THOMAS -- Betty M. Thomas, 82, passed from this life Wednesday, November 16, 2005. Betty Lou McFadden was born April 3, 1923, in Ringwood, OK to Lula and Roy McFadden. She came to Albuquerque from northern New Mexico in 1940. She worked for the Corps of Engineers during World War II and later worked for APS, retiring in 1988 as secretary at Bellehaven Elementary School. In 1947, she married William P. Thomas who preceded her in death. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Weidenmeyer and husband, Bob of Houston, TX and Debra Smith of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Heather Nagy and husband, Mike of Houston, TX and Geremy Gillespie of Chandler, AZ; and two great-grandsons, Luke and Brandon Nagy of Houston, TX; two brothers, Paul McFadden of Albuquerque and Walter McFadden of Florence, CO; and two sisters, Kathryn Knotts of New Plymouth, ID and Frances Walters of Granada Hills, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother; two sisters; and a grandson. Betty was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE, where Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2005, 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Lyle Reese officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, November 18, 2005, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 19, 2005, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. "We will all miss our loving and generous Mom and Grammy." The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all relatives and friends who were so kind, supportive and helpful during their recent loss and in particular, the physicians and staff in the Cardiac Care Unit at Presbyterian Hospital.
