ANDERSON -- Lamont R. Anderson was born February 22, 1951 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He passed away at his home Friday, June 30, 2006. He was a beloved son, steadfast brother, wonderful nephew, great cousin and loyal friend. Lamont is survived by his parents, Wilbert Anderson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Natalie Napoleon-O'Riley of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Natalie Anderson of Denver, CO; brothers, Joseph Anderson and Eric Anderson both of Albuquerque, NM; uncle & aunt, Donald and Martha Lilly of Spanaway, WA; five nephews and three nieces; numerous cousins, other family members and friends who loved and knew him. Lamont was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Florence Napoleon, infant siblings, William Leon Long and Andrea Faye Anderson, uncles, Clinton Napoleon and Andrew Anderson, aunt, Carlita Clinton. Lamont will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, wonderful story telling and his willingness to always help others that included volunteering in the care of the elderly and the rescue of orphaned animals. He had an active role in local theater and film. A viewing and visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary with Pastor Dennis G. Dunn officiating, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Park. ARMIJO -- HELEN G. Mrs. Helen G. Armijo, 90, a longtime South Valley resident, passed away peacefully, July 2, 2005, following a long illness, embraced with love and prayer with her loving family, her care givers at Haven Care and Amber Care Hospice by her side, has gone to be with her Lord. Mrs. Armijo was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 45 years, Mr. John Armijo. Mrs. Armijo is survived by her loving children, Gilbert Gonzales and wife, Cindy, Pauline Heffen and husband, Dennis; her precious grandchildren, Ricardo Padilla and wife, April, Sara Heffern and Johnny Heffern; precious great-grandchildren, Diego and Monet Padilla; her sisters-in-law, Carrie Gonzales and Margie Gabaldon; her brother-in-law, Lalo Armijo and wife, Jenny; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Armijo was a devoted member of St. Anne Catholic Church. Her spirit was a combination of faith, strong-will, quick wit and compassion. Her zest for life and passion to dance a "jitty bug" led her to volunteer at Los Volcanes Senior Center. Her pride in cooking was evident with the phrase "panza llena, corizon contento!" She was a woman with a warm heart and gentle soul and will be greatly missed. Visitation for Mrs. Armijo will be Friday morning from 8.00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. by Mrs. Gabriella Nieto with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:00 a.m. Father John Tourangeau, presider. ATENCIO -- Dolly Atencio joined our Lord on the evening of July 3, 2006. She enjoyed the comfort of her loving family while a gentle rain cleared a path for her passage. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene. Dolly is survived by her children, Eugene Atencio, Joyce Atencio-Valentine, Harold Atencio, Carla Atencio, and Judy Montoya. Also surviving Grandma Dolly are Nichole and Gabriel Atencio, Dominic and Gerrid Montoya, Megan, Erin, Rachel, Alison, and Aeden Atencio. She was loved by all and will be remembered as a spiritual, gentle, intelligent, strong willed and energetic woman. She led by example and always set a clear moral path to follow. She was loving, compassionate, supportive, and an inspiration to her family and friends' lives in ways that helped guide and nurture us in living life faithfully. She will be missed more than words can describe, but wonderful memories will remain in our minds and hearts forever. Services will be held at the historic San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church in Old Town. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday July 6, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday July 7, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. CHAVEZ -- Marcial Chavez "Marshall", passed away July 1, 2006. A resident of Bosque Farms, he is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Marian Scanland; two grandchildren, Paige and Noah Scanland; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Marshall retired as Captain of the Fire Department at Kirtland Air Force Base. He was very active in the Elks Fraternity, having served as Inner Guard, and receiving many commendations from the local and national lodges. Marshall was bestowed with the Honorary Life Membership in 1983 and also honored "Elk of the Year" in 1984. He was Chairman of Entertainment for 11 years, Chairman of Charity for 38 years, and became a member of the prestigious "51ers" in 2004, which was his "greatest accomplishment". Cremation has taken place and private family burial will follow. CODDINGTON -- JULIETTE A. Born September 2, 1906, peacefully passed away dawn Friday morning, June 30, 2006. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Stanley W. Coddington and sisters, Anna Bibeau, and Eva Marquis. Survived by son, Paul M. Coddington; nieces, Claire and Clarence Blankenship, Sylviane and Harry Wright, Laurette (Conrad, deceased) Marquis; nephews, Fernand and Phyllis Bibeau, Edward Jr. and Bonnie Bibeau, and Richard and Pauline Marquis. Also survived by cousins, Neil and Betty Jo Coddington, and Darryl and Barbara Coddington. In addition, she is survived by three generations of great-nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Pursuant to Juliette's wishes, there will be no Services and cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers and memorials, she would prefer a donation to be made to any disabled or paralyzed veterans association. COOK -- Virginia Lee Phillips (Wasung) Cook, 84, died peacefully on July, 1, 2006. She was born a triplet in Tecumseh, OK. Her parents, Samuel and Christine Phillips, raised three boys and nine girls in rural Oklahoma. When brothers (Daniel) Wilson, Jack, and Sam (Junior) volunteered for military service during World War II, Virginia followed their example by enlisting in the Woman's Army Air Corp (WAAC). She met Frederick Cook while stationed at the Army Air Field in Topeka, KS. After their marriage there in 1945, they settled in his home town of Toledo, OH. In 1963, the couple relocated with their four children to Albuquerque. Virginia completed nursing and was employed for years in that capacity before changing careers to become a nuclear medicine technician at the Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC). There were no strangers to Virginia. She considered it an obligation and a privilege to care for the less advantaged among us. Countless times, she took in people to feed and care for them. Virginia was remarkably wise, extremely courageous, and deeply humane. People were captivated by her classic beauty, gentle spirit, and fun-loving personality. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sister, Mildred Owens; as well as first husband, Fred Cook; son, Freddy Cook; and second husband, Stanley Wasung, of Hamtrack, MI. Surviving sisters are Grace Malear, Mary McCuddy, Ruth Power, Lucille Massey, Lillian Stinnett, Faye Richardson, and Patricia Wilmoth, all of Oklahoma. Surviving children are Jeannette Smith and Mary Cook, of Albuquerque, NM; son, Donald Cook and daughter-in-law, Kathy, of Memphis, TN. Grandchildren are Jordan Smith, of Albuquerque; Jennifer Greif, Ashley May, and Gregory Cook, of Memphis. Great-grandchildren are Lauren Greif, David Greif, and Riley May, also of Memphis. The family is very grateful to the staff of the Woodmark Assisted Living Facility (Courtyard); the caregivers at Albuquerque Preferred Assisted Living (Willow Wood); and the Ambercare Hospice team for the loving care they gave Virginia in her final years. Strong-Thorne Mortuary (1100 Coal Avenue SE) will host a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on July 5, 2006, as well as a final viewing at 8:30 a.m. on July 6, 2006. At 9:30 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (1818 Coal Place SE) with burial immediately following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (7500 Paseo del Norte NE). GODFREY -- Richard G. Godfrey, age 78, peacefully passed away to be with his Lord on July 2, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on December 18, 1927 to Morris and Elizabeth Godfrey in Sharon, PA. Richard was a prominent Real Estate appraiser with professional designations from the Appraisal Institute and Real Estate Counselors. Richard was an accomplished musician and private pilot. Richard is survived by his wife, Fay of the family home; daughter, Deborah and husband, Scott Kiser and their children, Jacob and Lauren, all of Frederick, MD; daughter, Gayle Godfrey and her daughter, Lisa of Albuquerque, NM; her son, Sean and wife, Jamie and their daughter, Sierra of Fairbanks, AK; son, Bryan Godfrey and wife, Teresa of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Jim Lostetter and family of California; sister, Robin Lostetter of Lakeview, NJ; and special nephew, Todd Stephens and family of Louisville, KY. GONZALEZ -- Andrew Michael David Gonzalez was born August 8, 1980 and died June 13, 2006. Andrew leaves behind his father, Frankie Gonzalez and stepmother, Darlene Gonzalez; a stepbrother, Bobby Joe Brown and wife, Mary Jo; niece, Shaylin; nephews, Garrett and Clayton; and his grandmother, Juanita L. Gonzalez. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfather, David M. Gonzalez. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts: Mackie Gonzalez and his late wife, Angie Gonzalez; Richard Gonzalez and wife, Barbara; Raymond Gonzalez and wife, Debbie; Larry Gonzalez and wife, Angela; Johnny Joe Gonzalez and Karen; Lita Mendoza and husband, Victor; Gloria Silva and Manuel; Sandra Gonzalez and husband, Ernest; and many loving cousins. Gone but not forgotten. You were ready to take on the world, ready to do it all, but God decided he needed you, so from this world you left. You took a piece of all of us. HELMS -- Audie K. Helms, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 years, died Wednesday, July 5, 2006. Born January 8, 1927 in Jennings, OK. He is survived by his children, Keith Helms, Brenda Gantt and husband, Eddy, Denise Friend and husband, David, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Beau Gantt and wife, Regina, Audie Helms, Willis Johnson and fiance, Melody, Candice Ruggles and husband, Luke, Jennifer Helms and companion, David Montano, Melissa Helms, Ashley Gantt and Travis Friend; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Lloyd Helms of Bixby, OK, Geneva Stark of Eufula, OK, Juanita Adams of Ramona, CA, Marvina Ginn, Melvin Helms, both of Eufula, OK, Leo Helms of Bakersfield, CA and Doug Helms of Bixby, OK; and many other close family and friends. INGLIS -- Ben Harrison-Inglis, age 26, was struck by a car and died Saturday near Pagosa Springs, CO on the last day of a week-long bicycle tour. He was a devoted husband, beloved son, steadfast brother, loyal friend, two-time cancer survivor, and faithful Christian always helping others to the end. He is survived by wife, Leigh Ann of Albuquerque; parents, Harrison and Patrice; and brother, Les of Sweetwoods Dairy, Pena Blanca. He will be loved and treasured forever by his family, wide circle of friends, and pets. JOBE -- Alvin G. Jobe, 77, long-time Albuquerque resident, passed away at his home on June 10, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mabel Jobe; two brothers; a sister; and his wife of 53 years. Alvin was born December 14, 1929, at Westlake, ID, where he attended school, graduating from Craigmont High in 1946. He soon enlisted in the military where he was a meat inspector at various bases in Japan, Europe, and the U.S. Alvin married Francis Tipton in Saline, KS, February 28, 1953. After retiring from the military, they lived in Oklahoma, Idaho, and finally Albuquerque. Alvin enjoyed raising worms for fishing, walking the mall with friends, and fishing at Heron Lake. He was laid to rest with his wife at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Alvin Jobe is survived by friends, neighbors, and family in Lewiston, ID.

JOHNSON -- Dawn Lucile Johnson, 42, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past six years, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 while vacationing in Sliema, Malta. Dawn was born May 25, 1964 the daughter of Frank and Margaret Koehler Johnson in Rochester, NY. She had been a High School teacher before her death. Dawn is survived her parents, Frank and Peggy Johnson; one son, Jesse Karpien; two daughters, Amy Henderson and Shauna Johnson; one brother, Vaughn Johnson; and one nephew, Justin Johnson, all of Rio Rancho, NM. MORA -- Ronna D'Arcy Mora, age 64, of Santa Fe, passed away Monday, July 3, 2006. Ronna was born in Oxnard, CA on July 3, 1942, the loving daughter of John and Johneiece D'Arcy who preceded her in death. She retired from the Los Alamos Public Schools, prior to her retirement she was also employed by the Santa Fe Public Schools. SAAVEDRA -- Suzanne M. Saavedra, age 59, of Albuquerque, went to be with her Lord Saturday, July 1, 2006. Suzanne was born in Albuquerque and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Julian Saavedra in 1968. She devoted her life to her husband and two children. She was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church. Suzanne took great pride in her children and in her grandson and would do anything for them. SANDERS -- Marcella Michael Sanders, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 2, 2006. She is survived by her sister, Betty Lee Michael of Albuquerque; nephews, Pat Gavin, Steven Michael, Dr. Joseph Michael, Michael Grund, Timothy Michael, Dr. Cecil Michael; and nieces, Mrs. Colleen Jean Maloof, Diane Mitchell, Ada Rose Pieroni, and Theresa Ruth Vander Wilt. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Brad Sanders. She was born in Albuquerque where she graduated from St. Vincent's Academy. She was an avid reader and well known for her quick wit and humor. She was very devoted to her family, who will miss her very much. Our thoughts will always be with her, and no one will ever by able to take her place. A SPECIAL THANK YOU to Jill Kittredge of the Copper Rose Assisted Living Home and all her caregivers and Chaplin Jimmy Hood for the kind and loving devotion to all her special needs they provided Marcella. WEBB -- Roy William Webb Jr., age 76, resident of Albuquerque for 69 years passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Ina Webb; son, Roy Webb III; four daughters, Sandra and husband, L.C. Gray, Myrtle Webb, Valerie Webb Jaramillo and husband, Allen, and Katherine Nutt; six grandchildren, Cortez Gray, Dominique Jaramillo. Myhisha Webb, Tremayne Webb, Roy Shamar Webb, III, and Marissa E. Webb; three great-grandchildren, William Jessee, Jasmine, and Mariah Gray and special nieces, Fritzi Harris and Oneida Nutt; and brother-in-Law, Weldon Lindsay and Donnie Nutt. WHIPPLE -- Ruth Whipple, 68, went to once again be with her husband, Clyde on Monday, July 3, 2006. She is survived by her children, Gene Whipple and wife, Gloria, Barbara Rivas and husband, Martin, Steve Whipple and wife, Angela, Maria Whipple, and David Whipple and wife, Denise; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Rosary for Mrs. Whipple will be recited on Thursday evening, July 6, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Antonito Mission. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2006 also at the San Antonito Mission where the Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the San Antonito Cemetery. ZAMORA -- MANUELITA M. Mrs. Manuelita M. Zamora, 82, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 4, 2006, peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Zamora is survived by her ten loving children, Elsie Zamora, LeRoy Benjamin Zamora and wife, Linda, Gilbert Zamora, Benjamin Zamora Jr., Felix Zamora and wife, Octavia, Connie Patterson and husband, Billy, Diana Zamora, Rudy Zamora and wife, Laurie Ann, Esther Zamora-Saavedra, and Paul Zamora; Mrs. Zamora is also survived by her one sister, Aurora Maestas; 24 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Zamora was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin, two daughters, Nora and Irene and an infant son. Visitation for Mrs. Zamora will be Friday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Church of Christ, 3300 La Orilla NW, with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. by Brother Mark McKenzie. Interment will at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons, LeRoy, Gilbert, Benjamin Jr., Felix, Rudy, and Paul.
