Frederick Michael Palkovic, 78, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 29, 2002. Frederick was born March 5, 1923 the son of Frank and Rozalia Mihal Palkovic in Wheeling, West Virginia. He retired from the Sandia National Laboratoies after 33 years of service. Frederick was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Jan) Palkovic of the family home; three children, Kenneth, of San Diego, CA, Ray, of Tijeras, NM, and Carol Blocker of Arroyo Grande, CA; two grandchildren, Melissa Conger and Tryston Blocker, and one great-grandchild, Joshua Conger. A Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. followed by private interment in Vista Verde Memorial Park.
