BENTZ -- Arnold E. Bentz, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Bentz; son, Melvin P. Bentz and wife, Rhonda; daughter-in-law, Cathy Bentz; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Gabriel, Marisa, and Matthew; brother, Otto Bentz; and sister, Esther Lloyd. He was preceded in death by his son, Arnold F. Bentz in 2002. Mr. Bentz retired from Sandia Labs after 37 years of service. Memorial service will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel with Pastor Philip Wangberg, officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. BERNAL -- Antonio D. (Tony) Bernal, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away on January 2, 2004. Tony was born in Tinaja, New Mexico, on January 24, 1924, where he lived until he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. After leaving the Navy Tony worked for Wylie Brothers Corporation, in Albuquerque. He retired in 1989. During much of this time he and his wife, Nora also ran the Cattleman's Livestock Cafe in Belen, New Mexico. Tony is survived by his wife of 45 years Nora S. Bernal of Belen, New Mexico; five step children, Charlene Bryant of Los Lunas, Cathy and her husband, Lanny Cornell of El Cajon, CA., Sue Bock of Los Lunas, Pat and her husband Bob Richards of El Cajon, CA., Jerry Medley and his wife Susan of San Clemente, CA; three sisters, Elena Bernal and Terecina Jean of Albuquerque, Viola Castillo of Palo Blanco, NM; two brothers, Ignacio Bernal and his wife Lala of Springer, NM, Juan Bernal and his wife Louise of Sherman, TX , thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Tony was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, New Mexico Chapter, 8100 Mountain Rd. NE, Suite 102, Albuquerque, NM 87110. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel from 2:30 p.m.to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2004. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Monday, January 5, 2004 with a Funeral Mass following at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen. BRIDGES -- Morene Hill Bridges, beloved mother and grandmother, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, born December 3, 1914, passed away January 1, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Reagan and husband, Jim; grandchildren, James (Bubba) Collier Jr. and wife, Shelly, Katrina Volman and husband, Steve, Melanie Sandoval and husband, Ron; 11 great grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Pastor David Brittian and Pastor John Embrey officiating. FUERTSCH -- Marie Fuertsch, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 30 years, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2003. Marie was born September 21, 1916 the daughter of Andrew Joseph and Mary Agnes Mulloy Welsh in Dallas, Texas. Marie came to New Mexico from Ft. Worth, Texas. She was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic church; signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society; member of Albuquerque United Artists; and the Yucca Group of American Pen Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Fuertsch in 1993. She is survived by five children, David F. Fuertsch, Kenneth Fuertsch, Karen A. Mitchell, Maureen Fuertsch, and Andrew J. Fuertsch; three grandchildren, Nathan, Sara, and Alicia; and one great-grandchild, Devin. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated today, Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. HUCHKO -- Dorothy Mary "Dot" Huchko, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997 died Thursday, January 1, 2004. She is survived by her husband John Huchko of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary Ann Cook of Albuquerque; two sons, John Huchko and wife Linnea of Jacksonville, FL, and Gary Huchko and wife Pat of Pembroke, MA; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Megan, Jason, Greg, Kym; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alexis, Abigail, and Logan. Dorothy was a very loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared nearly 60 years with her husband John and worked as an RN for many years in Pittsburg and Chicago. She was a member of Eastern Star San Marcial #34 in Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Wyoming Blvd. Chapel with Pastor Terry Anderson officiating. LAMBERT -- Douglas Frank Lambert, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2003. Douglas served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a machinist (tool and die maker) for General Electric and retired in 1982. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jean Phelan Lambert; daughters, Donna Lambert of Albuquerque, Diana Shaver and husband, Lee, of Georgia, Delores Pierce and husband, Randall of Alabama; numerous grandchildren; and three step-children, Patricia Weber of Albuquerque, Thomas Mulville of Tijeras and Marcia Weis of Los Lunas. Douglas was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Lambert, in 1986. Services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. LOVATO -- Eric M. Lovato, 34, beloved by his family and friends, passed away December 30, 2003 after a long illness. He is survived by his parents, Isaac and Patricia Saavedra; two brothers, Jonathan Lovato and Robert Buckner; longtime companion, Rick Gonzales; a nephew and niece; and numerous friends. Eric was fun loving, generous and always ready to lend a helping hand. Mass will be held Saturday, January 3, 2004, at Holy Family Church, 550 Atrisco Drive SW, at 10:00 a.m., to be followed by a private burial for the family.

MARTINEZ -- Mrs. Loretta F. Martinez, 61, a resident of Albuquerque passed on January 1, 2004 with her loving family by her side after battling cancer for 4 years. Mrs. Martinez was the beloved wife of 38 years to Mr. Edward Martinez. Mrs. Martinez was a loving mother to one daughter, Theresa A. (Bonnie) Martinez; two sons, Edward J. (Sonny) Martinez and wife, Patricia (Pat), Arcenio (Archie) Martinez and wife, Joy; a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren, Jocelyn, Angelena, John, Brenda, Jessica, Jasmine, Joseph, Jayden and Joleigh; two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Ashley. Mrs. Martinez was a loving sister to three sisters, Frances Toledo, Leanore Fragua, Eloida Toya and husband, James; three brothers, Robert, Albert and Jacky Fragua. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and friends. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved everyone and opened her heart and home to so many and will be missed dearly. She was very proud of her family and her heritage. A visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino de San Martin SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m by Brother A. J. San Francesco. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Santuario de San Martin Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Vance. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, John Martinez, Calvin Toya, Harris Toya, Ray Cardona, Art Cardona and Rodney Cardona.
