Boggess -- O.E."Bogie" Boggess who had been a resident of New Mexico since 1939 died Saturday, August 31, 2002. He is survived by two sons, Glen and Dale Boggess; and their wives, Roberta and Margaret; two grandsons, Clinton and Daniel; and their wives, Jacqueline and Maggie; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Jeannette and Jacquelyn Boggess; a brother, Lewis Porter and his wife, Fern; and a sister, Faye Hosman and husband, Raymond. He was preceded in death by his, wife Faye Darlene Wheatley Boggess whom he nursed through a five year bout with cancer. O.E. Boggess was born in Liberty, MO where he was raised by his mother, Mable and his stepfather, Jay Porter. As a young man he was fascinated by barnstorming pilots that would visit his farming area. This fascination grew into a lifelong love of airplanes. During WWII he worked for Douglas Aircraft as a flight test mechanic installing instrumentation and bombsights. During his years in the aircraft industry, he first worked on the Fort Tri-motor and ended with the Douglas DC-10. This work spanned 40 years including 28 years with Continental Airlines for which he was the maintenance foreman in Albuquerque. During his working career, he also farmed in Bosque Farms, was an adult leader in 4-H clubs, and was a founding member of Peralta Community United Methodist Church. Following his retirement he served a term on the Bosque Farms Village Council, and a driving force in building the Bosque Farms Library. Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2002, French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Rev. Don Boren officiating. Bordenave -- Mary A. Bordenave born in Dodge City, Kansas December 16, 1914, and passed away at home in the presence of her children, on September 4, 2002, at the age of 87.¯ Mary moved to New Mexico in 1940, retired from Sandia Laboratories in 1974, and since then has enjoyed travel and spending time at her cabin on the Conejos River, in Colorado.¯ Mary was an active member for many years in both Eastern Star and White Shrine.¯ She is survived by her sons, Jean Bordenave, and Louis Bordenave, and wife, Linda; daughter, Kristine Bordenave and husband, James Feeney; grandchildren, Dayna Melvin, Yvonne Christner, Tiffany O¯Connell, and Samantha Bordenave; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Grayson Melvin, Megan and Leah Christner, and Tyler Zamora; nieces, Patricia Bordenave, Joleen McCormick, and Karen Kaul; nephews, James Wood and Charles Wood.¯ In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a family memorial service will be celebrated in the spring of 2003.¯ In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.¯ Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th NW Albuquerque, 343-8008.

Harrington -- Rosemary J. Harrington of Ramah New Mexico died on Monday afternoon in her garden. Born June 19, 1924 in Monroeville, Ohio Rosemary¯is survived by her husband of 48 years Kenneth J. Harrington; her daughter, Rebecca (Becky) Arunyon & her four children, (Rosemary's grandchildren) Matthew, Zachary, Kaitlin, and Jenna¯of Houston TX. As well as her son, Timothy P. Harrington of Rio Rancho, NM, and son, Mark W. Harrington of Albuquerque, NM. Rosemary also leaves behind her brother, Jack W. Hildreth -- Christine J. Hildreth, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 4, 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Van Horn of Albuquerque and Jan Graham and husband, Don of Chama; son, James E. Hildreth of Houston, TX; and grandchildren, Anita Kristine Deyoe and husband, James and Brett W. Van Horn, all of Albuquerque. Mrs. Hildreth's family wishes to express their love and thanks to dear friends, Carmella Alessi and Maxcene Brown, for their support and care of our mother during these difficult months of her illness. Mrs. Hildreth lived most of her life in Pryor, OK. After moving to Albuquerque in 1973, she worked as an office manager at the Albuquerque Emergency Animal Clinic for over 20 years. Holguin -- Tomas Quintana Holguin, born in Carlsbad, NM on July 19, 1946 to Rita Quintana Holguin of Redford, TX and Santiago Gallegos Holguin of Delicias, Chihuahua died on Wednesday September 4th, 12:12 a.m. at Kindred Hospital. He is the youngest of 12 & is survived by four brothers, Mike Holguin of Albuquerque, Daniel Holguin of Carsbad, NM, Santiago Holguin, Jr. of Corrales, NM, Alfonso Holguin of El Paso, TX, & by six sisters, Micaela Gonzales, Elizabeth Cook, & Maria Holguin of Albuquerque, Amelia Herrera of San Jose, CA, Eustolia Ielacqua of Belen, NM, Ramona Holguin of Oakland, CA; 28 nieces & nephews, 35 great-nieces & nephews; three great-great-nieces & nephews, and by his god-daughter, Kristin Hughes, of Rio Rancho, NM. He was met in heaven by both his parents, his brother Lazaro Holguin of El Paso, TX, and his niece, Maria del Rosario (Cissy) Holguin. Tom faced the challenges of quadraplegia for 39 years, living three times longer than his life expectancy. Educated at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, he served his community as a career/educational counselor for the disabled & incarcerated. He was a Big Brother and Special Olympics volunteer, & an outspoken lobbyist/advocate for healthcare & equal access for the disabled. He enjoyed the hobby of drag racing & won many awards. Jordan -- Mary E. Jordan, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 19 years, died Thursday, September 5, 2002. Kirchner -- Kent Kirchner 56, passed away on September 3, 2002. He was preceded in death by his son, John.¯ He is survived by his wife, Maggie of Santa Fe; daughter, Erica of Denver, CO; his granddaughter, Carol and her mother, Pam of Albuquerque; and his Marine brother, Jerry Davis and family of Santa Fe. ¯Kent was a former Marine who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was working at Camel Rock Casino at the time of his death. Luhn -- Evan Ryan Luhn, 53, a longtime resident of Albuquerque and most recently of Bosque Farms, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 29, 2002. Born in Rhode Island and moving with his family to New Mexico as a youth, he graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and subsequently the Coast Guard Reserve. After earning an LVN degree, he returned to New Mexico in the mid 1980s. He was employed by the UNM Mental Health Center and was active in the local arts community. Ryan is survived by two brothers, Roderick of Norfolk, VA and Edward of Bosque Farms, NM; a paternal aunt, Dr. Nellie Currarino of Dallas, TX; a maternal aunt, Mrs. Barbara Messinger of Wakefield, RI; a niece and nephew, Paige and Gregory Luhn of Shrewsbury, NJ; and a nephew and niece, Justin and Brittany Luhn of Norfolk, VA. Ryan will be remembered fondly by all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Mexico AIDS Services. Arrangements have been made to inter his ashes at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, where he will eternally join his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Graham H. Luhn.

Melini -- George P. Melini Jr., 25, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2002. He was born on August 7, 1977 in Albuquerque, NM. Her is survived by his father, George Melini Sr. and wife, Kathy; mother, Ruby Montano, fiancé, Jessica Paz; daughters, Antoinette Melini, Chantel Melini, Jasmine Melini and Alexis Melini; sisters, Karla Melini and Wendy Melini; stepbrothers, Charles Richard and David Richard, stepsister; Crystal Richard; grandmother, Rufina Montano; aunts, Dorthy Laberret, Lorraine Williams, Gloria Montano and Margie Montano; and uncle, Nicolas Montano. George will be deeply missed by his loving family. Morton -- Ancil Guy"Morty" Morton, age 89, died Saturday, August 31, 2002 born August 31, 1913 in Dennis, TX. He was the last surviving child of seven. He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Homer Guy Morton and mother, Effie Lee Taff. He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer second class after 22 years. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. After the Navy, he worked for the employment Security Commission of New Mexico as an appeals referee. Ancil retire after 16 years. Ancil also received an Associate's Degree in real estate from the University of Albuquerque. He and his wife, Nedra were fellow founders of the Chaparral Bulldog Club of New Mexico. Ancil was a handler and breeder of many champion English Bulldogs. Ancil is survived by his daughter, Barbara Gayle Debenport of Ft. Worth, TX; his son, Guy Frederick Morton and his wife, Michele Taylor-Morton of Albuquerque. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Lorin Douglas Long, his wife, Debbie and three children, Stephanie Cook, Amberly Long, and Jordan Long, Joel Robin Long, his wife, Sarah and three children, Spencer, Simon, and Barbara Greer Long, Julai Anne Maas and husband, Travis, Christine Marie Soulsby and husband, Josh, Tamara Gayle Utsler, husband, Jeremy and great-grandson, Brian Pickens. O'neal -- Walter B. O'Neal, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 4, 2002. Born in Elida, NM, Walter spent most of his life near Carlsbad, NM working for the National Park Service at Carlsbad Caverns. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Walter retired in Albuquerque in 1974, and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy O'Neal; stepdaughter, Marty Wilson and husband, Rodney; and son-in-law, David Wilkison; grandchildren and great-grandchildren include, Gregory Williams and wife, Laurie, Abigail and Nicholas Williams, Laurie Wilkison, Jenny Bryant and husband, Joel, Erin Young and husband, Mark and Patrick Williams. Sanchez -- Albertina C. Sanchez, 86, a resident of Los Chavez, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2002 while surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Belen Senior¯ Citizen Center where she loved to play bingo. Preceding her in death were her husband, Alberto Sanchez in 1991; one grandson, Gilbert Romero in 1994; her parents, Jesus and Jesusita Chavez; two sisters, Trinidad"Lala" Sanchez; and Jenny Salazar; three brothers, Elfigio, Liberato, and Samuel Chavez. She is survived by her daughters, Florela Padilla and her husband, Tony; and Carmela Romero; one sister, Orpha Salazar and her husband, Pat; brother-in-law, Santiago Sanchez; eight grandchildren, Phillip Romero and his wife, Renee; Cindy Romero of Tulsa, OK; Paul Romero and his wife, Jackie; Tina Bibiano and her fiance, Pete Sedillo; Paula Solano and her husband, Gerald; Shirlee Chavez and her husband, Glenn; Diana Romero and Steve; Catherine Padilla and Adam; 14 great-grandchildren, Nancy and her husband, Anthony; Tiffany; Amanda; Gabby; Justin; Travis; Aaron; Carlos; Ryan; Dylan; Nicholas; Shawn; Brandyn; and Timothy; and two great-great-grandchildren, Emily and Bryanna. Albertina is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 6, 2002 at 5:30pm with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Phillip and Paul Romero, Gerald Salano, Glenn Chavez, Pete Sedillo, and Adam Sena. Honorary pallbearers will include her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Schneider -- Aaron M."White Wolf" Schneider, 22, went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2002. He was a 1998 graduate of Rio Grande High School and a devout Christian attending Victory Outreach and Aposolto Alto Churches. This 6'9" Gentle Giant is survived by his parents, Pete and Beth Schneider and a brother, Nathan of the family home; also his grandparents, Pete and Marion Schneider of Paradise Hills. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles, Terry and Nancy Schneider, Pam Schneider and Paula, Linda Lowe and Marc and Patty Schneider all of Albuquerque; Kathy Howard of Long Valley, NJ, James W. Howard and wife, Dianne of Newport Beach, CA, Daniel W. Howard and wife, Barb of Richardson, TX and Michael Howard of Phoenix, AZ. His big heart and compassionate love will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held Friday, September 6, 2002, 10:00 a.m., at Victory Outreach, 233 Sunset Rd. SW. Tharp -- Elbert Lee Tharp, 61, a resident of Flora Vista, NM, passed away in the early morning of Wednesday, September 4, 2002. He was preceded in death by his father, W.D. Tharp in March 2002. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nannette Ray of Albuquerque; son and daughter-in-law, William and Valerie Ray of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Denise and Rick Popham of Taylor, TX; grandchildren, Joseph and Robert Ray of Colorado Springs, CO and Katy, Daniel and Dillion Tharp of Taylor, TX; mother, Oletha Tharp of Gatesville, TX; and brother and sister-in-law, Don and Patty Tharp of Saudi Arabia.
