Jean "Petie" Nielson, 86, went to dance with the angels on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Waiting for her were her parents, Goldie and Bert Swope; and sisters, June and Ruth. She leaves her husband of 59 years, Johnny; daughter, Sheri Higgins; son, Mark Nielson and his wife, Kathleen; granddaughters, Kathie Brunson, Debbie Carlson and Cyndi Dinkel; five great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandson; and three step great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Monte Vista Christian Church. Per her wishes she is to be cremated with a memorial service to follow on Thursday, October 22, 2009, 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel.
