Fuller -- Andra Lee Fuller, "Chub," 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died Wednesday, January 30, 2002. Chub was born June 13, 1923 in Pascagula, MS to Rufus Atwood Fuller and Christine Alameda Dove. He is survived by his brother, Alton of Lake Travis, TX and his wife of 58 years, Annie Lee Moreau; four sons, John, Drew, Steve and Mark; daughter, Ginger MacLamore, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, Jesi, Jeni, Sarah, Eric MacLamore and Angela MacLamore Sanchez; and one great-grandchild, little Sophia Sanchez. Chub's family lived near Natchitoches, LA where his father owned and operated a truck farm and sold produce from his country store. He was stationed in the Philippines as an aircraft mechanic in the 13th AAF during WWII and in 1947 was part of an exodus from Louisiana to Jal, NM looking for work. Chub and his two brothers, Alton and Marvin raised families while employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company. He loved to watch the Hit Parade, Red Skelton, Charlie Weaver and the Dallas Cowboys. It seems he left early for a better seat at the Super Bowl. The Fuller family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to Tony and Lynne Blake of the Albuquerque Robin House. Their compassion is beyond measure. Services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Funes -- Jose Funes, "Daddy, Tata, Compadre¯ Funes," 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque was taken home to the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2002. He is survived by the love of his life, Maria ¯Chata¯ Funes, they were married for 58 years; children, Felix Funes and wife, Patsy, Michelle Gallegos and husband, Raymond, Maryann Baca, Tony Funes and wife, Alma, Julia Garcia and husband, Sam, Santiago Funes, Clara Dixon and husband, Jim, Theresa Gomez and husband, Ernie, Raymond Funes, Alice Brito, Angel Franco and husband, Louie, Eva Clark and husband, Mark and Monica Salazar and husband, Alex and Crystal Funes; 43 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, like a son, Armando"Chato" Ortiz. His extended family included nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews in his home country of Mexico. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Felix & Angelita Funes; a son, Juan De La Cruz Funes; four brothers; one sister; and a grandson; Little Ray Gallegos. Jose was very proud of his hometown, he was born on March 28, 1922 in San Francisco del Rincon, Guanajuato. Tata will be remembered for his love and cariño that he showed to everyone. Like his patron saint, St. Joseph, he was also a carpenter and was a master at his trade. His carpentry work can be seen at St. Charles Borromeo Church and also the doors at Sacred Heart Church. "Daddy" left a huge impression on everyone he met and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited, Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 412 Stover Ave. SW. Friends may visit one hour prior to Rosary at the church. Funeral service will be held, Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Deacon Tom Perez officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Holmes -- Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Clay Waller Holmes, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer on January 30, 2002. Born October 20, 1928 in Marshall County, Kentucky to Roscoe and Willie Mae Holmes. He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jo Blewett on August 4, 1951. Clay graduated from the University of Louisville¯s Jefferson School of Law with a Bachelors of Laws degree in 1952. That year he embarked upon a long career in the Insurance Claims Industry. Father of four sons, Clay donated many hours in his hometown of Benton, KY, as a Scoutmaster and leader of many youth projects in his local Methodist Church. In 1962, Clay took a position with G.A.B. in Yuma, Arizona as a Claims Adjuster and moved the family ¯out west.¯ In 1964, he moved to Boise, Idaho with G.A.B. as Regional Casualty Supervisor for the Western Region, and moved again in 1968 to Bountiful, Utah. There he was active in the Community Church where he taught Sunday school and was a Scout Leader for many years. In 1973, he became a partner in the adjusting firm of Sonntag and Mallory. In 1981, the partners sold Sonntag & Mallory and Clay and Betty moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico after becoming"enchanted" with the life and the land. He began doing claims work again for G.A.B. until he retired in 1991. Clay¯s greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed all family activities including weekend sports and game playing. Clay was passionate in his reading, studying, teaching and conversing about history, geography and politics. Clay loved to travel and incorporated his fascination with history in his many journeys, including Europe and China. A Christian gentleman, Clay was a student of the Bible, and read all the Books of the Bible five times. Clay lived his faith and was a role model for all who knew him. Clay was preceded in death by his mother and father, Willie Mae and Roscoe Holmes Sr.; brother, Curtis Holmes; and sister, Lena Mae Holmes Wilkes. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Betty Holmes of Paradise Hills in Albuquerque; sons, John Wesley "Wes" Holmes and wife, Jill; granddaughters, Phyllis Ann and Elizabeth Marie Holmes of Farmington, Utah; Joel B. Holmes and wife, Ellen; grandson, Colin; granddaughter, Maggie of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Clay W. Holmes Jr. and wife, Mary; granddaughter, Margo Rodriguez; grandson, Roderick Rodriguez and great-granddaughter, Lee Anna Rodriguez of Rio Rancho; Robert C. Holmes and wife, Kam and grandson, Bruce Hinds of Albuquerque, NM. Also survived by sisters, Lunelle Nickell Holmes and Flora Lee Hawkins of Kentucky; brother, Roscoe Holmes Jr. of Fresno, CA, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Clay was loved and respected by all who knew him and counted on his sound judgment and advice. He has been a wonderful influence and example to follow for all who were fortunate to know him. He will be missed but never forgotten. Service will be on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. Keithley -- Kendall Ward Keithley passed away suddenly on January 29, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Lavona; daughter, Kimberly and son, Kevin; sister, Marilyn Keithley Kraemer and husband, John; brother-in-law, Howard West and wife, Carol with their two children, Joseph and Katharine; three nephews, Michael Kraemer and wife, Kierstie, Stephen and Thomas; two great-nephews, Matt and Kyle; Aunt Winnie and Uncle Harry; two cousins, Lenny and Steve. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Cremation has taken place. A private Memorial Service for family and friends has been arranged. Kiernan -- William Henry Kiernan, 85, a resident of New Mexico since 1968 and of Rio Rancho since 1972, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2002. William was born February 2, 1916 the son of William H. and Elizabeth Kraft Kiernan in New York City, New York. William was a WW II combat Veteran retiring as Lt. Colonel of the US Army. After leaving the service, he joined the New York City Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant after 22 years. He was a member of the Retired Law Enforcement Officers Association.He served on the New Mexico Governor's Council on Law Enforcement Assistance Administration, and also was a Court Clerk for Bernalillo District Court. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. William was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Kay Kiernan in September of 1997. He is survived by three sons, William Hugh Kiernan of Yucaipa, CA, Wayne Kiernan of Port Washington, NY, and Kerry Kiernan of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Thomas Kiernan of Marlton, NJ; and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio RAncho, with Fr. Ronald Stone as the Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will be at 1:30 p.m. in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. It has been suggested that contributions be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Massey -- Aubrey Lee Massey passed away January 26, 2002. He was born October 3, 1918 in Turkey, TX to Arthur and Imogene (Pinkerton) Massey. After living in various other places, he moved with his family to Roswell, NM in 1929. He married Billie F. Millsap on September 9, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents; an older brother, Milburn Massey; and an older sister, Doris Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie; sons, Don Massey and his wife, Denise, Randy Massey and his wife, Kathy and Rick Massey; brothers, Walt Massey and his wife, Rusty and Wally Massey and his wife, Betty; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Massey served in the U.S. Navy SeaBees during WWII and was stationed at Midway. He was in the automobile and RV business for more than 50 years. He lived in Roswell for 56 years before moving to Albuquerque 16 years ago. A Memorial Service will be held at his church, the Northeast Church of Christ, 11000 Paseo del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. Mcmahon -- Rena B. McMahon, 93, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Wednesday, January 23, 2002. She is survived by her son, James E. McMahon of Bosque Farms; sister, Lena Scheier of Silver City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. McMahon was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. McMahon; and daughter, Catherine McMahon. She taught school in Harding County, NM and Santo Domingo Indian School for many years until retiring in 1973. Mrs. McMahon was a member of the National Education Association, New Mexico Education Retirees and New Mexico Extension Service. She was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Peralta where she served in the Alter Society. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, in Peralta, NM, with Monsignor Fred Stadtmueller, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Mt. Palkovic -- Frederick Michael Palkovic, 78, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 29, 2002. Frederick was born March 5, 1923 the son of Frank and Rozalia Mihal Palkovic in Wheeling, West Virginia. He retired from the Sandia National Laboratoies after 33 years of service. Frederick was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Jan) Palkovic of the family home; three children, Kenneth, of San Diego, CA, Ray, of Tijeras, NM, and Carol Blocker of Arroyo Grande, CA; two grandchildren, Melissa Conger and Tryston Blocker, and one great-grandchild, Joshua Conger. A Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. followed by private interment in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Rise -- We lost an elegant lady Tuesday morning, January 29, 2002 at 7:55 a.m. Our mother, our friend, Vara Rise, died peacefully at home. Born November 15, 1918 in Jackson, TN, she was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. She found the love of her life, Carl Rise, and married him on April 3, 1954. He preceded her in death April 22, 2001. While raising six boys she was a top Realtor for many years. She was co-owner of Best Moulding Corporation, founded in 1947, which flourishes today and continues to employ 60 to 70 people. She was passionate about family. She spent most of her love, time and energy taking care of Carl and keeping tabs on her boys. Some of her favorite times were fishing trips to Mexico with Carl. They shared many wonderful memories. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. She is survived by one sister, Velma Wentworth of Jackson, TN; her children, Steve Marlowe and wife, Patty of Redding, CA, Gordon Marlowe and wife, Rena of Belen, Frank DeMott and wife, Helen, of Albuquerque, Joe Rise and wife, Kathy of Corrales, John Rise and wife, Karen of Albuquerque; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rise was preceded in death by her son, Billy Rise. Services will be held Friday, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with the Rev. Sandra S. Bess officiating. Scotten -- Barbara Ann Scotten, 69, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died January 28, 2002. Tapia -- Louis Tapia, 47, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2002. He was born on June 25, 1954 in Pastura, NM. Louis worked for Chava Trucking for seven years. Vigil -- Eulogio Vigil, age 86, beloved brother, cousin, and uncle was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, our Savior, Thursday, January 31, 2002. Eulogio was born in Las Vegas, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Vigil December 1, 2001. Eulogio is survived by his devoted and loving sister-in-law, Irene Montoya and husband, John of Albuquerque; cousins, Frank Romero of Santa Fe and Alicia Urioste of Algodones; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eulogio will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Special thanks is extended to the entire staff of the Paloma Blanca Nursing Home for the loving care given to Eulogio. Work -- Ralph Owen Work, nickname "Chub," a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on January 29, 2002. He was born September 27, 1924 to Ralph A. and Mary (Mengel) Work in Ft. Morgan, CO. Ralph was raised in Ft. Morgan and after graduating high school, went on to serve his country in the United States Army. Ralph graduated from Colorado State University in 1950 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Sandia National Labs where he held several patents and retired after 36 diligent years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Star Heights Ward of Rio Rancho, worked for the Boy Scouts for many years and loved hunting and camping. Ralph is survived by his wife, Lynn Benson-Work; four daughters, Marla Romano, Laurie Mitchell and husband, Gerald, Wendy Palencia and husband, Joe, and Tracy Kolk and husband, Frank; his grandchildren, Jackie and Jonathan Vachon, and Rachel, Megan and Sara Kolk; brothers, Bill and wife, Chris, and John and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Helen, Dot and husband, Don; step-children, Paula Beck, Rocky Rupe, Chris Campbell and Lola Huff. He was preceded in death by his son, Cris; and his twin sister, Gay. Funeral Services for Ralph will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Star Heights Ward, at 2807 19th Ave. SE in Rio Rancho. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Service being held at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow and his cremated remains will be scattered on his boyhood farm in Ft. Morgan, CO.
