ANAYA -- ROY E. Mr. Roy E. Anaya, 64, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 17, 2005. Mr. Anaya is survived by his two daughters, Mar-y-sol Anaya and husband, Paul Blea, Lucianna M. Anaya; mother of his children, Connie Trujillo; two sisters, Margie Castillo and Gloria Wood; two brothers, Tommy Chavez and wife, Alice and Gilbert Chavez; step-grandchildren, Carlos, James and Dominic; many other extended family members. Mr. Anaya was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation for Mr. Anaya will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griego Rd. ARMSTRONG -- Gertrude Christensen Armstrong passed away November 14, 2005 in Grants, NM. She was born June 20, 1913 in Richfield, UT to William Delbert Christensen and Josephine Peterson Christensen. She graduated from Snow College in Utah with a teaching degree. She married Morrin Evan Armstrong on December 21, 1936 in Utah. They moved to Albuquerque in March 1948. She taught kindergarten in Albuquerque and later opened Country Kindergarten in the South Valley. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She will forever be loved and missed by all. She is survived by her daughter, Merrylin Fulks of Albuquerque; her sons, Evan W. Armstrong of Albuquerque and Ronald A. Armstrong of Milan; two sisters, Dessa Paulson, Kathryn Harris; and one brother, Vegh Christensen, all of Utah; her grandchildren, Ralph Fulks III, Leah Lin Musso, and J. Jekoa Fulks and wife, Histina, Lance Morrin Armstrong and wife, Abigail, Paul Pleadwell, and Scotty Pleadwell; her great-grandchildren, Maggie Raquel Fry, Joshua and Rebekka Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morrin Evan Armstrong; and daughter, Louise Armstrong. A viewing will be held Friday, November 18, 2005 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Graveside Services and burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

BOYLE -- Richard Daniel Boyle, 75, of Albuquerque, NM died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at University of New Mexico Hospital. Funeral Services were at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Albuquerque on November 9, 2005. Richard was born on March 28, 1930 in Girard, OH to James and Helen (Rhoades) Boyle. He graduated in 1949 from Vacaville High School in Vacaville, CA. Shortly after enlisting in the Air Force, he was united in marriage to Betty Harvey on August 30, 1952 on Andersen Air Force Base in Agana, Guam. The couple resided in California, Idaho, Texas, and Nebraska where Richard retired from Nebraska Public Power District as an Engineering Manager. He was a member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. After retirement he became active with the Siesta Sams RV club where he was president for 2 years. He loved to fish, travel in his RV, and play cards. Richard is survived by: wife: Betty Boyle of Albuquerque, NM; daughter: Susan Fakhrai of Albuquerque, NM; daughter: Jeanne Rice of Columbus, NE; son: John Boyle of Allen, TX; grandchildren: Leila Fakhrai, Reza Fakhrai, Tyler Rice, Jennifer (Boyle) Griffith, Anthony Boyle, and Sarah Boyle. BURCHETT -- Olden Lee Burchett passed away on November 16, 2005, in Fairview, OK. He was born on April 4, 1934, in Seiling, OK to Roy and Louise Burchett. He attended Deep Creek elementary and Seiling High School. He received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Olden worked at Sandia National Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico for thirty-two years. Olden taught Mechanical Engineering for many years at Oklahoma State University, University of Oklahoma, University of New Mexico, and Texas Tech University. He is survived by his wife, Jean of fifty-one years. His children are David Olden Burchett, deceased; Howard Roy Burchett of Bosque Farms, NM; daughter, Laura Jean and husband, Shannon Ritchie; and three grandchildren, Haley, Garrett, and Gavin Ritchie of Lubbock, TX; brothers, O'Neill and wife, Charlotte Burchett of Las Cruces, NM; Bud Burchett of Seiling, OK; sister, Bonnie Cox of Seiling, OK; and brothers-in-law, Dwayne Hedges of Seiling, OK; Rubin and wife, Ann Millerborg of Piedmont, OK. CASTILLO -- RICHARD P. Mr. Richard P. Castillo, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 17, 2005. Mr. Castillo is survived by his loving children, Pres Tafoya, Prudy Hefley and husband, Vaugh, Dennis Tafoya and wife, Carol, Johnny Leroy Tafoya, Genaro Tafoya, and Carla Trujillo, Esther Robles and Richard Castillo Jr.; three sisters, Aurora Torres and husband, Frank, Lupe Gurule and Eva Castillo; three brothers, Fernandez Castillo Jr., and wife, Sally, Andres Castillo and wife, Patsy and Ruben Castillo; 16 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many other extended family members. Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his wife, Louisa E. Castillo and by a daughter, Darlene Olivas and a granddaughter Renee Olivas. Mr. Castillo was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the United States Army. DAMAZYN -- Florian C. Damazyn, 75 years young, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2005. Florian was born in Milwaukee, WI, and then moved to Albuquerque in 1973. He is preceded in death by his parents, Florian Sr. and Gladys, and brother, Gerald. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beatrice; his sister, Carol and dear friend, Dave; daughter, Donna; sons and their spouses, David and Marie, Bruce and Barbara, Lee and Kathy, and Brian and Kym; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. EASTER -- Kathryn Barfied Easter died Friday , November 18, 2005, due to pancreatic cancer. She and husband, Bill retired from the Chicago area, where she taught elementary school and initiated a program for the gifted. She is survived by her husband; sons, Pope and Ellis and their families; a sister, Sally; stepsons, Paul, Brian, and Patrick Easter and their families; and her dearly beloved nine grandchildren. A Requiem will be offered at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2005. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. GERMAN -- Lawrence Davis German, M.D., FAAC, age 55, died Tuesday, November 16, 2005 following a courageous 3 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born Thursday, April 28, 1950 in Schenectady, NY to Lawrence Lyle and Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German attended Boston University Medical School, did his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and completed his Fellowship in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at Duke University in Durham, NC, where he continued as faculty and head of the Electrophysiology Department at Duke until 1988. After leaving Duke University, Dr. German practiced Cardiology Electrophysiology in Nashville, TN with Page-Campbell Cardiology from 1988 until 1999. In 2000, Dr. German moved to Albuquerque, NM and joined The New Mexico Heart Institute where he practiced until his death. He is survived by his wife, Danise, and daughter, Kirsten Macall, age 10, of Albuquerque; daughters, Laura Ellen, age 26 and Julia Lynn, age 24, both of Nashville, TN; step-son, Brannon Edward Burroughs, age 23 of Atlanta, GA; father, Lawrence Lyle German; sister, Ellen Berndt and niece, Elizabeth Berndt of Columbus, OH; brother, Andrew German and sister-in-law, Luann German of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Davis German. Dr. German devoted his life to Electrophysiology and healing hearts. The hearts of his family, co-workers, friends and patients that are now broken in his loss, will find solace in knowing that he deeply loved and cared for each one of us and remains with us through his spirit of commitment felt by all. The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 18, 2005 at the family home of the late Dr. Lawrence German from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Albuquerque Country Club. GLYMPH -- Charles K. Glymph was a born in Pomaria, SC in 1922. He passed November 5, 2005 after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his sister Mrs. Sarah Wilcox of Alexandria, VA; his brother, Samuel Glymph of Newberry, SC; his son, Heyward Charles Glymph of Las Cruces; and his grandchildren, Sierra Glymph and Aaron Glymph, both of Las Cruces, NM. Charles K. Glymph served our country for 42 years, 23 years in the U.S. Army and 19 years in the Veteran's Administration in Albuquerque, NM. His military service included three tours of duty in Europe in World War II during which he took part in the invasion of Normandy on D-Day at Omaha Beach. He served a four year tour in Berlin, Germany during which he met his wife of 54 years, Hannelore Thiede Glymph, who passed away in Albuquerque on November 19, 2004. Following his duty in Germany, he served in Korea for two years and subsequently in the occupation of Japan in Tokyo. He finished his military career performing various assignments in the United States. During his years serving in the military, Charles K. Glymph was awarded the following commendations for service to his country: The Bronze Star-for extraordinary service in Europe during WWII, The Combat Infantry Badge- for duty in the European - African - Middle Eastern Theater, The Normandy Medal- Jubilee Medal of Liberty - awarded by the French Government, Meritorious Service Award - 1942-1945, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, Medal of Occupation, Germany, with the Berlin Airlift Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal- awarded six times. Charles K. Glymph was a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM which he considered home. He passed while residing at the Village at Northrise and enjoyed his final months in the city of Las Cruces. HAMPTON -- Charles Hampton, age 85, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2005. Charles was born in Goree, TX. He graduated from Lubbock Cooper High School, class of 1938. He married the love of his life, Eva Mae, on November 8, 1941. Charles worked at the Santa Fe Railroad in Slaton, TX in 1941; in Clovis, NM, from 1942-1949; and in Belen, NM from 1949-1983. He enjoyed cars, loved working in his garden, traveling, fishing, and camping. He loved Mexican food, but most of all he loved his family. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barnie Hampton; his sister, Garnetta Edwards; and his brother, G.C. Hampton. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Eva Mae Hampton; his son, Wayland Hampton and wife, Diane Hampton of Belen, NM; his daughter, Linda Nicholson of Belen, NM; granddaughters, Sherlyn Cullumber and fiancee, Jason DeVoney of Simi Valley, CA, and Michelle Hampton and fiancee, Ryan Gray of Albuquerque; grandson, Lance Cullumber and his wife, Tamra of Tucson, AZ; great-grandsons, Dylan and Braden DeVoney of Simi Valley, CA; and great-granddaughters, Ashli Hampton and Madyson Gray of Albuquerque, NM. KARAMANIAN -- Florence Karamanian, 79, born in Waukon, IA died November 11, 2005. A beautiful lady and one of Jehovah's Witnesses, for 50 years she served her creator going from house to house doing the Lord's work. She touched the heart of many hundreds of people preaching the "good news of God's Kingdom." She also had a hobby of making "quillos." She made over two hundred of them and gave many to friends. She was generous, kind, friendly and always smiling - a very positive person. Her favorite saying: "Let's turn this lemon into lemonade!" She awaits a resurrection promised by God into a paradise earth. She is survived by her husband, Jack; her two children, Karan Karamanian and Bruce Dahly and his wife, Kathy; also four grandchildren, Steve Pendarvis, Kimberly Pendarvis, Crystal Skaggs, Kristen Dahly; and a great-grandchild, Raven Pendarvis; also her sister, Lila Cowen and her husband, Jim and their children, Ronnie, Scott, Diane, Sheryl, and Mary Lynn; also her brother, Milo Saak and wife, Rose. LENTE -- Walter Franklin Lente went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. He was born on December 11, 1930 and raised in Gallup, NM. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He spent his remaining life in Albuquerque. Walter worked for the Anaconda Jackpile Mine for 26 years in Paquate, NM. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved the Denver Broncos and Notre Dame. Over a span of 15 years, he coached with the YAFL, Little league baseball and was a sports official. He was a Boy Scout troop leader for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, also his Country music, and playing his guitar. During his latter years with his failing eyesight his constant companions were his labs: Meagan, Morgan, and Lexy. He was preceded in death by his father; Frank Lente and his grandson, Vernon Wallace III. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Lente, of 23 years; his mother, Mary Lente of Gallup, NM; his brothers: Arthur Lente and his wife, Erma, Donald Lente and his wife, Carla, and Edward Lente of Gallup; his children, Loretta and her husband, MSgt Dennis Curtis, Laverne Teupell, Ronald Lente, Kevin Lente and his wife, Judy, Brenda Lente and her fiance, Dr. Ron Ziemann, Chaplain Terry Lente and his wife, Marcia, David Lente, Yvonne and her husband, Roy Metzgar, Tom King and his wife, Sherri, Wendy and her husband, Scott Martinez, Cindy and her husband, Richard Estrada. He is survived by 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Walter will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. SANCHEZ -- Ruben Sanchez, age 80, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. Ruben was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He will forever be loved and missed by all. Ruben was always kind, friendly and full of love and joy. He rarely missed an opportunity to speak with whomever he came across. Ruben will be remembered as one with an extreme work ethic, having worked as a barber, having worked in the uranium mines in Grants, and finally retiring from the Santa Fe Railroad. Ruben was preceded in death by his parents, Leandro and Candelaria Sanchez; his sister, Emma; and his long time companion, Senovia Cordova. He is survived by his nine children, Dolores Sparling and husband, Robert, Ruby Lyons and husband Doug, William Sanchez and fiancee, Loretta Lopez, Cathy Preissler and husband, Robert, Carol Archuleta and husband, Alfred, Gerald Sanchez and wife, Gerilynn, Daniel Sanchez and wife Naeomi, Francisco Sanchez and wife, Eva, and Ruben James Sanchez and wife, Jennifer. He is also survived by three sisters, Frances Garcia, Gloria Chavez, and Sofia Sanchez; 20 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. THOMAS -- Betty M. Thomas, 82, passed from this life Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Betty Lou McFadden was born April 3, 1923, in Ringwood, OK to Lula and Roy McFadden. She came to Albuquerque from northern New Mexico in 1940. She worked for the Corps of Engineers during World War II and later worked for APS, retiring in 1988 as secretary at Bellehaven Elementary School. In 1947, she married William P. Thomas who preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Weidenmeyer and husband, Bob of Houston, TX and Debra Smith of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Heather Nagy and husband, Mike of Houston, TX and Geremy Gillespie of Chandler, AZ; and two great-grandsons, Luke and Brandon Nagy of Houston, TX; two brothers, Paul McFadden of Albuquerque and Walter McFadden of Florence, CO; and two sisters, Kathryn Knotts of New Plymouth, ID and Frances Walters of Granada Hills, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a grandson. VALADEZ -- Mary Valadez, 55, died November 16, 2005. She was preceded in death by her brother, Alfonso "Sito" Garcia; parents, Alfonso P. Garcia and Mary C. Anaya; husband, Arthur Valadez; and daughter, Jennie Valadez. She is survived by her brother, George W. Garcia and wife, Olivia; nephews, George Garcia Jr., and Frank Garcia and wife, Jessica; niece, Jennifer Gallegos and husband, James; several great-nieces and -nephews; aunt and uncle, Orlando "Babe" Lopez and wife Theresa. A Rosary will be recited at St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday, November 18, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Church. At 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Lopez, Robert Lopez, Tom Wassman, Rigo Martinez, Joseph Gutierrez, and Bobby Lugo.
