Born, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 15, 2009. He was born October 7, 1915 to William and Martha McWright. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and attended the John Marshall School of Law. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippine Islands in WWII. He married Catherine Callaly in St. Paul, on March 26, 1938. They had four children. He was employed by the Post Office Dept. first as a Railway Mail Clerk and later was promoted to the position of Postal Inspector. In 1971 after serving 34 years with the Postal Dept. and as a Federal Agent, he retired. He and his wife bought an Air Stream trailer and traveled the United States for a number of years. After living in the Florida Keys, Grand Junction, Colorado and Loveland, Colorado, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1993 and lived in the Taylor Ranch area. He was known for his smile, humor and storytelling. He is survived by his daughters Catherine McWright Barton of Grand Junction, Colorado; Patricia (Ed) Burggraf of Auburn, Washington; and son Michael (Suzy) McWright of Deer Lodge, Montana. Grandfather of Eric Kribbs, Yvonne (Patton) Escobosa, E.J. Burggraf, Shana (Burggraf) Rosa and Dylan McWright, great grandfather of Chad Kribbs, Luke Kribbs, Katelyn Kribbs, Lawrence Saunders, Dalton Escobosa, and Giulia Rosa and great, great grandfather of Kaylee, Peyton, Darrin, Julianna Kribbs and Trenton Lewis. MEADOR -- Ethel F. Meador, 90, died October 16, 2009 in her home. She was born February 2, 1919 in Dryden, Texas. Her father was a rancher, railroader and had several Texas ranger, great-grandparents. Upon her graduation from high school, she married William Meador, a soldier stationed at Dryden Airfield, changing her life drastically. After WWII they were transferred to Sandia Base in 1946. Subsequently being transferred to various other bases, she returned to Albuquerque in 1955. In 1964 moved to Bosque Farms where she lived the last 45 years. Ethel was preceded in death by her husband William in 1980. Ethel is survived by her two sons, William and Lynn Meador, their wives, Connie and Sherri and grandchildren Jared, Courtney, Robert and Christine. Courtney's husband is Robert Ray, and Christine's husband is Randy Rappleyea. Ethel has six great grandchildren. She had one brother, five sisters, all who preceded her in death. One surviving niece Vima Jo Rainer of Long Beach, California, and one surviving nephew, Breg Davis of Alpine, Texas. Several other nieces and nephews that names are unavailable to mention here. Ethel will be buried next to her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Albuquerque. Her close family and friends celebrated her life at a private memorial service.

MONTANO -- Petra Baca Montano, 84, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her sons, Patrick and wife, Bernadette, David and wife, Mary; honorary daughter, Angie Dafoe; grandchildren, Matthew, Damian, Adam and Elizabeth.; great-grandchildren Josh, Maddie, Marinus, and Genevieve; brothers, Eloy, Paul, Theodore and Louis; sisters, Tome, Beatrice, and Margie; and numerous relatives and friends. Petra was preceded in death by her parents, Eufracio and Florencia; husband, Gabriel; sisters, Flora and Lucy. She was an avid runner and finished 3rd in cycling at the National Senior Olympics in 1992. Petra will be missed by all who knew and loved her. NIELSON -- Jean "Petie" Nielson, 86, went to dance with the angels on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Waiting for her were her parents, Goldie and Bert Swope; and sisters, June and Ruth. OLIVERA -- Antionette Marie Olivera, beloved daughter of Dottie and Arthur Olivera, beloved mother of Ashley Rachelle Olivera-Russell, Hannah Lynn and Shelby Ann Olivera passed away suddenly on October 17, 2009. She was a long time employee with United Blood Services beginning as a donor technologist and ultimately being promoted to Donor Care Supervisor. ORTIZ -- Vicenta Ortiz, of Santa Fe, passed away October 18, 2009 in Santa Fe at age 99. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Ciriaco in 2002. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who has now joined Ciriaco and her beloved Savior. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phenia Reynolds; son, Todd Reynolds and his wife Barbara of Belen and their two daughters, Mariena and Courtnie; and son, Waylon Reynolds and his wife Annette of Jarales and their three children, Talon, Autumn, and Ashlyn; two aunts; one uncle; and many nieces and nephews. Kyle was a member of the Socorro Bass Club, New Mexico Trappers Association, and BASS. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE. ROMERO -- Sarah Romero, age 73 was born June 19, 1936 and passed away October 15, 2009. She went to join her family and friends and will dwell in the house of the Lord. Sarah was loved by many and was a good daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She lived her life helping all in need. SANCHEZ -- Sotero J. Sanchez, Jr. passed away on October 19, 2009 at the age of 88. Sotero was born in Delia and raised in Santa Rosa, NM where he graduated from Santa Rosa High School (at the Old Alamo) in 1938. He attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. He volunteered during WWII and in April of 1942 after 13 weeks of basic training, was attached to the Army Medical Corp Camp J.T. Robinson. (the Camp Pike) in Little Rock, AR. Later in he was transferred and served as an Instructor at the School for Medical Department Enlisted Technicians in Denver, Co. He was Honorably Discharged in June of 1943 on disability. He served as a member of Santa Rosa's Governing Body and was elected Mayor of Santa Rosa for five consecutive terms. He was also elected President of the New Mexico Municipal League for five consecutive terms. In 1971 he accepted a position with the New Mexico Municipal League as Program Director, Deputy Director and also alternating as Acting Director when needed until his retirement in 1986. In Santa Rosa he worked closely with St. Rose of Lima Parish, St. Rose School and was also a forth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was one of the leaders in helping pass the Anti by-pass legislation to prevent the U.S. Bureau of Public roads from by-passing any town with out their permission. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sotero M. Sanchez, Sr. and Beatrice Aragon Ortega Sanchez; two children, Sylvia Marie Sanchez and Sotero Roderico Raymundo Sanchez; two brothers, Albert Sanchez, and Canuto Ortega. He is survived by Ernest Sanchez and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, Orlando Sanchez and wife Sofia of Albuquerque, Ernestine Chavez of Hobbs, Joseph Sanchez of Albuquerque, Herman Sanchez and Magda of Albuquerque, Janet Dominguez and Ken of Albuquerque, June Ziegenfuss and husband Larry of Las Cruces, Juliette Dempsey and husband John of San Antonio, TX, Eugene Sanchez and wife, Dorothy of Albuquerque, Wife Erlinda M. Sanchez; and mother of his children Petra M Sanchez. Children are Eileen Gallegos and husband, Leroy of Puerto de Luna, Loretta Rael of Albuquerque, Victor C. Sanchez and wife Sandra of Rio Rancho, Verena Lopez and husband George of Santa Fe and Maxine Wheeless and husband Jim of Houston, TX; Two step-children, Ronald Dominguez of Kelseyville, Ca and Arno Dominguez and wife Mary Ann of Santa Cruz, CA; over 100 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial Mass will be Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Refuge in Puerto de Luna, NM. THOMPSON -- Eugene S. Thompson, 87, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Eugene was born in Bedford, IA and was raised in Baxter Springs, KS. He is survived by his brothers-in-law, Otto and Bernd Felger; and two sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 38 years, Dorothea; his parents Clark and Florence Thompson; and his brothers and sisters. Eugene was a retired US WWII Veteran, where he served as a Military Policeman. He was also retired from the City of Albuquerque as a corrections officer. A graveside service will be held with full US Army Military Honors on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, in Santa Fe, NM.
